In the game, you can initially station one hero in a town and then have one visiting hero, for a total of two heroes.
Rhodes's own position doesn't matter. He can choose a hero to guard the town, and at most he can buy one more hero. Currently, he can buy two heroes.
If you buy a third hero, the Necropolis won't be able to hold them all. Alternatively, you could leave one hero outside and recruit others later, which should allow you to buy the third hero.
However, Rhodes doesn't have that much spare money to buy hero units right now. 2500 units of gold is very expensive, and the number of heroes is limited, so he must choose carefully.
Rhodes shook his head, deciding to put those thoughts aside for the time being.
The key right now is to acquire a hero. You yourself don't have much combat power, but a hero does! If troops can appear in reality, then heroes can too.
There are two heroes waiting to be recruited in the tavern: Death Knight Sciark, who comes with a spellbook and an attack speed-boosting spell, and two squads of zombies, totaling 14.
His specialty is zombies, and he comes with the skill of summoning spirits. Alright! The famous and renowned General Qiang of the Undead race, please sit down in the tavern for now, while I check if there's another one for you.
To be honest, Rhodes has no interest in this powerful undead general for the time being.
If he had to choose a special skill, Rhodes would like to select a hero with a resource-related special skill, such as financial management.
Rhodes looked at the next hero, a witch named Roscoe, from the Fortress Swamp tribe. Her starting unit consisted of a squad of 12 werewolves and 6 un-upgraded laundry workers (i.e., lizardmen).
The hero's specialty is Arcane Arts, and he comes with a Wisdom skill and an Arcane Arts skill. Of these two skills, the Wisdom skill is slightly better.
As for arcane magic, it's only so-so! At least its magic recovery ability is stronger.
Now the question is, with 2500 gold coins, Rhodes is struggling to decide which hero to choose: the famous general Qiang Ge or this somewhat minor, mysterious female hero.
If it were a human, the choice would be easier; Rhodes would not hesitate to choose a human as a bodyguard, even if it were an elf or a tower sorcerer.
But a female hero from the swamp tribe who looks like a dog, and a powerful general who looks like an undead, what a tragic situation!
If you choose the undead, Qiang Ge and his troops are a good match, as Qiang Ge can command his own zombie army.
Moreover, if summoned to the outside world, Qiang Ge can also pick up a gun and do it himself, at least with the title of Death Knight.
After a moment's thought, Rhodes made his decision.
Chapter 3 H3: Qiang Ge, the leader of the Four Great Generals
He chose the divine general of the Cemetery City, the legendary ultimate leader, Brother Qiang.
Mr. Stanker, one of the four great generals of Heroes of Might and Magic III, is his first hero and also works as a personal bodyguard.
Although the title "God General" carries a slightly derogatory connotation, it is undeniable that Stank's skills are actually quite good.
More importantly, there's another hero, Rhodes, who seems even less suited to the undead race, and his Arcane Arts is a useless skill. At least Rhodes is a hero of his own race.
With the deduction of 2500 units of gold, Rhodes acquired his first hero, an undead hero with a zombie-like face, wearing magnificent knight's armor and wielding a knight's lance.
Death Knight Scythek.
Stank initially chose the dark path of witchcraft, but soon discovered that his fighting skills far surpassed his magical abilities, thus becoming a death knight.
He served in Dea's undead legion, dreaming of one day joining the ranks of true necromancers.
Data: Attack: 1 Defense: 2 Strength: 2 Knowledge: 1 Initial Skills: (Soul Summoning): Converts a certain percentage of enemy soldiers killed in battle into skeletons or skeleton warriors (if the team is full and only has skeleton warriors, it will summon skeleton warriors). (Resistance): Also known as Magic Resistance, it has a chance to prevent the user from being affected by enemy magic.
Starting magic: Attack speed increase; Hero specialty: After reaching level 2, increases the attack and defense of zombies or walking corpses, and increases their initial speed by one.
Rhodes nodded in satisfaction. It didn't matter that the zombies were slow; Qiang Ge could increase their speed by 1 and also gave them a spell that accelerated their attacks.
Moreover, each level up increases Qiang Ge's attack and defense. With a combined 25 HP after leveling up, Qiang Ge becomes a true tank for defending the city. When he's blocking the city gate, no one can get into the city.
Furthermore, Qiang Ge's four-dimensional attributes are quite good, and although he is a death knight, he does not need to buy spellbooks like other knight-type heroes of other races.
Brother Qiang comes with his own magic book, which saves him 500 gold coins!
For Rhodes, who was penniless, this was still very precious and delicious.
After hiring his first hero, Rhodes couldn't wait to summon his bodyguard in the small room.
There was no earth-shattering light, no deafening entrance effects, just a gust of rotten wind that made Rhodes' thin clothes cling to his body, causing him to shiver involuntarily.
The space rippled like water, and a tall, imposing figure materialized from the void, standing there silently.
Death Knight Stank has arrived!
He was dressed in thick, black, scratched yet still magnificent knight's armor, which covered his muscular, lifeless body that clearly belonged to the undead, standing over two meters tall.
The joints of the armor faintly revealed the dry, grayish-white skin and then dried muscles underneath. A helmet with a ferocious visor covered most of his face, only revealing his lower jaw—where there were no lips, only bare, bluish-black jawbone and a few strong teeth, tightly clenched, exuding a fierce aura.
He held a black knight's lance of astonishing length in his hand, the tip of which gleamed with a cold, eerie light.
"Homage to you, great undead lord, Death Knight Stang serves you!" Upon seeing Rhodes, the newly appeared Death Knight immediately knelt on one knee, offering his loyalty.
"Get up, Stanker. Do you remember the past? Do you remember how you got here?" Rhodes nodded and asked.
To be honest, Qiang Ge's appearance was quite a letdown; at least he didn't look like a complete noob.
“Great Necromancer Lord, I have no past. I was born when you summoned me, and I only just developed my own will. You are everything to me, and I have no other desires,” Stank said.
Rhodes nodded upon hearing this. It seemed that his Heroes of Might and Magic 3 system was not summoned here by the heroes of the planet Enroth, but rather created out of thin air when he chose to hire a hero.
The included shrine also contained 12 skeleton soldiers that could be recruited, and Rhode was able to recruit all of them.
He spent several hundred gold coins to bring his number of skeleton soldiers to thirty-seven. He planned to lead the skeleton troops and four ghost Rhodes himself.
Rhodes directly handed the zombie army to Stronk, bringing the number of zombie troops under his command to twenty-four.
He also has a treasure he chose at the start of the game called Fire-Eyed Man, which can increase the success rate of Eagle Eye Technique by 10%.
Rhodes didn't give this thing to Stronk; instead, he put it on himself.
“Stronk! There’s a bunch of monsters outside, some undead creatures. Can you wipe them all out and protect me?” Rhode asked.
Let me see just how powerful the heroes of the Necropolis are!
Upon hearing this, Stanker glanced outside and then revealed a hint of disdain. How could a few low-level undead creatures, who hadn't even developed self-awareness, be compared to him, a death knight?
“Great master, let me teach these arrogant fools a lesson for you. I don’t even need to take any soldiers with me.” Without saying a word, Stanker picked up his black iron spear, pushed open the door of the dilapidated house, and walked out.
Several zombies and skeletons wielding machetes walked towards them. When they saw the big guy, Stanker, appear, some of the undead creatures around them were clearly stunned for a moment.
"You trash, you have disturbed the peace of our great master, prepare to die!" Sqiang roared and charged towards the group of low-level undead creatures in front of him.
"Hmph! Trash!" Stanker casually swung the heavy black knight's lance forward.
puff!
The spear tip pierced the already decaying chest of the walker without any resistance. The immense force sent the walker's shriveled body flying backward, crashing into a skeleton soldier behind it like a broken sack, making its skeleton rattle.
The spear continued its momentum, piercing the skeleton soldier's eye socket with pinpoint accuracy and penetrating his skull!
With a flick of his wrist, Stanker swung the spear, carrying the two low-level undead impaled on it, to the side as if throwing away trash!
The spear danced, transforming into a black whirlwind of death! *Crack! Whoosh!*
The remains of the zombies and skeletons were slammed against the earthen walls of the dilapidated house, instantly shattering into pieces, with rotting flesh flying everywhere and broken bones scattering.
Instant kill! In just a few seconds, Death Knight Sciark had wiped out the undead minions outside the door.
A resounding victory; Stanker gained 15 experience points.
Chapter 4 Cleaning up the town, the emblem of Lordaeron?
15 experience points is a bit outrageous. It seems that these undead creatures are not very strong in combat. If a dozen skeletons or a few zombies were killed by Stank like this, then he would still get several hundred experience points.
Rhodes was very satisfied with Qiang Ge's outstanding performance; those 2500 units of gold were well worth it!
“Great master! I sense some undead creatures nearby. Should I eliminate them all?” With his Death Knight’s sensitivity to undead aura, Stank could clearly sense the presence of a large number of undead creatures in the town.
"Approximately how many are there? Are you confident you can handle them?" Rhodes asked.
Clearing out these undead creatures is good; at least it will make this dilapidated town safe for the time being, and Rhode can also develop his strength in a more cautious manner for a while.
"There are several hundred of them. As for eliminating them, that's no problem at all, since they have no owners."
"They're just some low-level infected undead creatures; their combat power isn't even as good as ordinary skeleton soldiers," Stanker said.
Dealing with these wild undead creatures was a piece of cake for this powerful death knight hero.
“Okay! You take the zombie army with you! It’ll be safer that way,” Rhodes nodded and said.
Rhode is quite confident in Stanker's current combat strength. He can take the zombie army with him, and if anything happens, a hero with troops at his disposal won't be afraid.
Stanker nodded and left with 20 zombies. After Stanker left, Rhode kept receiving system notifications!
A glorious victory! 20 experience points gained!
A glorious victory! 30 experience points gained!
A glorious victory! 28 experience points gained!
In just one hour, the dilapidated town was cleaned up by Stank.
After clearing out all the undead creatures from the entire town, Stanker returned to Rhodes's residence.
The more than 300 undead creatures also gave Stank more than 300 experience points for leveling up.
In addition, due to the Necromancer's necromancy, Scissor brought back 30 skeletons for Rhodes, increasing Rhodes's skeleton army to more than 60.
The Necropolis tribe is indeed growing in number the more we fight them! These skeleton soldiers created by necromancy are such a good deal.
"Reporting to the great master, I have cleared all the wild undead creatures from the town. The town is now safe and you are free to move around as you please," Sciark said.
“I understand, Stanker. When you were exploring the town, did you discover anything about the beings controlling these undead creatures, such as a necromancer?” Rhode asked.
With so many undead appearing in this town, Rhodes suspected there must be a manipulator nearby.
“Great master, I did not sense the presence of any necromancers, and these undead creatures were not created through death magic.”
"I can sense that these undead creatures were originally residents of this town. They must have consumed a grain infected with a plague virus, which turned them into undead," Sciark said.
"Grain infected with the plague virus!"
“That’s right, Master! While I was clearing out the undead in the town, I accidentally discovered a grain storage warehouse.”
"There are some grains inside that have been contaminated with the undead virus. If ordinary mortals eat these grains, they will be immediately transformed into low-level undead creatures," Sciark said.
Rhodes nodded upon hearing this. The contaminated grain and the undead creatures outside were all transformed villagers!
“Stronk, take me to the grain warehouse you found,” Rhodes said.
Stanker nodded and immediately led Rhodes to the center of town, to a grain warehouse.
