Chapter 251: News From Ulrich
Chapter 251: News From Ulrich
Seamus woke with Lulu sleeping soundly in his arms. Her breathing was soft and steady, her pink hair spread across the pillow and partly over his chest.
The room still smelled heavily of sex, and the mattress beneath his naked body remained damp from everything they had done throughout the night. Looking at the sleeping vampire in his embrace, Seamus could not help but smile faintly.
If his sense of time was correct, they had been having sex for almost two days.
And yet, when he checked his status, he was still only level forty-eight.
Two more levels. That was all he needed to reach his fourth evolution, but those final levels seemed maddeningly far away.
"Shit," he muttered under his breath. "Maybe I should call Madeline and turn this into a threesome."
The thought had barely crossed his mind when a loud knock rattled the room. Before he could answer, the door was kicked open so hard that it tore free from its hinges and crashed onto the floor.
Standing in the doorway was Bianca. Her expression was as cold and composed as ever, but there was unmistakable urgency in her eyes.
"Ulrich finally managed to contact us. He reached me through my doll a moment ago and they wanted to talk to everyone."
She spoke as though the sight of Seamus and Lulu lying naked in the same bed was the most ordinary thing in the world.
Seamus carefully sat up, trying not to wake Lulu.
"Tha—"
Bianca cut him off before he could finish. "Meet me in the drawing room. Everyone will be there."
Without waiting for a reply, she turned and left, abandoning them with the shattered door, making him sighed and rubbing the back of his neck, confused now if he needed to move Lulu to another room...
Seamus had barely adjusted to the sudden interruption when another face appeared in the ruined doorway. Leah peeked inside and grinned.
"Oh wow. Someone’s been having fun."
She stepped into the room, crossed directly to the bed, and settled onto his lap as though it were the most natural thing in the world. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and she tilted her head with a playful pout.
"You should have called me."
Seamus smirked and rested a hand on her waist. "If we still had time, I would have. A threesome with you and Madeline sounds pretty tempting."
He gave her a quick kiss before patting her thigh. "But we’re clearly busy now, so we need to move."
Leah groaned dramatically in disappointment. While Seamus stood and began dressing, she remained perched on the edge of the bed, watching him with the intense gaze of a predator studying its prey.
"Don’t look at me like that," he said while buttoning his shirt. "I’m not your breakfast."
Leah crossed her arms and tilted her head. "Hmm. Are you sure about that?"
Then her playful expression softened. "Still, I wonder why you’re in such a hurry. Ulrich, your father, and the Emblem of Corvane are all with that group. They’ll be fine."
Seamus turned toward her after zipping up the fresh trousers he had taken from his bag.
"You don’t know that. Maybe they’re in real danger."
Leah shook her head.
"Unlikely. Unlike your trip to the Capital of Lilium, the northern territory beyond the wall is enormous, and the place they’re exploring is far beyond Bianca’s normal range. Her bloodstyle has limits too, you know."
Seamus knitted his brows but said nothing for a moment. "Well, we won’t know until we get there. Come on."
After fastening the final button of his shirt and covering Lulu’s body with a blanket. He and Leah then stepped into the hallway.
Leah immediately slipped her arm through his and leaned against him as they walked.
"Hahh, you and Bianca worry too much." She shook her head, her voice becoming more thoughtful. "My guess is that they reached the place where Flynn found King Morum’s torso, and something there interfered with Bianca’s connection."
She glanced up at him. "The flow of time inside that barrier might be different. That would explain why they’ve been gone for almost a week."
Seamus looked at her in surprise. The more he thought about it, the more her theory made sense.
Flynn had emerged from that mountain with the power that eventually led Seamus to where he was now.
If the torso of King Morum had been hidden there for centuries, then perhaps the missing heart remained within the same place, waiting for someone to claim it before Robert Latros did.
Leah squeezed his arm and smiled. "But if I’m right, it means they found something important and it means they need you, Seamus."

By the time Seamus and Leah reached the drawing room, everyone was already gathered inside. The moment he pushed the door open, several faces turned toward him, their expressions a mixture of relief and impatience.
"About time," Dylan said, shaking his head.
Seamus merely shrugged.
He and Leah crossed the room and took the empty sofa, while Bianca remained seated in the center of the arrangement like the moderator of a war council.
Resting on the table before her was a small doll shaped like Ulrich. Though it was only a handcrafted figure, the doll somehow carried the same commanding presence as the patriarch himself, standing upright with an authority that felt unmistakably his.
A moment later, the doll cleared its throat.
"Don’t worry about us. We’re all fine. Everyone is in the room, correct?"
Bianca gave a short nod. "Yes. Everyone is here, including Seamus."
"Excellent. Bianca has already informed me about everything Mark Latros revealed." He paused for a moment and sighed. "That poor old man. Still, I am glad his soul has finally found peace."
Seamus leaned forward, unable to hide his impatience any longer.
"What about you? What did you find?"
There was a brief silence before Ulrich answered. "We met the concubine, the Pharos"
The words sent a ripple of shock through the room. Maria straightened immediately, while Seamus’s eyes widened.
"The concubine?" Maria blurted out. "Then what about King Morum?"
Ulrich was silent for a moment before replying, his voice growing heavier. "He refuses to wake."
Even through the doll, they could sense the weight of what Ulrich had witnessed beyond the barrier. Whatever he had found in that hidden place had clearly changed his understanding of everything they thought they knew.
After another brief pause, Ulrich spoke again. "Now, I will tell you everything that happened to us."
