Chapter 532: Method of Victory
Chapter 532: Method of Victory
Axel’s expression turned dark under the mask. Even with the power of such a mighty demon bloodline coursing through his veins, he would still fall short against her.
In fact, if Sophia had not lost her memories, which caused a crack in her foundation, she would have been much, much stronger by now.
She was still too disgustingly strong.
The demon sighed begrudgingly, "Sorry, Sophia, it’s still not the time for us to clash yet..."
His words did not travel far as he uttered them, his demonic gaze locked onto the Valkyrie’s eyes.
It was unknown if she understood his words, because no change in her expression could be seen. Her face was as apathetic as ever, her murderous desire still crashing down on Axel, like the weight of multiple mountains, each stacked on top of another.
Axel did not hesitate and flew into the air, propelled by the force of his demonic energy. He immediately started to fly in the direction of the Ghost Army’s campsite at full speed.
Axel growled in his demonic voice, his voice directed towards the Titanic Worm, "Death Worm first reversion...."
The moment he said those words, the gargantuan worm, which was badly injured, let out a heaven-sundering screech; its entire body began to vibrate madly, enough to make the worldly mana tremble.
The vibration from the creature’s outer shell grew strong enough to trigger a sudden shockwave that spread outward, hitting the 4th phase powerhouses besieging it. Blood rushed out from various spots of the injured worm’s body.
With multiple resounding cracks, the creature’s tough exterior began to crumble, and in just a few seconds, all the injuries it had suffered vanished; a new shell even stronger than the previous one formed.
With even greater frenzy, the titanic worm attacked its enemies once more, while fear filled the fourth-phase seekers, many of whom were already injured.
Seeing the hateful worm heal completely in such a brazen manner after all the effort they had put into injuring it, they could not help but feel despair.
But the Valkyrie didn’t pay them any heed; she did not even turn her head. Her murderous eyes locked onto Osiris, as he was the perpetrator in all of this; she only needed to kill this demon. Not to mention, she was not inclined to do more than what she was ordered to do.
But there was another emotion lingering in her eyes. The desire for battle, which she had not felt for a long, long time. A one-on-one battle that she could enjoy.
After all, this would be the first time in her life that she would be facing off against a demon. She smiled darkly, shadows nestling all around her.
Even as the demon fled, she could not spot an ounce of fear in his demonic eyes; it was simply a calculated retreat. But most importantly, Sophia could feel it, an enormous well of power hiding within the malevolent demon.
The demon was strong and quite terrifyingly so, which made her eyes shine in excitement.
Yet at this moment, a mocking look crossed the demon’s face; the skull mask mirrored his expression. The demon proclaimed with a mighty roar, "Demonic Fenrir...."
The instant he said those words, a grave sense of danger washed over Sophia’s entire body enough to make her halt. From the small area of gray fog that remained, a gargantuan four-legged, dark red wolf, whose height reached almost a kilometer, jumped out.
Its body was so large that the wolf cast a shadow above the entire battlefield.
In the light of the Dusk, the wolf, covered in blood-red fur, oozed with a mix of demonic energy and a savage, beastly killing intent. The beast’s bloodlust was powerful enough to contend against the Valkyrie’s killing intent.
The Wolf’s might was supremely tyrannical. Even the Gargantuan worm trembled in fear as the wolf’s killing intent spread. Even Sophia’s face became incomparably grim.
The bloody Immortal Wolf’s gaze automatically locked onto the valkyrie, as the beast bared its teeth against her, as she was the strongest within the range of its detection.
Sophia sneered, seeing the Beast’s gaze.
For a moment, she turned her head towards the demon she had been chasing, her eyes cold.
Osiris met her cold gaze with a small smile tugging at his lips, "Don’t worry, we will fight soon enough..."
Looking at the Immortal wolf, Axel grinned, "Heh, it was worth it to scheme so much to make sure that Enrick would only summon Fenrir, and no other creature."
"Because only Fenrir can become this strong after devouring my demon flesh and blood. Assimilating the power of my demon bloodline onto itself."
Axel chuckled coldly, "Attaboy Fenrir, now go all out and... Wreak Havoc."
The instant those words escaped from the lips of Osiris, the Beast of Ragnarok let out a world-deafening roar, making even the skies tremble. With no further warning, the demonized Fenrir clashed against the Valkyrie.
And so, the strongest clash till the start of this war occurred right in front of the two armies.
Witnessing this scene, even Zoromir Gorthak, the mighty 5th phase Lich, who was the strategist in charge of this war, had to suck in a sharp breath. A trace of admiration rose in his heart for this Demon Horned Undead.
What Osiris had done was no simple matter; he basically turned the strongest secret weapon of the Samartan Great Kingdom and turned it against the Strongest weapon of Suncrest.
A battle that should have been between the forces of the Great Kingdoms and the forces of the Ghost race was turned into something akin to internal strife on the enemy side.
Zoromir’s sunken, undead eyes sparkled in greenish flames, and he voiced in a bone-grinding note, "Hehe, Golgoth, he’s good, your master Osiris, he is very, very good, no wonder he dares to scheme against Arclight."
Gareth, who was in the guise of Golgoth, was standing right beside the 5th phase strategist, watching the entire war through a screen of projected light.
His expression was aloof and cold as he stated in a solemn tone, "True Victory comes not from destroying your enemy’s weapon, but using that very weapon to destroy its own master."
