Chapter 9 Attribute Panel
Chapter 9 Attribute Panel
After trust was established, Qin Chuan felt much more at ease.
He squatted down next to the wild boar, starting to figure out how to handle this big guy. The whole 300-pound pig was too small a knife to cut it open like in a slaughterhouse.
The folding blade is eight centimeters long, which is fine for cutting meat, but difficult for peeling skin.
Qin Chuan first made an incision under the wild boar's belly and removed its internal organs. The whole process reeked of a strong fishy smell, and Fan Yubing, standing nearby, covered her nose and took several steps back, her face pale.
Lin Shishi was alright; having witnessed even more gruesome scenes at the hospital, she helped Qin Chuan hold the pig's leg in place so he could free up both hands to work.
"Have you ever slaughtered pigs before?" Lin Shishi asked curiously.
"I've never slaughtered a pig, but I've slaughtered chickens. When I was a child in the countryside, I helped my grandfather slaughter chickens and fish during the Lunar New Year; the general process was similar."
Qin Chuan separated the internal organs, picking out the heart, liver, and kidneys and placing them on a banana leaf, while throwing the rest that couldn't be eaten further away. Then he began peeling them.
The wild boar hide was much thicker than he had imagined; it took him a long time to cut a small piece with his folding knife. Qin Chuan simply gave up on the idea of skinning it completely and started cutting the meat into pieces instead.
After working for almost half an hour, I finally cut off a dozen or so fist-sized pieces of pork and piled them on banana leaves.
The campfire was rekindled, and Qin Chuan added a few thick pieces of firewood, causing the flames to leap high. He skewered chunks of pork onto sharpened sticks and placed them above the fire to roast slowly.
The grease dripped onto the charcoal fire, sizzling as smoke billowed out, and a rich aroma of meat wafted in the night breeze.
This flavor is so overpowering.
Fan Yubing's stomach made a sound, and she quickly pressed her hand against it, pretending that nothing had happened.
Lin Shishi wasn't much better off; she made a "gulp" sound in her throat.
The three of them had only eaten a few mantis shrimps, a few scallops and conches, and a few exotic coconuts since morning. Their stomachs were rumbling with hunger.
When the meat was grilled until the outside was golden brown and the inside was still oozing oil, Qin Chuan picked up a skewer and took a bite.
Although there were no seasonings, the wild boar here was naturally salty, and the moment the juices burst in his mouth, the satisfaction almost made him sigh out loud.
Wild boar meat is much softer than pork from Blue Star, with a gamey aroma, and it's chewy and not dry at all.
A system notification popped up:
[Consuming Tier 2 Ingredient: Otherworldly Wild Boar Boar. First consumption grants +4 Strength and +2 Speed. Bonus: +2 Defense!]
Qin Chuan opened the attribute panel, and the situation was as follows:
[Host: Qin Chuan.]

[Special Ingredients: Target Fan Yubing (Cooldown time remaining 8.5 hours), Target Lin Shishi (Cooldown time remaining 9 hours)]
That's right, my current strength is twice what it was before.
Qin Chuan handed him two skewers of grilled meat: "Eat up."
Fan Yubing took a skewer, carefully took a small bite, chewed it a couple of times, and her eyes widened slightly.
"tasty."
The words came out of Fan Yubing's mouth with a genuine sense of surprise. She took another big bite, her cheeks bulging, and chewed vigorously.
Lin Shishi ate a meat skewer while tears streamed down her face.
Qin Chuan glanced at her: "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing, I just suddenly felt...it's so nice to be able to eat something hot." Lin Shishi sniffled. "When I woke up this afternoon, I thought I was going to die. My hand was bleeding, I was extremely dizzy, and I wanted to scream for help, but I didn't have the strength. Then you came, stopped the bleeding, and gave me water. Brother Chuan, you're a good person."
Qin Chuan, his mouth greasy from gnawing on pork, mumbled, "Don't always talk about good people; good people don't always get rewarded."
Fan Yubing knew in her heart that Lin Shishi had probably fallen for Qin Chuan, but she didn't say it outright.
The three of them ate their fill around the campfire.
There was too much wild boar meat. Even though the three of them ate as much as they wanted, they only managed to finish two or three pounds. Qin Chuan wrapped the rest in banana leaves and hung it on a tree branch next to the tent, more than a meter off the ground, to prevent it from being ruined by insects on the ground.
After finishing the meat, Qin Chuan opened two coconut jelly cups, and they each drank one. Coconut water with grilled meat—it was quite delicious even without cola.
Fan Yubing let out a burp, quickly covered her mouth, and blushed slightly.
"I've lost my composure," she muttered.
Qin Chuan, who was adding firewood to the fire, laughed upon hearing this: "Are you afraid of being embarrassed by burping on a deserted island?"
"You still need to pay attention to your image."
Qin Chuan shook his head and placed the last thick piece of firewood on the table.
The flames reignited, their crackling sounds particularly clear in the night.
"Let's get down to business." Qin Chuan sat up straight. "The meat from this wild boar today will last us a few days, but we can't rely on free fighting forever; we need a long-term plan."
Fan Yubing nodded and swallowed the meat in her mouth: "Go on."
"Tomorrow's tasks are twofold: First, to patrol the beach area and see if there are any supplies washed ashore from the cruise ship. The three of us were thrown from that ship, and other items may have also washed ashore. Second, the shack is too small; it's barely enough to hide in for one night, not for long-term living. We need to build a decent wooden cabin. At the very least, it should be large enough to stand upright and walk around in, and it should have separate rooms."
Lin Shishi tentatively raised her hand: "Separate rooms? You mean...men and women stay in separate rooms?"
Qin Chuan glanced at her: "Of course we'll separate. A man crammed together with two women—I'd be more embarrassed than you two."
Fan Yubing raised an eyebrow, said nothing, but her expression clearly showed relief.
"Third," Qin Chuan held up three fingers, "build a simple toilet by the sea. We can't keep having to squat in the bushes every time."
Fan Yubing blushed again, and Lin Shishi lowered her head as well.
This topic may be awkward, but it is indeed a basic necessity.
One of the most inconvenient things for two women on a deserted island is going to the toilet. There's no privacy, no cover; they have to crouch in the grass to avoid insects, snakes, and being spied on. Although Qin Chuan is currently the only suspect, they still need to be careful.
"Alright, let's get some sleep." Qin Chuan stood up, patted his pants, and said, "You guys go into the tents to sleep, I'll keep watch outside."
Fan Yubing hesitated for a moment: "Aren't you going to sleep?"
"It's okay, you guys go to sleep first. We'll talk about it if you really can't take it anymore."
Lin Shishi asked anxiously, "Are you safe being out there all alone?"
"A fire will suffice. Most wild animals are afraid of fire; as long as the campfire stays burning, they won't dare approach."
The two exchanged a glance, nodded, and bent down to crawl into the tent.
The tent wasn't big; it was just the right size for two people to lie down side by side. The ground was covered with banana leaves and dry grass, which rustled as you lay down.
Fan Yubing lay there for a while, then turned over and leaned close to Lin Shishi's ear: "Shishi, when you kissed him just now... were you being proactive?"
Lin Shishi's face burned in the darkness: "Sister Fan, please stop talking."
"I'm not making fun of you, I was just asking."
Lin Shishi was silent for a few seconds, her voice barely audible: "I don't know what happened, but when I saw him carrying the pig back, I just... I felt that this person was reliable. And then... I went up to him."
Fan Yubing hummed in response and said nothing more.
She closed her eyes, but her mind was racing with one thought.
Qin Chuan jumped two meters high.
This scene kept replaying in her mind.
On the cruise ship, she saw muscular men in gyms and watched videos of Olympic athletes training. The limit for a normal human being's standing jump is just over a meter. Two meters—that's the level of the high jump world record.
After Lin Shishi kissed him, Qin Chuan jumped two meters.
If this is true, then the "Many Children, Many Blessings" system is true, then the ability to become stronger by kissing someone is true, then...
Fan Yubing turned over and covered her burning face with her hands.
Stop thinking about it, go to sleep.
