Chapter 30 The Assault from Gremory
Chapter 30 The Assault from Gremory
Babylonian Academy, the school auditorium.
"Did it work?!"
Looking down at the hundreds of cheering demons, including those who had mocked him before, Damian couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.
He didn't really care whether he won or lost the duel. He just really enjoyed the feeling of going all out to win and letting his emotions out without having to suppress them!
However, the next moment, he suddenly felt a slight chill on his neck.
Clang clang!
That's the sound of swords colliding at an abnormally high speed.
Damian stiffly turned his neck and saw two figures colliding, separating, and then colliding again at a speed that was completely beyond the reach of his naked eye.
In just a few seconds, the sounds of countless swords clashing echoed throughout the hall. What was clearly a battle between two people had the momentum of a thousand troops.
Then the two figures separated. One was a cold-looking silver-haired man who stood firmly in front of Damian, while the other was completely wrapped in a black robe, making it impossible to see anything except for a pair of eyes filled with murderous intent.
The instant those eyes were fixed on him, Damian felt a shiver run through his body, a chill run down his spine, and even the illusion that his head was about to fall off his neck.
"You audacious sinner, this is the Babylonian Academy managed by the Lucifer family, and the person you are trying to assassinate is the Arrogant Seat designated by Lady Alicia."
Melchior questioned him sharply, emphasizing the words "Lucifer" and "Alicia" in an attempt to scare off the assassin.
"Hmph." The man in black robes did not answer, but merely snorted coldly.
Swish swish!
The next moment, dozens of figures, also draped in black robes, suddenly emerged from the shadows of the auditorium and rushed onto the stage in an instant, surrounding Melchior and Damian.
"Those who are not involved, step back immediately, or you will be killed without mercy," the leader of the black-robed men said coldly.
Upon hearing this, Melchior frowned deeply, and veins bulged on his forehead.
"Are you threatening a teacher who is a high-ranking devil to abandon his students and escape alone?" the silver-haired man said in a chilling tone. He hadn't been insulted like this in a long time.
The last insolent demon who dared to insult him had his soul ripped out and thrown into the fires of purgatory.
"Caroline, protect Damian. I'm about to get serious," he instructed the green-haired woman who had somehow appeared beside Damian.
Splash splash splash.
That wasn't the sound of water, but pure magic materializing as it surged at high speed, creating a roar like the waves crashing against the shore as it rubbed against the air.
A burst of silvery-white light erupted from Melchior's body, like a torrent finally breaking through a dam, carrying a tremendous power that could shake the very fabric of space, instantly engulfing him completely, leaving only a blurry outline enveloped in light and flame.
buzzing.
Impacted by the magic, even this enormous hall began to sway precariously.
"Hey, hey, Melchior, a high-ranking demon, is about to unleash his magic! That's a power capable of easily altering the terrain!"
"More than that, Professor Melchior is a top-notch magician. Any spell he casts could collapse a mountain."
"Although we still want to keep watching the drama unfold, at a time like this, we'd better get out of here!"
Even the audience was thrown into turmoil, with demons scrambling to their feet and pushing each other as they tried to escape the auditorium.
Snapped!
Just as a stampede was about to occur, a clear snap of fingers instantly echoed throughout the entire auditorium.
The demons, who had been causing a disturbance, instantly returned to their seats, and Melchior's massive magical power was interrupted.
Magician Sean appeared on the platform at some point, standing in the middle of the confrontation between the two groups.
"Gentlemen, instead of fighting to the death, why don't we listen to what the parties involved have to say?" the magician said gently.
"Listen to your mother's ass!"
The leader of the men in black robes clearly didn't want to hear him say anything more, and instead started cursing.
"We trusted your Babylonian Academy, that's why we sent our young master here, and what do you do? On his very first day, you induced him to participate in the Seven Deadly Sins Arbitration, and he fucking lost all seven matches!"
"My young master is one of the most outstanding geniuses in the family's history, how could he possibly lose seven matches in a row?!"
"Putting everything else aside, in the first round, a mortal demon without any rank managed to withstand the Demon King's pressure and reach the tenth level of the Willpower Ladder!"
"Fuck you, you're not even bothering with the acting anymore! I'm going to spank your rotten ass with the sole of my shoe!"
...
The man in the black robe spoke with barely suppressed rage, and his words became increasingly vulgar.
Sean listened quietly, his face expressionless. Only after the man in black robes had finished cursing did he slowly speak:
"I, Sean, as a seventh-rank devil count, swear to the will of the seventh ring of hell that I did not show any favoritism towards Damian during my role as judge in the Seven Sins Judgment between Damian and Raphael."
"If I had to say I'm biased, I would say I'm biased towards Raphael," the magician paused, then added.
The man in black robes: "..."
The higher the level of the devil, the heavier the price for breaking the contract.
Even if Sean is Lucifer's daughter's confidant, he would never abandon his entire future just to cover up a lie.
In other words, did that black-haired boy named Damian really win all seven matches in the Seven Deadly Sins trials, even with Sean favoring Raphael...?
No, that's not important at all!
The important thing is that, even at the cost of his own life, young Raphael must never be allowed to fall into such a predicament...
The man in black clenched his fist, his eyes blazing with killing intent once more. He took a step forward, instantly making the atmosphere in the room tense once more.
Step, step, step.
Just then, a series of footsteps suddenly rang out.
"Stop, Grandpa Clyde."
The blond boy climbed the steps to the podium, his face pale and his steps unsteady, a far cry from the spirited young man he had been when he first enrolled.
"Young Master Raphael!"
Upon seeing this, the man in black immediately rushed over and tenderly helped the blond-haired boy up.
Looking at those once bright, star-like blue eyes, now dull and gray as if covered by a layer of gray, the man in black felt a sharp pain in his heart.
"Young Master Raphael, rest assured, I will definitely kill that Damian for you. No matter what, I will never let you fall into the position of his servant..."
"Enough, Grandpa Clyde. Do you think I'm some lowly demon who would break a contract or violate etiquette?" Raphael interrupted.
The man in black robes froze.
Although Raphael's face remained pale, the look in his eyes gradually hardened.
"I, Raphael Gremory, in the name of the young lord of the Gremory family, hereby order that no one shall launch any further attacks against Damian, nor... obstruct me."
The blond boy paused for a moment before speaking.
