Chapter 110 The Assembling of the First Avengers!
Chapter 110 The Assembling of the First Avengers!
"Finally got him to sleep, that was really tough."
Seeing Banner lying on the ground, not yet awake for the time being, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
After using Thor's hammer to subdue Hulk, Natasha comforted him for a long time, like soothing a child.
The Hulk, who is powerless against gentle women, quickly relinquished control of his body.
That's really true; all Hulk does when he appears is smash and destroy things.
But when he meets a gentle woman, his irritable temper will subside, and he will even obediently listen to her advice.
"What should we do with him? How about tying him up?"
Thor pursed his lips, his mind still replaying the image of being punched and sent flying.
How can we let such a dangerous person roam freely? He must be kept under strict surveillance.
If this were Asgard, Hulk wouldn't be able to step out of prison.
"That won't do. He's my friend, and he's generally very safe. Don't be prejudiced."
Upon hearing Thor's assessment of Banner, Tony couldn't help but stand up and defend Dr. Banner.
In fact, no matter which side you take as an example, there is some truth to what they say.
"In my opinion," Steve interjected, "since S.H.I.E.L.D. is so powerful, why don't they develop a specific inhibitor?"
After saying that, Captain America turned his gaze to Qin Wuying.
"Wow," Qin Wuying thought to himself, "you really know how to shift the blame."
Immediately afterwards, everyone looked at Qin Wuying, the deputy director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
If even weapons powered by the Cosmic Cube can be manufactured, this kind of special medicine should be a piece of cake, right?
Everyone had this expectation, their eyes filled with anticipation.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.? That organization isn't even half as smart as Tony!" Qin Wuying passed the buck to Stark.
"Okay," Tony said, shrugging. "This is indeed a problem of the century."
In fact, since the existence of the Hulk was known, not no one has tried to research inhibitors.
The last person to successfully produce something was Dr. Stern, but he has since disappeared and his fate is unknown.
Dr. Stern's experiments also led to the creation of another monster, the Abomination.
As for Tony, he also secretly obtained a blood sample from Banner, but to no avail.
"If we're talking about the expert who's most likely to succeed and who understands gamma rays best," Qin Wuying paused, then turned his head toward the direction of the ground-based Banner.
That's right, it's Dr. Banner himself lying down; no one knows more than him.
If Banner himself can't succeed, then other researchers are out of luck.
Just as everyone was discussing various solutions, Banner slowly woke up.
"Cough cough," he coughed a few times after recovering, then looked around in confusion.
The concerned looks from others, his bare upper body, and the only thing he was left with—a pair of purple shorts.
He instantly understood what had just happened.
"Guys, sorry to bother you again. I guess I should just go."
"You stay with us," the Avengers said in unison.
"We'll figure something out," Tony patted Banner on the shoulder. "We're among the best people on Earth."
Banner nodded, a look of guilt mixed with gratitude on his face.
At this moment, Qin Wuying's communication device rang again, and the voice of the widower Patton came through.
"It's been a long time since I heard from you, Patton."
"Sir, we have an update on the escaped Frost Giants; they've headed towards downtown New York City."
"What are they planning to do there?"
"I don't know, but it seems they've already reached the rooftop of a building."
After the call ended, Qin Wuying looked at his companions and nodded solemnly.
Based on his understanding, these frost giants were carrying the Tesseract, undoubtedly to open a portal.
On the other side of the portal was an incredibly ferocious army.
"Our enemy is more troublesome than the Hulk, isn't he?" Thor gently twirled Mjolnir.
"That's right, exactly." Qin Wuying nodded.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Steve Rogers raised his shield.
At this very moment, on the rooftop of a building in downtown New York City, a human is struggling to move his body.
The strong winds at high altitudes were too much for him to handle; he swayed from side to side and could not stand steadily.
But this human seems to have a strong will and is still persisting in completing his work—building the launch pad.
Upon closer inspection, it was clear that the man was Dr. Selvig.
His research into wormholes was so valuable that the Frost Giant used his Mind Staff to control him.
"Look! Isn't that the Tesseract?!"
From the helicopter, the sharp-eyed Banner immediately noticed that the power source at the base of the launch pad under construction was the Rubik's Cube.
Dr. Selvig's hands were flying across the computer keyboard.
Every line of code generated means that the portal in the sky is one step closer to opening.
Not far away, two frost giants were gesturing wildly, as if performing some kind of ritual.
Qin Wuying could tell at a glance that these were the two who weren't very bright.
So, where did Skull, the mastermind behind this heist, go?
"Hey! Old friends! It's so good to see you all!"
Upon hearing the sound, Thor and Qin Wuying quickly turned around. They then discovered that Skul, who had been hidden from view by the launch pad, was now peeking out from behind.
This guy was holding a mind control staff, with a smug look on his face.
Upon closer inspection, Thor was astonished to discover that his friend, Dr. Selvig, was actually working for the enemy!
"Eric Selvig! You'd better give me a reasonable explanation!"
"It's no use," Qin Wuying said, reaching out to stop Thor, who was trying to rush out. "He's being controlled; he can't understand what you're saying."
"Guys," Tony Stark turned around; now it was his turn to fly the plane—
"It'd better hurry, my analysis shows that the setup process is about to be completed."
As soon as Tony finished speaking, a red and blue figure jumped out of the helicopter.
"American Dream Fist!" Steve shouted as he descended from the sky, knocking down Miel, who was dancing.
Speaking of which, what kind of theme-based move name is this? It's too overpowered!
However, seeing that someone had already taken action, Qin Wuying didn't have time to complain and instantly flashed to Dr. Selvig's side.
Immediately afterwards, Tony, clad in his armor, and Thor, crackling with lightning, also flew out.
Even Banner slid down the helicopter's rope ladder.
"Sir, we are both ready to go."
The voices of Barton the White Widow and Natasha the Hawkeye came through the communication.
As Qin Wuying had arranged beforehand, the two of them set up their guns, one on the left and one on the right, in two adjacent buildings.
"It's not too late to surrender now," Qin Wuying said coldly.
Behind him stood Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and Banner.
"Hmph, useless," Skul pointed to the sky, where the portal had already taken shape.
