Chapter 11 Harry roared and lunged at Kane.
"This is Charing Cross Road in London. For the first time, we're not using fireplaces or apparitions, but instead taking you from the Muggle world to find your way to Diagon Alley."
Hagrid led Kane out of a small alley and pointed to a very dilapidated and out-of-place bar not far away.
"That's the Leaky Cauldron, the gateway to the entire magical world of London. It's the entrance to Diagon Alley." Hagrid led Kane into the Leaky Cauldron.
He had arranged to meet the Weasleys here beforehand, but perhaps Hagrid had taken a while to tidy up, anyway, it seemed the Weasleys had been waiting here for a while.
"I love their family's red hair; seeing it at Hogwarts is like seeing the sun."
Hagrid greeted the family who were sitting neatly at the bar.
Kane also looked at the red-haired family, a large and prosperous family, if it weren't for the one with black hair due to a genetic mutation...
Hmm? Black hair?
Kane sensed something was wrong and glanced at him again: "Harry? What are you doing here?"
Unlike Kane, who was slow to realize what was happening, Harry noticed Kane the moment he entered the Leaky Cauldron. The reason he didn't pounce on him immediately was that he was waiting for his prey to come within his attack range, just like a good hunter.
And now is the time.
Harry roared and lunged at Kane.
"I'm here to buy Hogwarts new student supplies, what are you doing here!" Kane shouted, using his shadow to block Harry in shock.
"Let me go, or I'll knock your teeth out!" Harry shouted, baring his teeth and brandishing his claws.
"Come on, you know perfectly well you can't beat me." Kane said, looking at Harry, who was struggling more and more fiercely. After a moment of silence, he used more shadow tentacles to tie Harry up tightly.
Fortunately, the Leaky Cauldron wasn't crowded in the morning. Most of the people there had been drinking heavily the night before, and there was also a group of people gathered around the bartender, Mr. Tom.
Otherwise, with Kane's Shadow skill, he'd be easily defeated by the Aurors.
Of course, the fact that the Weasleys didn't report Aurors doesn't mean they weren't surprised.
"Mom, is this black magic? It's so cool! I want to learn!" Ron, the youngest boy in the red-haired group, was quite shocked as he watched Kane hide the savior of the magical world so easily.
Fortunately, Ron's three older brothers and his mother were very strict about this kind of education, and in an instant, four fists slammed into Ron's head at the same time.
"What are you studying!"
Hagrid overheard the Weasleys' whisper and, to prevent Kane's reputation from being damaged, quickly whispered an explanation: "This is innate dark magic, not something learned. Kane didn't want it to be like this either. Dumbledore certified it."
A series of four explanations successfully salvaged Kane's reputation, which had almost been ruined.
And then there's Harry. Kane's shadow slowly transformed into a long, slender, and powerful claw. He had already untied Harry, but still used his shadow to lift Harry high up by the back of his neck.
"Put me down," Harry said through gritted teeth.
"Swear that you won't go crazy after I put you down."
Harry took a deep breath: "Okay, I promise you."
Kane gently had Shadow put Harry down, but Harry, showing no mercy, immediately lunged at Kane upon regaining his freedom.
Fortunately, Kane had also trained in the Eternal Realm, and with two punches, he knocked Harry to the ground, leaving him to wail on the ground.
"I want...lemonade," Kane said to the bartender Tom as he sat down in the seat Harry had just been sitting.
"Oh, okay, Harry...you're friends?" Tom asked hesitantly after pouring Kane a glass of lemonade.
"Is it hard to tell, or is it that we don't get along well?" Kane said, taking a sip of lemonade.
"Hmm...not enough." Ron said, but still went to help Harry up, noticing the dark circles under his eyes...
"You two really do look like brothers now, you both have dark circles under your eyes," Ron said, unable to stop laughing.
"Oh, thank you for the compliment." Kane asked Tom for two more glasses of lemonade: "Put it on Hogwarts' tab."
Upon hearing this, Hagrid quickly took out several Galleons and Silver Sickles from his bag and handed them to Kane.
"Hmm, thanks, Hagrid." Kane unceremoniously put the money into his pocket, while Hagrid, having finished talking with the Weasleys, came over and patted Harry's Ron on the head.
"Now all three of you freshmen belong to me."
Ron was excited about this. Shopping for school supplies with the savior Harry and a super cool new student would definitely be more interesting than being controlled by his parents.
Harry hesitated. He desired the Weasley family ties, and he also desired Kane's friendship. He could not have both, so he chose friendship over family.
After all, he had actually spent a month with Kane, while Weasley... should have been there forty-five minutes since they met.
He also really wanted to ask Kane how he had been doing during his time away from home, how he usually scavenged for food in that garbage can, and how Hogwarts had found him and brought him out of his misery.
Wow, this kind of question is too cruel for Kane. Maybe I shouldn't ask it at all. It's like reopening old wounds, and it definitely won't be comfortable for him.
Kane watched Harry's expression change repeatedly, wondering what he was thinking about again. Should he tell him that he was enjoying a life of luxury at Hogwarts while Harry was living the Dursleys' lives?
But before he could finish thinking, he heard about a pair of red-haired twins, whose mother said they were named George and Fred.
The two of them started to whine and plead, one after the other: "Why do we have to send Ronnie and Harry away?"
"We can definitely bring this young gentleman into our family as well."
"I think the one who should really be kicked out is Hagrid."
Hagrid, somewhat annoyed, flicked George and Fred on the forehead each.
Mrs. Weasley tapped their foreheads with her finger, somewhat annoyed: "If it weren't for the two of you, I would have been more than happy to bring Harry and Kane along."
"I understand."
"Other people's kids are always better at everything."
Mrs. Weasley, listening to the twins constantly nagging at her, subconsciously felt a little itchy to intervene. However, Hagrid was still opposite her, so she awkwardly pulled Mrs. Weasley and the three children together: "We'll be going now. Please take care of Harry and Ron, Hagrid."
"It's my pleasure. Alright, shall we go too, following the Weasleys?" Hagrid said, looking at Kane and the other two.
"Well, to be honest, I don't recommend doing that," Ron suddenly said, raising his hand.
Why?
"The reason they left in such a hurry is probably to find a secluded place to beat the kids. We're disturbing my two brothers' enjoyment now." Ron said, giving a mischievous chuckle as if to make sure everyone knew he was up to no good.
"Okay, then we'll wait a little longer."
During this precious free time, Harry finally asked Kane the question he had wanted to ask for a long time.
Why did you run away from home?
