Chapter 64 Resurrection Amulet [Available tomorrow]
On the second day after the Christmas holidays ended, Kane was still half asleep when a bright red turkey woke him up.
???
In his sleepy haze, he managed to make out what was bothering him. It wasn't Harry, it wasn't Ron, it wasn't even a person. Very well, it was the evil, fiery red phoenix. Here it comes!
Wait a minute? A phoenix?
He rubbed his eyes and looked closely; it really was Dumbledore's Phoenix Fawkes.
"Um, did Dumbledore stay up all night without roasting mandrakes last night? Go back and tell him that young people need to sleep more, otherwise they won't grow tall. I'll go find him after I wake up." Kane mumbled after he finished speaking, then pulled the blanket over himself again.
Unfortunately, Fox didn't care about any of that. Seeing that he couldn't wake Kane, he simply stopped trying. With a burst of fiery red flames, he teleported Kane directly to the principal's office.
???
Kane, dressed in a long velvet robe, looked at Dumbledore, who was drinking tea across from him, with a puzzled expression. He then sat down in his seat with a sigh. "I need you to compensate me for coming here so early in the morning instead of sleeping," he said.
"Didn't you ever think that something important might be going on?" Dumbledore asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Come on, why would you tell me something important? I'm more inclined to believe you're just bored and want to chat with me to pass the time," Kane said helplessly, leaning back in his chair.
"Tom and Quirrell have already devised a plan to scheme against you," Dumbledore said quietly.
"...So? It's in ten minutes?" Kane rubbed his face. Dumbledore had told him about this long in advance, so he wasn't surprised at all.
"It could be a few months from now, who knows?" Dumbledore said, raising an eyebrow.
"Ah!" Kane clutched his face in pain. "Why couldn't you just let me sleep a few more minutes?!"
"Well, please forgive my selfishness, but Kane, I'd like to discuss something with you, okay?" Dumbledore completely ignored Kane's accusation and spoke to himself.
"You tell me first," Kane sighed and said slowly.
"As you know, Quirrell and Tom's purpose this semester is to train Harry, but perhaps for some strange reason, Harry hasn't found any of the clues I gave him. Well, actually he has found some, but he hasn't thought about the Philosopher's Stone at all. If this happens, we can't do without him as the main character when the play reaches its climax."
Kane was getting drowsy listening to Dumbledore's words, but there was one thing he understood: Dumbledore had dug a perfect pit for him and was now begging him to jump in.
"Do you know about the hero rescuing the princess?" Dumbledore suddenly asked.
"Ah, I know, it's the plot of a cliché knight adventure novel, so I'm a knight?" Kane said with a yawn.
"Yes, I'm sorry, you are a princess."
As soon as Dumbledore finished speaking, Kane immediately stood up to leave: "That's all, I'm leaving."
With an agility that an old man could not possibly possess, Dumbledore grabbed Kane's sleeve: "I think we can talk some more."
Kane shook his head frantically, accusing, "I have nothing to say to you about this! You not only treated Harry like a puppet, but you also used me as bait? This is disgusting! I'm going to tell Professor McGonagall to break your jaw!"
"I assure you I can protect you, and I have the ability. And you might need this. Take a look; this is your reward." Dumbledore gripped Kane's sleeve even tighter, and with his other hand, he pulled an irregularly shaped red gem from under the desk.
"This is a magic stone. I think you might find it useful, don't you think?"
Kane, who had been heading straight for the exit of the principal's office, suddenly stopped...
Um.........
He felt it was necessary to take a look at the Philosopher's Stone, a treasure that originated from mythology.
"But then again, if you have this Philosopher's Stone... let me see it first." Kane no longer rushed to Professor McGonagall as if he were in a hurry to hit a brick wall, but instead sat back down and took the Philosopher's Stone from Dumbledore's hand.
He certainly wasn't foolish enough to risk his life for a magic stone that might give him the chance to use it, but not necessarily to live. A prerequisite for accepting the stage play script was having a way to guarantee his own safety with absolute certainty.
As for Dumbledore's assurances? To be honest, he doesn't trust anyone in this regard, only himself.
"Is there gold?" Kane asked. This legendary magic stone was far more valuable than the ordinary ruby he had dug up in the graveyard before.
I previously used ordinary rubies to make a rebirth amulet. Although it eventually shattered, it at least meant that the rebirth amulet could be made. The shattering was the fault of the ruby, not the rebirth amulet.
And now, if I could use this magic stone to make a rebirth amulet...
Actually, it's not a big deal to occasionally cooperate with the tasteless principal to perform a stage play. I've performed in stage plays before in Eternal Realm, so it's nothing to be ashamed of.
"Hmm... I'll go borrow some for you. How much do you need?" Dumbledore sighed.
"At least the weight of three punches."
Dumbledore nodded and left the headmaster's office, while Kane kept playing with the Philosopher's Stone in his hand. Soon, Dumbledore returned carrying a small bag that smelled of potions and was full of Galleons.
"It seems Professor Snape is quite wealthy." Kane raised an eyebrow and took the bag, almost dropping it at first.
He melted the Galleons inside into three gold nuggets, and then combined them with Nightmare Fuel and a Philosopher's Stone. With Kane's hands flying up and down, leaving afterimages, he created a gold necklace inlaid with rubies.
Ah, the Rebirth Amulet, we meet again.
Kane held the resurrection amulet that could revive souls, silently greeted it in his heart, and then hung it around his neck as if afraid that someone would steal it.
In just a moment, he felt a strange energy emanating from the rebirth amulet on his chest, flowing through his entire body, making his body and mind feel as relaxed as if he were soaking in a hot spring.
A sense of life being anchored drew his soul, enabling him to accomplish, for a period after death, a feat never before achieved by simply contacting the Rebirth Amulet through his soul.
resurrection!
"That familiar sense of security, I love it to death," Kane said, leaning back in his chair and tucking the Rebirth Amulet into his collar.
"How's your decision?" Dumbledore knew from Kane's beaming face that the matter was half settled, and he smiled back at him.
"Do you have a second one of these magic stones?" Kane asked after tucking the Rebirth Amulet into his collar.
"As expected, there is only one Philosopher's Stone in the entire world, and it's currently inside your collar."
Kane felt a strange sense of satisfaction upon hearing Dumbledore's answer; the child from the Eternal Realm had also donned the legendary Philosopher's Stone.
"It's only right to do things after receiving the gifts, but I'll ask one last question: what about Harry's?" Kane asked the question that concerned him most.
"Harry has a spell left to him by his mother. Before he comes of age, even if Voldemort sticks his wand up Harry's nostril and chants a spell, he will not be able to be harmed."
When Dumbledore saw Kane asking about Harry's safety, he replied with satisfaction, "What a good boy! His own mission is the most dangerous; he's basically facing Voldemort with no cover except for himself, yet he still has the mind to care about Harry's safety."
This child is so loving, so full of love!
After leaving the headmaster's office, Kane returned to his dormitory to catch up on some sleep, while Harry had already packed him a breakfast in the Great Hall.
Harry is so loving, so incredibly loving!
Just as Kane was enjoying his breakfast, Harry seemed to suddenly remember something and said, "Oh, right Kane, I ran into Professor Quirrell in the Great Hall. He asked me to call you to his office."
Kane: ? ? ?
