Chapter 15 Su Xiao's Talent

Chapter 15 Su Xiao's Talent

In the afternoon, Chen Simin notified Su Xiao to come to his office.

When Su Xiao came in, he greeted her with a smile and politely asked her to sit down. Su Xiao thought Chen Simin was going to praise her, so she sat down with a smile as well.

"Su Xiao, we won the bid yesterday, you should know that, right?" Su Xiao nodded.

Chen Simin continued, "The tender documents are truly beautifully and neatly prepared. Zhongjian is indeed a place that cultivates talent! And I greatly admire your work ethic. It's a pity you still haven't fully understood Tiancheng!"

Chen Simin's expression turned cold. "They've gotten used to the domineering style of large corporations and haven't considered Tiancheng's capacity to withstand such pressure."

"Director, what do you mean by that? I don't understand."

Chen Simin raised his hand to interrupt, saying, "You've done everything wrong. This is President Wang's intention. Tiancheng is just a small subsidiary of Yinghai Group. Your style of doing things, typical of large corporations, is not suitable for us."

Su Xiao quickly said, "I've done the calculations. I can show you my cost management." She then got up to get the documents for Chen Simin.

Chen Simin, however, did not give her a chance at all.

"Su Xiao, I personally recruited you, of course I trust you."

Then he changed the subject, saying, "I've asked you many times if you can adapt to the work at the company, but it seems you still don't understand what I mean."

Su Xiao looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Chen Simin paused for a moment and then said, "I've already spoken to the finance department. They'll pay you one month's salary. Go and complete the formalities."

Su Xiao understood. She didn't explain further and left Chen Simin's office. After leaving Chen Simin's office, Su Xiao didn't go to the finance department; she had her own principles.

Su Xiao packed her things, slung her bag over her shoulder, and prepared to leave. As she walked out of the company, her colleagues at their workstations all looked up at her, but no one said a word. Everyone knew she was leaving, and no one stood up to see her off.

She walked all the way to the elevator and had just pressed the button when Du Juan, the receptionist, rushed out and stopped her, saying, "Su Xiao, are you leaving?"

The elevator doors opened, but Su Xiao ignored her and walked straight into the elevator.

"Hey, Su Xiao." Du Juan couldn't stop her; the elevator doors closed.

Su Xiao thought for a moment, then opened the elevator door again. With a serious expression, she said to Du Juan, "Du Juan, thank you for the coffee."

Du Juan said with a reluctant expression, "Su Xiao, I don't want you to leave."

"Du Juan, meeting you is the greatest gain I've had here," Su Xiao said gratefully.

Du Juan said sadly, "Winning the bid is a good thing, so why did they let you leave?"

"Maybe they don't even need to win the bid!"

Du Juan then asked, "They said they would lose money, is that true?"

Hearing this, Su Xiao felt a surge of indignation. Even if she were to leave, she couldn't leave with a stain on her reputation. She firmly stated, "The cost estimate I prepared could absolutely not have resulted in a loss."

In a fit of anger, she stepped out of the elevator and rushed into Wang Yang's office. Her secretary couldn't stop her and hurriedly chased after her into the office to stop her.

Wang Yang was originally on vacation in Thailand, but rushed back after the company incident and didn't get enough rest. He was sleeping on the sofa at the moment. When he opened his eyes and saw Su Xiao and the secretary behind her, he knew what had happened. After thinking for a moment, he waved for the secretary to leave, got up, and went to sit down at his desk.

Considering Su Xiao's diligence at work, he decided to give her a chance and hear what she had to say.

Without wasting any words, Su Xiao took out her cost estimate from her bag and sent it to Wang Yang.

"When I was doing the monthly economic analysis, I found that the company's projects were always exceeding the limits in terms of material waste, and we couldn't control the costs," Su Xiao said calmly.

"Yes, this is a recurring problem for the company," Wang Yang said, flipping through the cost estimate sheet.

"That's because you sign contractual agreements with suppliers. You provide the materials, so it's not their problem if they waste them. Naturally, they won't cherish them."

"I know that. I've tried many methods, but fining people doesn't work."

"Saving materials saves money for you too, so naturally they won't care."

He paused for a moment, then added, "Actually, if you just change your perspective and make them feel like they're saving money for themselves, they'll be motivated!"

Wang Yang looked up at her and asked, "What do you mean?"

"The subcontract stipulates that the materials saved shall be divided between Party A and Party B in a proportional manner."

Wang Yang immediately replied, "Great idea!"

A smile immediately appeared on his face. He saw Su Xiao's talent; she had solved the company's long-standing problems so simply. He had a very good impression of Su Xiao.

So he changed the subject and asked, "Where did that 52 million price tag come from?"

Seeing that she had successfully won Wang Yang's favor, Su Xiao quickly added, "It's based on my cost management plan."

"How much profit?"

"Eight points," Su Xiao said firmly.

"Impossible. How could you possibly make such a large profit using your method?" Wang Yang retorted.

Su Xiao took out her phone, opened a news article, and showed it to Wang Yang.

Wang Yang picked it up and saw that it was the latest trade policy. China and Russia had signed a new agreement that allowed timber to be imported directly from Russia, reducing procurement costs by 8% compared to domestic imports, resulting in a significant drop in material costs.

Wang Yang was satisfied. He buttoned up the top button of his shirt, walked around the desk, and solemnly extended both hands to Su Xiao, saying:

"Tiancheng officially welcomes you to the company. If you have any requirements, please feel free to tell me."

Su Xiao realized how much Wang Yang valued her, and she looked up at him directly and said:

"That's right. I've always heard that I'm an unregistered resident of Tiancheng and not a formal employee of Yinghai Group. I just want to get a proper onboarding process so I can work with peace of mind. That's all."

Chen Simin was on the phone when Wang Yang walked excitedly into his office, carrying Su Xiao's cost estimate. Chen Simin quickly stood up and said, "I've taken care of the task you asked me to do."

Wang Yang ignored him and said excitedly, "Old Chen, two things. First, get Su Xiao officially registered; second, train her to be the manager of the business contracts department."

Chen Simin looked completely bewildered and asked, "What? What?"

Wang Yang showed him the cost estimate and exclaimed happily, "This guy's got talent! Look at what he did! He just came to see me. Whether it's good or bad, the effort he put in is truly remarkable! Old Chen, I have to criticize you. If you'd understood this, would I have rushed back from Thailand?"

"But"

"No buts, get on with it." Wang Yang left immediately.

Chen Simin looked reluctant and helpless. But when Su Xiao entered, he put on a smiling face.

"Originally, I was hoping to gradually persuade Mr. Wang, but I didn't expect you to convince him yourself. That's wonderful."

Su Xiao was surprised by his shamelessness and gave an awkward laugh.

Chen Simin added, "Oh, right, I've already contacted Wu Hongmei in the group's HR department. Tomorrow, you can go directly to the group headquarters and complete your onboarding procedures at the HR department."
