"How is that possible!" another officer roared. "The ballistic calculations show the path is correct, but they just keep changing course!"
Ronan's pupils shrank to the size of pinpoints. He couldn't understand it, but he could feel a chill that came from the depths of his soul.
Chu Hang seemed to have grown tired of this passive defense.
He raised his hands, his five fingers gently clenched together.
The distorted space around him instantly increased in curvature several times over. The trajectories of the attacks that were circling him were further altered. After bypassing him, instead of heading into deep space, they made a bizarre U-turn and slammed into a Kree frigate next to them.
The frigate's energy shield shattered instantly, and a massive explosion bloomed like a flower of death in the vacuum. The hull was blown in two, with plasma flames and countless fragments erupting from the fracture.
This is just the beginning.
More and more attacks were deflected, refracted, and then redirected to their own friendly forces.
"The 'Emperor's Sword' has been hit! Engines disabled!"
"Temple Guardian's shield overload! Requesting backup!"
"Take cover! Take cover now! Those are our own torpedoes!"
In an instant, the Kree fleet's formation was thrown into chaos. Explosions erupted one after another; they were not attacking the enemy, but rather killing each other.
"Stop attacking! Stop attacking now!" Ronan finally reacted and let out a hysterical roar.
But it's too late.
In just a few short seconds, more than a third of his prized escort fleet had been reduced to a pile of scrap metal floating in space by his own side's firepower.
Just as the fleet frantically ceased its attack, Chu Hang's figure vanished from the main screen without warning.
"Target missing! Where did he go?!"
"Not on radar! It can't be detected on any frequency band!"
Chaos reigned on the bridge.
Ronan turned around abruptly, a sense of unprecedented crisis making the hairs on his body stand on end.
He saw that behind his commander's throne, the man stood there quietly, as if he had been there from the beginning and had never left.
He was still wearing his ordinary Earth clothes, a playful smile on his face, and even holding a steaming cup of coffee that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
"Hello," Chu Hang said casually, taking a sip of his coffee. "The scenery here is nice, but it's a bit noisy."
A hush fell over the bridge. All the Kree officers froze, petrified, staring in horror at the unexpected visitor. Their hands hovered over the control panels, eyes wide, minds blank.
The piercing intrusion alarm even sluggishly sounded a few seconds later.
Ronan's body was trembling violently, not from anger, but from fear. A fear he hadn't experienced in a long time, and his instinct made him want to run away.
But he was, after all, Ronan the accuser. His fanatical faith in the Kree Empire outweighed his fear.
"For Kerry!"
He let out a roar, raised the all-powerful weapon that symbolized his identity and strength with both hands, and with all his might, slammed it down heavily on Chu Hang's head!
This strike was powerful enough to shatter mountains.
However, the enormous warhammer stopped less than ten centimeters from Chu Hang's head.
Chu Hang didn't even put down his coffee cup. He simply raised his left hand and casually pinched the heavy warhammer between his index and middle fingers.
"That's it?" He raised an eyebrow, a hint of disappointment in his voice.
Ronan strained with all his might, his face turning purple, the muscles in his arms bulging and veins standing out. But the warhammer remained motionless, as if welded to the air. He felt as if he were not fighting against one person, but against the entire universe.
Looking at Chu Hang's relaxed expression, and at those two slender fingers that contained boundless power, his faith and pride completely collapsed at that moment.
"What...what are you?" he asked, his voice trembling and choked with sobs.
"Me?" Chu Hang loosened his grip, letting the warhammer fall limply to the ground with a thud. He thought for a moment, then smiled.
"I'm here to teach you manners."
After saying that, he stretched out his right hand and casually made a gesture behind Ronan.
The space behind him was like a canvas ripped open by a knife, a pitch-black gash appearing. On the other side of the gash, there was no sound, no light, only pure nothingness.
Ronan stared in horror at the spatial rift, his body unable to move due to Chu Hang's spatial control.
Chu Hang, holding a coffee cup, walked up to him and, with his free left hand, gently flicked the armor on his chest as if brushing dust off his clothes.
An irresistible force came.
Ronan's body was involuntarily thrown backward, plunging headfirst into the spatial rift. The rift then quickly closed, as if nothing had happened.
The entire bridge was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
After finishing the last sip of coffee, Chu Hang casually tossed the empty cup aside. The cup disintegrated into countless points of light in mid-air and disappeared.
He glanced around at the Kree officers who were already terrified.
"Alright, your captain, go to space and calm down." He clapped his hands as if he had done something trivial. "Now, this ship is mine. Who agrees, who disagrees?"
No one dared to speak. Everyone kept their heads down, avoiding his gaze.
A few days later, on Earth, at the secret headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The atmosphere in Nick Fury's office was so oppressive it was hard to breathe.
Fury sat behind his desk, his one good eye bloodshot. On the screen in front of him, a top-secret video from a military satellite was playing on a loop.
In the video, a man faces a massive alien fleet alone. With a wave of his hand, the fleet turns on each other, killing one another. Then he vanishes into thin air, and when he reappears, the fleet has lost its commander and is fleeing in panic.
“We gave him a code name.” Phil Coulson stood to the side, his voice dry. “Internal files, highest authority… Heavenly Father.”
Fury didn't speak, only stared intently at the screen. Heavenly Father? The word sent shivers down his spine. This wasn't a hero's codename; it was a threat level. A god walking among humans.
At this moment, the office door was pushed open.
Chu Hang, dressed casually with a toothpick in his mouth, swaggered in, plopped down on the sofa opposite Fury, and casually picked up an apple from the table.
“Chief Fury, it’s been a long time.” He took a bite of his apple and mumbled, “This place is really hard to find.”
Fury took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He turned off the screen, interlaced his fingers, and placed them on the table.
"let's talk."
"What do you want to talk about?" Chu Hang crossed his legs. "Do you want to talk about how you sent people to monitor my investment account 24/7? Or do you want to talk about how you tried to crack my firewall and ended up burning down three of your servers?"
Fury's eye twitched.
“We are not enemies, Mr. Chen. Or rather, Mr. Chu,” Fury said in a deep voice. “The Earth needs power like yours, but… it also fears power like yours. We need to make sure you are not a threat.”
“So, let’s make a deal.” Fury spoke quickly, clearly having prepared his explanation beforehand. “S.H.I.E.L.D. will provide you with the highest level of cover, erasing all records you don’t want to exist. We’ll provide you with all the worldly resources you desire—wealth, information, connections, whatever we have. We guarantee that no one will disturb your life. We only have one request.”
“When a world-destroying threat arises that we cannot resolve… we would like to contact you.” Friton paused, then added, “In the form of a deal, of course. You can propose any conditions we can meet, as long as you are willing to act.”
Chu Hang munched on his apple, remaining silent. He knew this was the biggest concession Fury could make. Turning an uncontrollable god into a mercenary he could trade was the best option. He also understood that while he was strong, it wasn't time to contend with a cosmic civilization like the Supreme Intelligence; low-key development was the key.
"Deal." He tossed the fruit pit precisely into the trash can five meters away. "However, I have one condition."
"Let Carol be her space police officer. I've named her Captain Marvel. Don't make her Earth's babysitter. She doesn't owe anything here. Also, stop bothering those Skrulls and find them a place to settle down."
“…Okay.” Fury hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded.
"That's good." Chu Hang stood up and stretched. "I'll be going now. By the way, don't call me again, I'm very busy."
After saying that, he turned and left, but as he reached the door, he seemed to remember something, turned back and smiled, "Father? I like that name."
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure vanished into thin air.
Fury leaned back in his chair and let out a long breath, feeling his back soaked with cold sweat.
Since then, Carol Danvers has become Captain Marvel, the guardian of the universe, and occasionally returns to Earth to visit her friends.
Chu Hang, or rather Anthony Chen, completely vanished from S.H.I.E.L.D.'s sights. Like a true ghost, he quietly built his vast business empire and enjoyed a rare period of peace.
More than a decade has passed in the blink of an eye.
As the world entered a new millennium, technology advanced by leaps and bounds, and the stories of heroes seemed to have become distant legends.
Until one day in 2008.
While enjoying a sunbath on a private island in the South Pacific, Chu Hang's satellite phone, which had been encrypted for over a decade and had never rung, suddenly vibrated in his pocket.
There is only one icon on the caller ID.
Chu Hang frowned and answered the phone.
"It's me." From the other end of the phone came Fury's familiar yet much older voice, with a hint of barely suppressed anxiety in his tone.
"We're in trouble."
"A very important weapons supplier to the military has disappeared in Afghanistan."
Chapter 81 Tony O Shit Big Kick
"So?" Chu Hang rolled over, his backside facing the sun. "If they're missing, go find them. Aren't you S.H.I.E.L.D. supposed to be all-powerful? Why are you looking for me? I'm not some Good Samaritan."
"His name is Tony Stark."
Chu Hang stopped chewing on the grass root.
Fury's voice was full of helplessness, "Afghanistan is a godforsaken place, with mountains upon mountains, our people can't get in, and we can't find his exact location."
“That’s your problem.” Chu Hang lay back down. “I’m retired, Director Fury. Unless…”
“Conditions,” Fury replied quickly; he knew the rules.
"All of Howard Stark's research notes." Chu Hang's voice was calm, as if he were ordering a cup of coffee. "I want a complete, untouched copy. Including all his research on the Cosmic Cube."
There was a full five seconds of silence on the other end of the phone.
"Deal." Fury's voice sounded like it was being squeezed out from between his teeth.
"Coordinates," Chu Hang said, then hung up the phone.
He stood up from the beach chair, stretched, and his bones cracked and popped. He hadn't done any real work in over a decade; he wondered if his skills had become rusty.
Once you've taken on a job, you have to get to work. Before starting, I habitually take stock of my belongings.
He closed his eyes, his consciousness sinking into his body as he glanced at his super-powered photocopier.
