Chapter 108 The Battle of New York (Part Two)
The top floor of Stark Tower was a scene of utter chaos.
Tony and Thor grappled like two fighting bulls. The energy cannon and Thor's hammer flashed wildly, smashing the surrounding walls and furniture to pieces.
Outside, Manhattan was engulfed in flames. Chitauri artillery fire rained down from the sky, a cacophony of shrieks and explosions.
Loki stood beside him, holding a glass of wine, a sickly smile on his face, admiring his masterpiece.
Just then, a loud bang drowned out all the noise on the battlefield.
A beam of golden light shattered the remaining floor-to-ceiling windows and hovered in the center of the hall. When the light dissipated, it revealed Chu Hang. He was enveloped in a layer of flowing golden energy, his eyes terrifyingly bright.
He glanced at the hellish city outside, then at the two people still rolling on the ground, his brow furrowed.
"You two idiots, haven't you had enough?"
The sound wasn't loud, but Tony and Thor both stopped. They looked up and saw Chu Hang suspended in mid-air; the aura emanating from him made them instinctively feel pressure.
"There's a war going on outside, and you're playing wrestling here?" Chu Hang's voice was full of disdain. "Is this how Asgardians teach their heirs? Or is infighting the Stark family tradition?"
Tony's face flushed red. He got up from the ground and dusted himself off.
Thor also stood up, holding his hammer, looking somewhat embarrassed.
“He…” Thor tried to explain.
"I don't want to hear it," Chu Hang interrupted him, turning his gaze to Loki.
Loki's smile vanished. This man had shattered the Destroyer with a single punch in New Mexico. He sensed something similar to Odin emanating from Chu Hang.
“Mortal, you…” Loki instinctively tried to speak.
Chu Hang didn't give him a chance.
He raised his right hand and gently shook hands with Loki.
[Space Cage]
After acquiring the talent of being the number one mage in the Nine Realms, Chu Hang's mastery of spatial control became increasingly refined, leading to the development of many new techniques.
The space around Loki instantly warped, the air rippled like water, and then froze. A transparent cube appeared out of thin air and sealed him inside perfectly.
Loki's expression changed drastically, and he raised his scepter to smash it against the transparent wall.
The scepter was repelled by an invisible force, leaving his hands numb. He tried to attack with magic and use illusions to confuse, but the cube was like an absolute prison, isolating him from everything. All his power seemed to hit cotton.
"What is this?" Loki cried out in terror.
"It's just a cage." Chu Hang landed slowly, walked to the cube, and looked at Loki, who was struggling inside like a trapped beast. "Aren't you a god? In this cage, you look like a pet."
He stretched out his finger and gently touched the outer wall of the cube.
The cube rapidly shrank to a palm-sized cube, hovering in the air. Inside, Loki's figure was compressed into a blurry dot, still struggling in vain.
Chu Hang casually waved his hand, and the small cube flew to the corner, stuck to the wall, and remained motionless.
"Alright, the flies are taken care of." He turned around and looked at Tony and Thor.
Tony opened his mouth, wanting to ask what kind of technology it was, but looking at Chu Hang's face that seemed to say "Don't bother me," he swallowed his words back.
Thor had a complicated expression, feeling a pang of pity for Loki's fate while also being awestruck by Chu Hang's power.
"My younger brother..."
Just then, a Quinjet roared in and hovered outside the building.
The hatch opened, and Steve Rogers was the first to jump out, holding a shield.
Natasha followed closely behind, both of her hands holding guns.
Finally, there's Hawkeye Clint Barton, carrying a quiver and with sharp eyes, who has broken free from Loki's control.
"How's the situation?" Steve asked in a deep voice, looking at the devastated hall and the endless artillery fire outside.
“It’s terrible,” Tony replied. “The portal is open, and alien armies are pouring in. We need to find a way to close it.”
"Where's Loki?" Natasha asked.
Chu Hang pointed to the small square on the wall.
Everyone looked over, their faces blank.
“He’s quiet now. But he’s alright,” Chu Hang glanced at Thor and said simply. “Hawkeye, find a high vantage point; you need a good view.”
"Understood." Without hesitation, Barton turned and ran towards the higher parts of the building.
"Natasha, you and the captain are in charge of the ground, evacuating civilians and establishing a defensive line," Chu Hang continued, issuing orders.
"Tony, your armor is agile. Take charge of air support and clear out the small fry."
"Thor, you're strong and resilient. Stick with the captain and smash wherever you're needed."
He arranged everything perfectly for everyone.
Steve looked at him, nodded, and added, "Listen up, everyone. The top priority is to hold the line and protect the civilians. We must not let them breach Fifth Avenue until we find a way to shut down the portals."
He looked at Chu Hang: "And you?"
Chu Hang looked up at the Chitauri Leviathan warship in the sky, which resembled a giant whale as it weaved between buildings.
“I’m in charge of cleaning up the big guy, and,” he pointed to the wormhole in the sky, “I’ll figure out how to close that door.”
"Okay." Steve didn't ask any further questions. "Everyone, let's get going!"
The Avengers immediately scattered.
Steve and Natasha rushed downstairs. The streets were in chaos; cars were crashing together, and people were screaming and running for their lives. Chitauri soldiers on flying motorcycles were spraying bullets at the crowd with energy guns, like hunters.
Steve jumped onto the top of a bus and hurled his shield, knocking over three flying motorcycles.
"Hold this place! Cover the civilians' evacuation!" he shouted to the arriving police.
Natasha then slipped into cover and fired both guns simultaneously, accurately taking down several Chitauri soldiers who were about to open fire on the family.
Thor summoned lightning, jumped off the building, smashed a group of enemies with a single blow, and then rushed to the other side to relieve the pressure on Steve.
Tony flew out of the building and began attacking the aircraft with energy cannons and missiles, leaving trails of fire in the air.
Only Chu Hang remained in the hall.
He took a deep breath, and the golden light emanating from his entire body surged once more.
The next second, he shot into the sky like a cannonball, heading straight for the rampaging Leviathan behemoth.
Leviathan spotted him, opened its massive metal maw, and let out a deafening roar. The cannons on both sides of its body began to charge, and dozens of energy beams shot towards Chu Hang.
Chu Hang's speed did not slow down at all. The space around his body was slightly distorted, and all the beams of light flew past him, hitting the tall buildings behind him and blasting several large holes.
He faced the giant beast, drawing a straight golden trajectory in the air.
Just as the two were about to collide, he raised his right hand, spread his five fingers, and slashed downwards sharply.
【Space·Dividing】
A tiny, almost invisible black crack, like a bolt of lightning, shot from his fingertip and instantly sliced across Leviathan's massive body.
No sound, no explosion.
Leviathan's roar abruptly ceased. Its massive body paused in mid-air for a second.
Then, from beginning to end, a perfectly smooth cut appeared.
The entire giant warship was neatly divided into two halves.
The incision is as smooth as a mirror, and the complex internal mechanical structure and biological tissues are clearly visible.
The two halves of the wreckage continued to fly forward for several hundred meters due to inertia before crashing helplessly to the ground, causing two massive explosions and towering plumes of smoke.
On the ground, Steve, who was directing the police to set up a defensive line, saw this scene and paused for a moment.
In the air, Tony, who was locked in combat with several aircraft, also saw it through the screen on his helmet.
"Jarvis, what was that just now?"
"Sir, we cannot analyze it. It seems to be some kind of spatial displacement or dimensional cutting, which is beyond the scope of current physics."
Tony was silent.
In the sky, Chu Hang hovered in place, his face a little pale.
He could feel that this attack had consumed nearly one-twentieth of the cosmic energy within him.
This move is incredibly powerful, but it also consumes a tremendous amount of energy. Fortunately, his recovery ability is also strong, so this kind of consumption doesn't bother him.
He could clearly sense that as his understanding of spatial power deepened, the consumption would decrease exponentially.
He looked up at the wormhole that was still spewing out enemies.
"However, this kind of scenario is more suitable for the [Binary Form] to harvest."
Chapter 109 The Battle of New York (Part 3)
Another Leviathan was cleaved in two and crashed onto the street.
Two massive metal fragments, trailing flames and thick smoke, crashed into two office buildings. Glass curtain walls collapsed like waterfalls, and fragments of reinforced concrete rained down onto the street below, triggering another round of explosions and screams.
Chu Hang hovered in the air, and could feel that the energy in his body had decreased.
[Life Returns to its Source] is being replenished rapidly, but the speed is not keeping up.
He looked up and saw two more identical giant beasts emerge from the wormhole, followed by a dark mass of flying machines, like locusts swarming out of hell.
Movie scenes flashed through his mind. Loki's scepter was the key to closing doors.
The activation device should be located on the roof of Stark Tower, operated by the controlled Dr. Sullivan.
He transformed into a golden ray of light and returned to the terrace.
The place was empty, with only broken glass and spilled wine on the ground.
There was no device, and no Dr. Szavig.
Chu Hang rushed into the building and searched all the offices on the top floor.
He cursed.
