Although the two women still had doubts, they temporarily accepted the idea.
Just then, several fully armed SWAT officers rushed in. After all, Su Chang had reported that there was a gang gathering here and that knives had been used, so the Public Security Bureau naturally dispatched SWAT officers to handle the situation.
"Who just reported the incident?" a man who appeared to be a SWAT team captain asked loudly when he saw a crowd gathered in the area.
Su Chang finally escaped the two women's questioning and stood up, saying, "I was the one who reported the case."
The SWAT team leader walked up to him and asked, "Hello, comrade, where are the gangsters you reported?"
Su Chang turned his head and saw that his underlings had slipped away at some point. He pointed to Da Fei and Biao Zi on the ground and said, "That's them. Some others ran away. They can find out what happened by checking the surveillance footage." After saying that, he pointed to the broken dagger on the ground and said to the SWAT team leader, "Officer, that dagger is the murder weapon."
The SWAT captain frowned, his gaze sweeping back and forth between the broken dagger on the ground, the two men lying on the ground, and the energetic Su Chang. He was filled with doubt, wondering what had just happened.
He took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, and then waved to the SWAT officers behind him: "You, go check the surveillance footage." He pointed to one of the officers and said seriously.
Then he pointed to two other SWAT officers: "You two, keep an eye on Dafei and Biaozi, don't let them get away."
The other SWAT officers quickly dispersed to question bystanders and collect evidence. He himself, however, kept a close eye on Su Chang, a hint of wariness in his eyes. For some reason, he had a feeling that Su Chang was the most dangerous person among them.
Su Chang noticed the special police officer's gaze, and a slight, disdainful smile appeared on his lips. He thought to himself, "Go ahead and stare if you want, I really don't know what's wrong with your brain." He then casually chatted with Xu Hongdou and Chen Nanxing.
Looking at Su Chang's expression, the SWAT captain was puzzled. He wondered to himself, "Is this person alright, or does he have some powerful backer?"
And just like that, the scene became strangely orderly, and I, as a bystander, was questioned by the police.
"Captain, the surveillance footage has been retrieved." A SWAT officer whispered in the captain's ear, then briefly recounted what he had seen to the captain.
The SWAT captain nodded, his gaze falling on Su Chang again, giving him a meaningful look. Then, he waved his hand, signaling his men to handcuff Da Fei and Biao Zi and take them away.
"Sir, I'm sorry, but we need you to come back with us to make a statement. Is that alright?" The SWAT team leader walked up to Su Chang and said politely.
Su Chang looked at Xu Hongdou and Chen Nanxing, hesitated for a moment, then pointed at them and said to the SWAT team leader, "Officer, I have no problem giving a statement, but could you arrange for someone to take these two beauties home?"
"Preferably a policewoman," Su Chang added after thinking for a moment.
"No problem." The police captain was speechless when he heard Su Chang's words. We are police officers, what can we do to them? But little did he know that Su Chang was a very petty person, how could she allow other men to take them home.
Just as the SWAT team leader was about to arrange for someone to escort the two women away, the two women had already come to Su Chang's side and were tightly hugging his arm.
“Let’s go together.” Xu Hongdou’s eyes were firm, revealing an unyielding determination.
“Yes, let’s go together. We’ll share the good times and the bad!” Chen Nanxing patted his chest and echoed, a hint of stubbornness on his face.
Seeing the "you're dead if you don't agree" expressions on their faces, Su Chang shook his head helplessly and could only agree. He nodded to the SWAT team leader with an awkward smile and then left the bar together.
After giving a brief statement at the police station, Su Chang told the SWAT team leader that his lawyer would be handling the case the next day. The SWAT team leader said no problem; he knew through the internal system that Su Chang was quite wealthy, having just returned from studying abroad and inherited his father's estate. As for his other assets, that was unknown.
Although the SWAT team leader was eager to know where Su Chang had learned his impressive skills, Su Chang refused to say, and he couldn't press the matter further. After all, Su Chang had been forced to fight back throughout the case, so he let Su Chang go.
Su Chang walked out of the interrogation room and saw Xu Hongdou and Chen Nanxing asleep on a bench in the corridor, their heads leaning against each other. A bitter smile appeared on his face.
He thought to himself, "These two girls are actually asleep here, really."
Su Chang gently woke Chen Nanxing. Chen Nanxing opened his eyes and was about to speak excitedly when he saw Su Chang. Su Chang quickly put his right index finger to his lips to make a shushing gesture, and then pointed at Xu Hongdou.
A hint of dissatisfaction appeared on Chen Nanxing's face. She pouted and complained inwardly, "Su Chang really favors Hongdou. I'm a girl too, you know?"
If Su Chang knew what Chen Nanxing was thinking, he would definitely think, "You call yourself a girl? You're a tomboy, okay? Have you forgotten how you chased me all over the neighborhood with a baseball bat?"
Su Chang gently scooped Xu Hongdou up in a princess carry, then gestured to Chen Nanxing with her chin, indicating that she should follow. Although Chen Nanxing was somewhat reluctant, she muttered a couple of complaints before following along.
The next morning, after making breakfast for Xu Hongdou and the other girl, Su Chang went straight to meet up with Li Na. After Li Na finished contacting the special police, Su Chang went to Xu Hongdou's house again.
He knocked gently on the door, and it opened to reveal Chen Nanxing. Su Chang asked with a smile, "Nanxing, isn't Hongdou up yet?"
Chen Nanxing pouted, looking unhappy. She was still thinking about how Su Chang had treated her and Hongdou differently last night, so she didn't want to talk to him.
Seeing Chen Nanxing's reaction, Su Chang felt somewhat helpless, but he didn't ask any further questions. He glanced at the two breakfasts already finished on the table and secretly wondered, "Hongdou must have gotten up, but she probably doesn't know how to face me, so she went back to her room."
Su Chang wasn't about to let this golden opportunity slip by. He knew that while the hero rescuing the damsel in distress was a cliché, it would never go out of style. If he didn't seize the moment while Xu Hongdou was wavering, things would get complicated once she calmed down. So, without hesitation, he knocked on Xu Hongdou's door.
Su Chang waited for a long time but didn't hear any sound coming from inside. He couldn't help but wonder if he had guessed wrong, and was just about to ask Chen Nanxing when Xu Hongdou's voice finally came from inside the room: "Come in!"
Su Chang was overjoyed and hurriedly opened the door and went inside. As soon as he entered, he saw Xu Hongdou sitting quietly by the window, gazing outside with a hint of confusion in her eyes.
Xu Hongdou didn't even turn her head, and asked stiffly, "Is there something you need?" Her voice no longer held the tenderness of last night, as if she were a completely different person.
Su Chang wasn't in a hurry. He slowly walked to the window, looked at Xu Hongdou's back, and said softly, "Hongdou, come back to Shanghai with me, okay?"
Xu Hongdou turned around and stared at Su Chang for a full five minutes. Su Chang didn't look away; his gaze was firm yet gentle, as if telling Xu Hongdou that he was serious.
Chapter Ninety-Five Starfruit
Finally, Xu Hongdou sighed deeply and said, "Forget it, Su Chang, go back by yourself. We'll talk about our things later." Her voice carried a hint of helplessness and determination.
Su Chang was unwilling to give up. He grabbed Xu Hongdou's hand and said urgently, "Hongdou, come back with me."
Xu Hongdou tried to shake off Su Chang's hand, but she wasn't as strong as him and couldn't get away. She wasn't actually against Su Chang's touch, but the thought that he already had a girlfriend made her feel like she was being pricked by needles, so she just let the shameless Su Chang hold on.
"Hongdou, I know I'm a bit too loving, but I'm serious about each and every one of you. Do you know how much it hurt me when you said you were leaving me?" Su Chang said with deep emotion, clutching her chest, completely forgetting that after being chased away by Xu Hongdou and Chen Nanxing yesterday, she had gone to get Yang Tao and Lan Weiwei's contact information in preparation for going on blind dates with them.
Xu Hongdou kept her head down, her brows slightly furrowed, looking deep in thought. Her heart was filled with contradictions and pain. She admitted that she liked Su Chang, and it wasn't just a simple matter of having a crush on him. But this jerk actually wanted to have several girlfriends, which was completely different from the love she had in mind.
Su Chang racked his brains, trying to recall the videos he had watched in his previous life, hoping to find a way to persuade Xu Hongdou. Then, as if he had thought of something, he hugged Xu Hongdou tightly.
Xu Hongdou screamed in surprise, her heart racing. Instinctively, she raised her hand and slapped Su Chang. Su Chang looked surprised. He didn't understand why his action had elicited such a reaction. After all, the video said that all it took to appease a girlfriend was hugging, kissing, and lifting her up high. Had he been tricked again? He was speechless with frustration.
"You like me? I think you're just lusting after me because of my looks." Xu Hongdou's tone was tinged with anger, but her eyes revealed a hint of expectation. As for what she was expecting, no one knew.
"Ahem!" Su Chang coughed twice, a hint of embarrassment on his face, but he quickly regained his composure. "What are you saying? Everyone likes beautiful things. If I were ugly, you probably wouldn't even be talking to me here, right? I admit I was initially attracted to you because of your looks, but that's not all. It's called starting with appearance and ending with character. You're so good to Nanxing, you even quit your job for her. You're so kind, how could I not like you?" Su Chang's words were full of sincerity; he hoped Xu Hongdou could believe in his feelings.
A blush crept onto Xu Hongdou's face, and she felt a warmth in her heart. She knew Su Chang meant what he said, but she still hoped he could belong to her alone: "Can't you just have me?" Xu Hongdou asked Su Chang earnestly, her eyes filled with longing and unease.
Looking into Xu Hongdou's eyes, Su Chang sensed her sincerity and determination. He felt a struggle within himself, after all, he couldn't possibly give up the whole forest for one tree.
"Hongdou, do you think if I give up them for you, then if another woman comes along, will I have to give you up too? Wouldn't that make me a scumbag? I can't do that," Su Chang explained helplessly, a troubled expression on his face.
"Hmph! You've always been a scumbag." Xu Hongdou rolled her eyes in annoyance. Although she understood that Su Chang's words made sense, she was still somewhat unwilling. After all, who would want to share the man they liked with another woman? She bit her lip and continued to ponder.
Su Chang thought for a moment, then said, "Hongdou, how about this? You've resigned now, right? I happen to have a guesthouse in Shanghai that's unmanaged. How about you do me a favor and go over there to manage it for me?" His eyes revealed a hint of expectation.
Xu Hongdou knew that Su Chang was just making excuses to bring her back to Shanghai, but she really didn't want to give up on him like that. She hesitated for a moment and said, "Okay then, but it's settled then, I'll only be in charge of managing the guesthouse. We'll talk about other things later. If you agree, I'll go; if you don't, then forget it, okay?" She looked at Su Chang with a determined gaze, wanting to get a positive answer from his eyes.
"Ah, no problem." Su Chang immediately agreed, secretly pleased, feeling that his plan was half successful.
Afterwards, Xu Hongdou told Su Chang to go back to Shanghai first, while she would stay in Kyoto with Nanxing for a few more days. She was actually just making an excuse for herself so that she wouldn't turn around and go back to Shanghai with Su Chang right after saying she was ignoring him. That would be too unreserved.
Su Chang pretended to be hesitant and agreed, but he was secretly overjoyed. He thought to himself, "Once you get to Shanghai, I'll be in charge. Besides, I can also see Yang Tao and Lan Weiwei these next few days."
After leaving Xu Hongdou's house, Su Chang went straight to the four-star hotel where Yang Tao worked. Upon entering the hotel, his gaze was immediately drawn to Yang Tao, who was dressed in a formal suit and wore delicate makeup. Yang Tao was like a blooming flower, dazzling and eye-catching wherever she was placed.
Su Chang didn't rush to greet her. Instead, he casually found a window seat in the lobby, ordered a coffee, and continued observing Yang Tao. His eyes revealed a hint of admiration and fascination.
After watching for a while, a waiter suddenly walked up to Yang Tao and whispered something in her ear. Yang Tao's gaze immediately turned towards Su Chang. Su Chang did not avoid her gaze, but smiled and nodded at her. A hint of doubt flashed in Yang Tao's eyes, but she still nodded kindly.
Yang Tao approached Su Chang and asked softly, "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?" Her voice was clear and pleasant, with a hint of politeness and distance.
Su Chang smiled inwardly, deciding not to follow Xue Sumei's plan for that ridiculous chance encounter anymore. So she said directly, "Hello, beautiful Peach, my name is Su Chang. I'm the one your mother arranged for you to have a blind date."
"Ahem!" Yang Tao was clearly taken aback by Su Chang's directness. Who knew Su Chang would be so blunt? She coughed twice, trying to ease her embarrassment.
She touched her bangs, a shy smile on her face, and said softly, "Mr. Su Chang, um... I'm still at work right now, can we talk later?"
Su Chang looked at Yang Tao and smiled as she replied, "No problem, you go ahead and do your work. We can talk again after you get off work."
"Okay," Yang Tao replied with a smile, then turned to get busy. Her steps were light and her figure graceful, like an elegant swan. Su Chang continued to drink his coffee while watching Yang Tao's busy figure, his heart filled with anticipation.
When it was lunchtime, Yang Tao came to Su Chang again. Su Chang pushed the coffee she had just ordered to the seat opposite her and said familiarly, "You've been busy all morning, sit down and have a cup of coffee first."
"Thank you!" Yang Tao said, then sat down elegantly opposite Su Chang, took a sip of her coffee, and said, "Mr. Su Chang, you must be quite young. Why did you decide to come here for a blind date?" Her eyes were full of doubt and curiosity, which was something she had never been able to figure out. After all, Su Chang was handsome, and judging from his clothes, he should be well-off and not lacking in women.
Su Chang smiled slightly, a smile that seemed to carry a hint of mystery. He said softly, "Actually, I didn't plan to go on a blind date at first. That day, I was going to take a walk in the park..." His gaze was somewhat unfocused, as if he were lost in memories.
Yang Tao listened quietly as Su Chang recounted his experience at the park that day, her expression shifting between surprise and speechlessness. When she heard about Xue Sumei and Lan Caiping coming to him, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, thinking to herself that those two fake friends were really something else.
However, her doubts only grew, and she asked, "Mr. Su Chang, then you..."
Su Chang quickly interrupted, "Beautiful Peach, just call me Su Chang. Calling me 'Mr.' all the time feels so formal. People who don't know better might think I'm your customer."
Yang Tao didn't mind Su Chang's sudden interruption. She continued to ask, "Okay, Su Chang, if you weren't going on a blind date, why are you here with me now?" She stared intently into Su Chang's eyes, wanting to know Su Chang's true thoughts.

Su Chang revealed a wicked smile, his gaze fixed on Yang Tao, and said, "I came because I saw your photo." His voice was deep and magnetic, as if it possessed an irresistible charm.
"Ahem!" Yang Tao was startled by Su Chang's eager gaze and blunt words. She quickly took a sip of coffee to calm herself. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she muttered to herself: Why is this man so direct!
Yang Tao said somewhat embarrassedly, "Um... Su Chang, please stop joking with me. I'm almost 30, an old woman..." A hint of insecurity flickered in her eyes, as if she were worried about her age. After all, Xue Sumei had often brought up her age, making her seem like she was over 30 at 28. (The original character was 32; I changed it a bit younger.)
Su Chang, however, disagreed. He looked at Yang Tao seriously and said, "Beautiful Peach, perhaps you have some misunderstanding about your charm?"
His words were full of sincerity, which made Yang Tao feel a little happy. After all, what woman doesn't like to be praised for her beauty? Su Chang continued, "And Peach, if you say you're an old woman, then there are probably not many young women on the street."
Yang Tao smiled shyly, waved her hands repeatedly, and said, "No, no."
..... ..... ...
If it weren't for her smile, which was even harder to suppress than an AK, Su Chang would have actually believed it. Then, Su Chang was attracted by Yang Tao's smile and said with a smile, "Beautiful Tao, how about this, it's noon, let's go to your hotel restaurant to grab a bite and continue chatting, what do you say?"
Yang Tao thought for a moment, then nodded slightly and led Su Chang towards the hotel restaurant. She felt a little uneasy, wondering how their conversation would go during the meal.
After Yang Tao and her companion left, the staff in the lobby pointed at them and whispered behind their backs, but Su Chang and Yang Tao were unaware of this, and even if they had, Su Chang wouldn't have cared.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Su Chang once again chose a window seat and asked Yang Tao to order first. Yang Tao took the menu, hesitated for a moment, and then ordered a few vegetarian dishes.
Su Chang teased, "With such a great figure, you still eat so little. How are the other women supposed to live?" He then took the menu and ordered a few more meat dishes. Since it was lunchtime, he didn't order any alcohol.
After the waiter left, Su Chang first told Yang Tao about her basic situation. Yang Tao felt a chill when she heard that Su Chang was only 21 years old and spent most of her time in Shanghai. She remembered her mother Xue Sumei's warning not to marry far away. However, at the same time, she also sensed that Su Chang was indeed very outstanding, and she couldn't help but feel conflicted.
Yang Tao could only give a brief self-introduction. She felt very ordinary in front of Su Chang and was somewhat disappointed.
Su Chang had actually deliberately revealed a small portion of his wealth, otherwise he might have scared Taozi away. Looking at Yang Tao's expression, he could roughly guess what she was thinking. She wasn't Lan Weiwei; while she didn't deny the influence of material possessions, she wouldn't be completely swayed by money.
Then, Su Chang pretended not to know and asked, "Peach, you're so pretty, you should have a lot of men pursuing you, so why are you still single?"
Upon hearing this, Yang Tao's mood suddenly sombered, a hint of sadness appearing in her eyes. Su Chang knew Yang Tao was probably thinking of Li Wei. He remembered Li Wei, under the alias Zhuang Yan, was currently with that scheming woman, Lan Weiwei. He wondered whether he should stir up trouble or wait for Xue Sumei to discover it—that was the question.
Yang Tao took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She said softly, "Actually, I had a relationship before, but... we broke up in the end." Her voice carried a hint of helplessness and pain.
Seeing her like this, Su Chang felt a pang of heartache. He comforted her, "Don't be sad. Let bygones be bygones. The future will be better." Yang Tao looked at Su Chang gratefully, and the gloom in her heart seemed to dissipate a little. Little did she know that this was all because Su Chang had deliberately stirred things up.
Chapter Ninety-Six: Making Trouble
The next morning, Su Chang drove the new car he had bought from Brother Ding the night before and arrived early at the yoga room where Lan Weiwei worked.
