Chapter 19 Questioning

Upon receiving the notification from the main god, Geralt immediately looked at Zheng Zha, Zhan Lan, Zhu Peng, and Li Xiaoyi.

Seeing the expressions on the four people's faces, it was immediately clear that they had also gained reward points and side quests.

However, Geralt didn't know how much each of the four had received, and the current situation wasn't suitable for asking about such things.

Seeing Matthew, Kaplan, and the others already inside the Flame Queen's main control room, Geralt said, "Let's go in too!"

After saying that, Geralt gestured to Matt, "Take this guy with you too, we're all going in together!"

Spencer immediately refused, saying, "I'm not going in!"

Geralt narrowed his eyes slightly upon hearing this, and asked in a low voice, "Are you sure?"

Matt shoved Spence, who stumbled and nearly fell. Spence glared at Matt, then glanced at Geralt's malicious gaze, cursed under his breath, and headed toward the laser tunnel.

Geralt then called out to Rain and JD, and the group walked through the laser tunnel together, following closely behind Matthew and the others.

As soon as Geralt and the others entered, they saw Matthew, Kaplan, and the others cautiously looking around, clearly still deeply concerned about the laser tunnel they had just encountered.

Matthew didn't react when Geralt and the others came in, pretending not to see them.

After a brief inspection, Matthew instructed, "Kaplan, let's get started!"

Kaplan nodded and began operating the small computer on his arm.

Then, the floor in the center of the room slowly opened, and a silver-white cylinder slowly rose up. The Flame Queen's motherboard was installed inside.

"Help me!"

Kaplan gestured to his teammates to help him lift the electronic pulse device that shut down the Flame Queen and place it on the silver-white cylinder.

At that moment, a device in the room that looked like a camera started to rotate, and Geralt noticed it and looked at it warily.

Kaplan, unfazed, said, "Don't worry, that's just Red Queen's holographic projection device; it's not a threat."

Sure enough, a little girl made of red light appeared next to the cylinder and shouted, "Get out! All of you, get out!"

"You can't take my motherboard; it will shut down the Hive's power system."

Kaplan continued working with his hands while cursing back:

"Shut up, you murderer!"

Seeing Kaplan's continued actions, Red Queen said, "I beg you, take our motherboard, and you will all die here."

At this moment, Geralt reached out and placed his hand on Kaplan's shoulder, saying, "Wait a minute, let her explain herself."

Kaplan may disregard the Red Queen's words, but he dares not disobey Geralt's.

Kaplan immediately said urgently, "Don't believe anything she says. Everything she says is just to stop us from taking her motherboard."

"Have you forgotten about the power outage down the stairs and the laser tunnel outside?"

Matthew also spoke up, "We don't have much time left; we need to get out of here quickly."

Geralt first forcefully pulled Kaplan away from the silvery-white cylinder, then said:

"Don't you want to know what's going on with those monsters at Restaurant B?"

Seeing this, Zhan Lan added, "You also want to know why the company sent you on this mission but didn't tell you the truth, right?"

Matthew and his teammates began to show hesitation.

Geralt looked at Red Queen and said, "Tell us about the origins of the monsters in Restaurant B, and what exactly happened at this Hive?"

Zhan Lan, standing nearby, immediately added a threat: "Don't even think about lying, or we'll take your motherboard away right now!"

Spence, standing nearby, was even more anxious because of the time constraints, and shouted:

"Say it!"

Seeing this, the Red Queen glanced at Spencer, then replied in a measured tone:

"Okay, since you're short on time, I'll just give a brief overview."

"The monsters in Restaurant B are called Lickers. They are products developed by the company as a breakthrough in the field of biological weapons, based on its research into the T-virus."

"Someone broke a T-virus, causing it to spread into the hive's ventilation ducts and contaminate the entire hive. To prevent further leakage, I took the necessary actions in accordance with procedures!"

Matt, who was standing nearby, heard this and angrily cursed, "Damn it!"

At this point, Alice asked, "What is the T-virus?"

The Red Queen's holographic projection looked at Alice and said, "The T-virus can be simply understood as a highly contagious virus that can continuously evolve with its environment. This virus infects living organisms, causing them to eventually survive only with their most basic instincts!"

Kaplan asked, "What do you need?"

The Red Queen looked at Kaplan and said, "Appetite!"

These words startled everyone.

Alice asked, puzzled, "So that's why you want to kill us, because you see us as potential infected beings?"

The Red Queen replied, "That's right, the T-virus has spread throughout the entire Hive, and you have all inhaled some form of it!"

Upon hearing this, Ryan directly questioned:

"You're talking nonsense, trying to cover up your murderous acts. Then why haven't we mutated yet?"

The Red Queen looked at Raine and said, "There's very little data on T-virus inhalation experiments. You're the first case. Based on our deductions, the reason you haven't mutated yet might be that the viral load you inhaled wasn't high enough, or that the time between inhalations was too short!"

"But whatever the outcome, you all have a chance of being infected, so I will not let you leave here."

Upon hearing this, Rain was immediately taken aback and said:

"Shut this bitch immediately. She's full of lies and just wants us to give up hope and die here."

Geralt said, "Quiet, ma'am!"

After saying that, Geralt had one last thing to do with the Red Queen: "The Red Queen, tell me who destroyed the T-virus, causing the leak."

The Red Queen looked at Spence, whose hands were cuffed, and said, "Spence is the one who shattered the T-virus, causing the virus to leak."

Seeing the hostile looks from the crowd, Spencer quickly explained, "It wasn't me. Don't believe her. She's just a machine. Have you forgotten what she did before?"

"She wants us to kill each other and all die here."

As soon as Spence finished speaking, Red Queen used another holographic projection device in the room to play a video.

The protagonist in the video is none other than our aggrieved Spencer. In the video, it is clearly visible that Spencer deliberately and intentionally smashed the T-virus.
