I'm living off a woman in Arknights.

Then, laughing it off and avoiding the main point, he said, "These two are Manju, a kind of derivative creature created by the combined effects of energy and machinery. They are all talented individuals, extremely skilled in their respective fields, and will only become more and more powerful..."

After Yun Yi finished speaking, he cautiously glanced at Shi Huaiya.

Swire didn't react otherwise, only urging with interest, "And then? What are you two barbarians good at?"

Does this mean they're not going to pursue the matter of her wasting points?

Although she didn't think it was a waste—but Swire made it sound like she wanted her, and now she was spending all her points on improving her strength, while Swire was the provider of those points.

We should still respect the funding provider, at least for now.

Yun Yi, a former employee with a strong sense of responsibility, thought to himself.

In short, seeing that Swire only focused on the Manjiu, Yunyi immediately felt that he had escaped this calamity, so he relaxed and picked up the little Manjiu at his feet to start introducing it.

PS:

It's a bit cold today.

This awful weather is like a disco, constantly changing between hot and cold.

It would be quite fun if we could change clothes in time (but we can't).

Volume Two: Fireworks at Longmen - Chapter Thirty-Five is about people with rigid thinking who prefer brute force to solve problems.

"This is the small but powerful 001. I chose housekeeping as its specialty; it excels at anything related to cleaning, decorating, cooking, sewing, and so on!"

"This big one over here is 002, and it's equally capable. I chose its specialization in technology, which allows it to independently develop and disassemble various scientific and technological technologies. By the way, it prefers power-related technologies."

Yun Yi stepped aside to make way for 002, which looked quite large even when lying down and whose expression showed even more vigilance. He suggested, "If you give it some Originium-related technology, it would probably like it very much."

After giving his introduction and suggestions, Yunyi patted the two dogs, signaling them to go play or rest on their own.

In short, stay away from Swire's sight!

Seeing Yun Yi's increasingly obvious words and actions, Swire's eyes gleamed with understanding: "So, these two magical creatures weren't found from somewhere, but rather, um—"

As she spoke, she let out a soft moan, a slightly mocking smile playing on her lips, before continuing, "It was redeemed from the system shop, right?"

Swire deliberately dragged out and raised the last two syllables, her voice carrying a hint of laughter that echoed in the quiet room, like a hook tugging at Yunyi's heart.

So that's where they were waiting for her!

Yun Yi froze.

As Swire's laughter echoed in the background, she lowered her head, her shoulders slumped, and her voice, like a punctured balloon, became weak and feeble: "Yes."

The attempt to fool them failed...

Swire was angry before, so this time she might be about to start a "tightening spell".

Yun Yiguang felt a headache coming on just thinking about it.

Swire finished laughing, but only slightly raised the corners of her lips and said, "Alright, don't worry. Didn't you redeem this 'barbaric bird' before I suggested 'don't spend points on anything other than strength'? So, I won't say anything to you."

"Besides, since the changes have already been made, I don't have time to waste precious time on facts that cannot be changed."

Yun Yi immediately perked up, exclaiming in surprise, "Really?"

Shouldn't we stop thinking about her?

“Really. Because I think you have a bigger problem in another aspect—you pretend to look away for a moment, and Yunyi falls for it and leaks information. That won’t do.” After saying this, Swire didn’t let Yunyi off the hook.

She held Yunyi's hand and talked for half an hour, stuffing her mind with a bunch of interrogation techniques and corresponding chess skills, and emphasizing that she must practice them diligently.

“These skills are useful when talking, communicating, and getting along with any unfriendly person with ulterior motives.” After giving her advice, Swire solemnly added, “You have a lot of secrets, so don’t let this avoidable problem make an already bad situation even more difficult to handle.”

That would only increase Yunyi's workload for no reason.

"Okay," Yun Yi replied, still feeling dizzy.

Looking at Yun Yi, who seemed dizzy, Swire realized what was wrong with her and let out a sigh: "Are you an idiot?"

She walked back to Yun Yi's side, tapped her head and said, "Idiot, wake up! You'll forget everything you remember now in the blink of an eye!"

Yun Yi tilted his head slightly, following her force, his soft white hair falling over his shoulders, his bright pupils, a mixture of gold and flames, reflecting the figure of Swire in front of him.

Maintaining this downward-looking posture, Yun Yi's eyelashes trembled slightly, and he said in a soft, confused tone, "Then why are you telling me all of this?"

"I've said all this just so you can have a general understanding of it. As for the rest? You can learn more about it when you have time, using your training ground function." Swire ran her knuckles across Yun Yi's slightly cool forehead and tapped it.

Her eyebrows curved into crescent moons, and a indulgent smile, as if she had been amused by a child, appeared on her lips as she said, "Yunyi, did you only start working before you came to Terra? Or did no one in your original land need to work? Or were you the only one who didn't need to work?"

When someone tells me to memorize something, I really want to memorize it all on the spot without missing a single word, without even needing any supplementary notes.

Anyone who has been engaged in serious work for a long time should not be so stubborn.

At least Swire only ever saw people like that on campus, and never encountered them again after starting work.

“I’ve been working for several years now.” Yun Yi scratched his face. “Before I came here, I had to work hard every day. I changed jobs several times, but I still had to run around to work every day.”

Then, after working herself to the bone for half a day, all the money she earned went into her own mouth and a place to stay.

Having no savings whatsoever, life was incredibly difficult; it was truly just about surviving.

Is this possible?

Having learned his lesson in his past life, Yun Yi decided to cut ties completely and start his own business.

Then I created myself in Arknights, on the continent of Terra. I can only say thankfully it wasn't Warhammer Terra or Terraria.

"You've been working for several years...?" Swire's tiger ears perked up as she stared at Yun Yi in disbelief. "How did you do that?"

How come they didn't die from exhaustion? Or is it because the workload on land outside the earth is lower?

But Yunyi said that he had been working non-stop, and the work there didn't sound like it was low-intensity.

"So, normal work?" Yun Yi looked at Shi Huaiya blankly, not quite understanding what she was asking.

How else can she do her job? Isn't it just doing what her boss asks, doing what the client asks, stopping colleagues who misbehave, and cleaning up after subordinates who cause trouble?

A few simple thoughts flashed through Yun Yi's mind, and he raised his eyes and spoke out these ideas that were swirling in his mind without reservation.

"This is... normal work." Swire's eyelashes trembled slightly. Was the land of Yunyi a little too terrifying?

Shouldn't this kind of work model belong to an extremely small minority?

"You've worked hard, Yunyi." Swire patted Yunyi's shoulder, her eyes filled with pity, and said, "Don't just blindly follow orders and take on everything yourself in the future. You'll be exhausted in Terra."

"Worked to death? It seems so..." Yun Yi's mind immediately recalled the time when she hadn't completely quit her job—if she continued, she might actually be able to get to Terra faster than if she had started her own business.

Just recalling that pain made Yun Yi shudder as if struck by lightning, and he wholeheartedly agreed, "You're right."

Immediately, she said with a bitter face, "Obedience is the switch to workplace torture. No wonder I'm exhausted like a dehydrated fish every day... But I see that my other colleagues are also quite tired."

“As long as it’s work, no matter how you choose to approach it, everyone will have their own difficulties,” Swire simply pointed out, then smiled and added, “It’s just that your approach has a lot more difficulties—very few people would stick to it.”

It's too painful. Anyone with a brain would gradually realize that it's unnecessary.

"Before you said it, I didn't feel anything, I just felt tired and wanted to change jobs." Instead of changing the way you did it.

Yun Yi also realized that he seemed to be a bit... rigid, or conventional, but in short, he didn't seem to be able to think outside the box.

Yunyi then thought about his decision to start his own business and rejected the idea.

No one who sticks to the old ways would take the risk of starting a business.

It's probably because of her inexplicable mental block in her work attitude that she got stuck in a mental rut; it's hard to say about other aspects...

The thought had barely formed in her mind when Yun Yi's throat tightened inexplicably, and her face felt inexplicably hot, the heat burning her.

Is this a sign of guilt?

Feeling this sudden surge of emotion that contradicted her rational analysis, Yun Yi belatedly blinked and obediently thought to herself:

I think I should observe myself more closely for now.

PS:

I'm still a newbie after all these years.

The divine being, Yunyi.

But you have to be that stubborn.

Volume Two: Fireworks at Longmen: Chapter Thirty-Six - Those who lack martial ethics try to deceive and ambush; once found, their heads will be ripped off!

Maybe I really am just a bit rigid.

Relying on his physical sensations, Yun Yi quickly changed his mind and made up his mind again.

Swire quietly leaned closer and raised her hand, her fingertips touching the warm, smooth skin on Yunyi's forehead, interrupting her reverie and comforting her, "Don't think about the past. Since it's over, look forward. Remember to be flexible and adaptable to actual needs in the future."

Yun Yi nodded, his hair brushing against his brow bone, his gaze revealing a solemnity, as if silently promising to imprint Swire's words into his heart.

Adaptability...?

Yunyi pondered how to respond flexibly—in fact, she rationally believed that she was quite flexible, but Swire and her own emotions seemed to think otherwise.

After thinking for a long time, Yun Yi's mind was still blank, without any inspiration.

Just as she was about to continue thinking, Swire's terminal, which had been silently watching her, rang.

Their eyes met for a moment before both focusing on the buzzing terminal.

"It's not broken?" Swire raised her eyebrows, her eyes shining with joy.

As she withdrew her hand and picked up the terminal to examine it, she analyzed, "It seems that the group that tampered with the communication signals did not use a method that would cause irreversible damage."

"Whose electricity and communications are these?" Yun Yi's gaze followed the terminal that was taken out, guessing who the caller was and observing the terminal's appearance.

The materials and style of the Swire terminal were almost identical to the one she gave to Yunyi.

Overall, the only difference is that there is an embossed Guard Bureau logo on the back of the terminal.

The relief on the Yunyi terminal is a string of Victorian words arranged in a circle.

After subconsciously comparing it in her mind, Yun Yi suddenly remembered that she didn't seem to have told Swire that if the gift wasn't personally delivered by the contracted party, the system would consider it an invalid gift and wouldn't award any points.

The terminal was essentially given away for free.

I'll have to tell Swire about this after the communication ends.

Yun Yi memorized this thought and returned his attention to the terminal.

Just then, Swire unlocked the door and saw the caller ID.

"It's Old Chen," Swire announced, then answered the call and launched into a tirade: "Rice Noodle Dragon, you only remember to contact me now? *Longmen swear word* Where were you all this time! Look at the time! You're really something, if you had been any later, you could have just been collecting my corpse!"

"What nonsense are you spouting, you bastard! We've been looking for you like crazy!" Chen cursed on the other end of the communicator, "You damn bastard, get back here right now! You sent out a distress signal and you're not even there? You want to die already?"

"If I had been waiting for you to come and save me, I would have been dead long ago!" Swire suppressed the urge to continue swearing and asked with a cold smile, "First, explain yourself clearly: why have you still not shown up even after so much time has passed since the distress signal was sent out?"

Chen was nominally Swire's superior, and her standard distress signal was directly routed to Chen.

Swire didn’t think Chen would ignore her cries for help or fail to come to her rescue, but it was a fact that she herself was never present.

Just in case, Shi Huaiya must find out the reason.

"This can't be explained over the phone!" Chen refused outright, and shouted loudly in the noisy environment on the other end, "Hoshiguma and I will come over to your place to talk! Where are you?"

"Back to the Guard Bureau office." Swire's pupils contracted for a moment, her gaze sharpening. After replying, she slammed her finger down on the call-to-hang-up button.

She looked at her terminal, her gaze wandering for a moment before finally settling on Yun Yi, who was waiting idly.

"?" Yun Yi saw Shi Huaiya staring at her for a long time, tilted his head and looked back at her questioningly: What's wrong?

"Wait a moment." Swire casually tossed the terminal into the air, turned slightly, and in an instant, she threw a punch, creating a gust of wind that swept past Yun Yi, causing his hair to fly.

With a muffled thud, the terminal was embedded deep into the wall. The effects of the astonishing force were not yet over; a winding crack appeared on the wall, spreading outwards like a spider web.

Upon seeing this, Yun Yi subconsciously took a half step back, and his tongue involuntarily rose as if to swallow.

Goodness, that's some power! Even a mobile battering ram wouldn't be this strong.

Yunyi's inner thoughts were completely unknown to Shihuaiya.

She released her grip, revealing the terminal that had been pierced by tremendous force and was now in a terrible state. She could faintly hear the ominous "clicking" sounds of its internal parts loosening, as if it would disintegrate at any moment.

However, because of its high quality, the screen of the terminal core, though distorted, still stubbornly flickered.
