Chapter 14 Impromptu Skit Assessment
Chapter 14 Impromptu Skit Assessment
Chu Yao comes from a wealthy family, has her own resources, is shrewd, and speaks with hidden meanings. The key points of her words just now were "intelligence" and "resources".
Is she trying to build her own clique and cultivate "her own people"? Or is she simply testing the mettle of her classmates?
"Interesting." Shen Li's lips curled slightly. "The waters of Beijing Film Academy are indeed deeper than I imagined. All sorts of strange and powerful figures are starting to show themselves."
He closed his laptop, stood up, and prepared to leave. Before leaving, he politely nodded to Chu Yao: "I'm leaving now. Just leave the power bank with the dorm manager downstairs when you're done."
"Okay." Chu Yao looked up and smiled sweetly, a smile so bright and beautiful it seemed to melt ice and snow. "Thank you, Shen Li."
As Shen Li walked out of the library, the night breeze cleared her mind considerably.
"Chu Yao has been designated as a 'key observation target,' with a level of high alert."
He silently updated the intelligence in his mind.
"Their motives are unclear, but their methods are sophisticated. They are adept at using their advantages (looks, physique, resources) to win people over. Their contact strategy is to remain polite, neither servile nor arrogant, to play dumb to a certain extent, and never fall for their tricks."
Back in the dorm, Jingyang was showing off his newly acquired set of high-end skincare products to Yangyi, talking about all sorts of amazing things like essence water and pre-serum.
Dai Xiao remained completely absorbed in his computer, the keyboard clattering away.
After washing up, Shen Li lay in bed, her mind replaying all the information from the day like a movie:
Regarding part-time jobs: Flash Delivery's campus operations are running well and provide a stable income. Xiong Rui's connection may lead to the martial arts circle in film and television cities, representing a potentially huge "resource channel."
Interpersonal relationships: Fang Ying (a hot girl specializing in martial arts, SSR in combat power, dangerous but potentially useful). Chu Yao (a resource-rich individual, scheming and with unclear motives, be wary).
Academically: The impromptu skit assessment is approaching, and I need to continue to improve the universal template. It would be best to find someone to practice with.
"Tomorrow, continue with the flash delivery, and at the same time, try to get closer to Xiong Rui and try to get on board with the film studio as soon as possible. As for the impromptu skit... how about practicing with Jiang Li? Although she doesn't talk much, she's very professional and should be reliable."
Lost in thought, Shen Li drifted off to sleep.
In his dream, he stood on a huge stage, with a huge audience below.
Just as he was about to start performing, Fang Ying, dressed in martial arts attire, rushed up and knocked him to the ground with a series of punches.
Then Chu Yao walked gracefully over in a haute couture gown, looked down at him, and smiled sweetly: "Shen Li, you're still too green."
Shen Li suddenly woke up, covered in a cold sweat.
"...Damn, what kind of dream is this?"
Shen Li turned over, staring at the ceiling, her eyes gradually clearing.
"Beijing Film Academy, what a chaotic battlefield," he muttered to himself. "But the more chaotic it is, the more opportunities there are. Let's wait and see who has the last laugh."
Monday is here in the blink of an eye.
The improvisational skit assessment for the basic performance course was conducted in the experimental small theater.
With all the students present, a tense and undercurrent-filled atmosphere permeated the air.
Teacher Yan sat in the first row, with a small cardboard box in front of her containing folded question slips.
"You will be paired up, and a topic will be randomly drawn. You will have five minutes to prepare and three to five minutes to perform. I will score you based on your on-the-spot reactions, character portrayal, emotional expression, and teamwork."
Jing Yang sat next to Shen Li, dressed in a suit and tie, his hair slicked back, looking determined to win.
Yang Yi's palms were sweating with nervousness, and he kept rubbing his trouser legs. Jiang Li, still dressed in simple sportswear, sat upright with a calm expression.
Xiao Zhao (the girl with the peach-shaped buttocks) wore a floral print mini skirt today, her long, white legs crossed and placed diagonally, attracting the attention of many boys around her.
Yun Yiyi (a cool and aloof older sister) sat alone in a corner in a long black dress, exuding an aura that kept strangers at bay.
Chu Yao dressed relatively low-key today, wearing a beige knit sweater and jeans, but her curvaceous figure still attracted a lot of attention.
She sat in the middle, chatting with the girl next to her with a smile, exuding friendliness.
Shen Li silently observed all of this, her mind racing as she jotted down notes.
The drawing of lots began. Groups went up one by one; some drew "couple breaking up," some drew "interview scene," some drew "waiting for test results in a hospital corridor"...
The performances varied greatly in quality. Some were truly impressive, while others were so embarrassing they made you want to dig your toes out of your seat.
Jingyang was paired with a male partner, and the topic they drew was "Two childhood friends who haven't seen each other for many years bump into each other on the street".
From the very beginning, Jingyang went all out, with hugs and tears in his eyes, delivering lines like a machine gun, vividly portraying a "successful but lonely young man from out of town".
Although it was a bit too much effort, the overall effect was good, and Teacher Yan nodded.
It was Shen Li's turn. He was paired with a girl named "Li Ruoyin" (who hadn't spoken much before, had delicate features, a slender figure, and was the type of girl from a modest family).
The question you drew: "Your crush is getting married, and you've been invited to the wedding."
Five minutes to prepare.
Shen Li's mind raced. The core of this topic was the pain of "wanting but not getting," but it needed to be portrayed with nuance. It couldn't just be sadness; there had to be restraint, pretense, and detail.
He whispered to Li Ruoyin, "You play the bride, and I'll play the guy who secretly loves you. The scene is set backstage at the wedding. I'll find an opportunity to see you alone and say a few words. You need to appear happy, but also subtly sense my emotions, a little bit...guilty? Complex?"
Li Ruoyin nodded, a hint of eagerness in her eyes.
Five minutes later. They take the field.
Shen Li took a deep breath and instantly got into character. She straightened her non-existent tie and put on a polite smile, but beneath that smile lay a hint of stiffness and bitterness.
He was holding a virtual wine glass and standing at the "door to the dressing room".
"Ruoyin." His voice was a little hoarse. He cleared his throat. "Is it convenient? Just... just two minutes."
Li Ruoyin turned around, her face flushed with the blush of a bride (exaggerated by her acting), and the (virtual) wedding dress made her look exceptionally beautiful.
Upon seeing Shen Li, a complex emotion flashed in her eyes, but it was quickly masked by a smile: "Shen Li! You're here! I was worried you'd be too busy to make it."
"How could that be?" Shen Li smirked. "If you're getting married, I'll crawl over here if I have to."
His gaze lingered on Ruoyin's face for a moment, then quickly shifted to a point in the void. "So beautiful. This wedding dress... suits you quite well."
"Thank you." Li Ruoyin touched the virtual veil, looked down and smiled. Her smile was filled with happiness and warmth for her old friend. "You should hurry up too, don't always be alone."
"Me?" Shen Li chuckled self-deprecatingly, swirling the virtual wine glass in her hand. "Someone like me is destined to grow old alone. You know, I'm a smooth talker, and I'm not good at sweet-talking people, so what girl would be interested in me?"
