Chapter 24 The Dog Welder
Chapter 24 The Dog Welder
Chapter 24 The Dog Welder
Gotham.
The Count of Dizziness, dressed impeccably in an English trench coat and carrying a walking stick, strolled through the streets of Little St. Priss.
While this isn't Gotham's worst or poorest neighborhood, it's still far from developed or orderly. Normally, Earl Vertigo would never come to this kind of rude and vulgar sinkhole, but his employer for this mission required…
Beep—beep—
Count Dizziness paused, looking at the driver beside him who was cursing loudly.
"Fuck you! Are you deaf?"
The irritable driver honked the horn again, making a deafening noise. Seeing that Count Dizziness didn't react at all, he actually pulled a gun out of his pocket and pointed it at the man.
"Get out of the way! Do you want dozens of transparent holes in your body?"
This is a typical case of bipolar disorder. Count Dizziness frowned. He hadn’t expected that even people with bipolar disorder could openly walk the streets in this city and even get a driver’s license.
"Damn it, get out of my way—"
Buzzing sound—
In an instant, an invisible and formless wave swept across the other person's mind. The driver lowered his head, and with a "poof," an eyeball jumped out of its socket and fell to the ground.
Amidst the desperate screams and the long wail of a horn blaring as a head slammed against a horn, Earl Dizzy bowed slightly in a standard English manner, then turned and walked leisurely toward a dilapidated apartment building by the roadside.
"Let me check the address... number 52. That's correct."
He turned past the exposed concrete steps and the peeling red handrail, came to the door of room 401, and then stretched out his hand.
Knock knock knock—
"Please come in."
"Whoa!"
Count Dizziness made a surprised sound as soon as he entered the room.
From the outside, this place looks no different from ordinary residential apartments near slums, even the door looks wooden, but once you step inside, it immediately becomes a completely different world.
Behind the wooden door disguise is a solid alloy metal airtight door, which can effectively control air pressure.
The walls, ceiling, and floor are all made of metal panels, with explosion-proof coating on the outside and anti-corrosion coating on the inside.
This is a professional-grade explosion-proof room; even if the building collapses, this room will not be destroyed.
Various weapons were piled up in the corner of the room, including grenades, rocket launchers, and even multiple explosives.
On the other side of the room was a table, with four people sitting around it.
Two of them were known to Earl of Dizziness: the infamous Deadshot, whose marksmanship was as renowned as his wicked nature; and Lady Vick, a British mercenary who possessed a murderous ability as deadly as her alluring appearance.
The remaining unrecognized individuals were two masked figures: the younger woman was relatively normal, wearing a smiling cat mask and carrying a long sword at her waist, which Count Dizziness guessed was another assassin-type mercenary; the other was rather peculiar.
The man was sitting in the corner, wearing a welding mask, the kind of transparent, glare-proof welding mask used by welders.
He carried a pair of gas cylinders on his back, held a welding torch, and wore a light gray bodysuit and overalls, along with a pair of tall rubber boots.
From this point of view alone, he is just an ordinary welder.
But what's striking is that he's clutching the carcass of a dog tightly in his left hand.
It was a very ordinary dog, it looked like a Golden Retriever, but only the upper half. Someone used something to cut the dog in half and took the upper half.
The dog looked like it had just died, almost fresh. Half of its internal organs were dangling, and even a glance at it made Count Dizziness feel something churning in his stomach.
And that person actually stabbed the dog in the back with his left hand, completely ignoring the blood dripping down his arm.
"you……"
"Hello, my name is 'Welding Dog,' nice to meet you, new friend! I just arrived too."
The dog welder spoke... wait, it wasn't a person speaking, it was a dog speaking.
???
It was a real dog talking. The dead dog in the welder's left hand suddenly raised its head, and its dead face, with its eyes wide open, even had a slightly jubilant smile on it.
"Are you also hired to participate in this mission?"
This bizarre and terrifying scene truly startled Count Dizziness, but he was no normal human being, so he quickly regained his noble composure.
"Yes, sir, it's an honor to work with you."
He forced himself not to look at the dead dog in the other woman's hand, walked to Ms. Vic's side, and gave her a kiss on the hand: "Beautiful lady, your beauty shines like the stars in the sky."
"Count Deer, old friend." Mrs. Vick was a slender woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore an eye patch and a red and gold bodysuit, but her upper body, shoulders, and half of her breasts were exposed.
"you……"
"Enough! When are you going to stop your refined, aristocratic games?"
The Death Shooter, who had been ignored the whole time, banged on the table in frustration: "Now that everyone's here, let's hear what kind of bizarre tasks our sugar daddy is going to give us this time."
He gestured with his chin toward the Cheshire Cat, and the taciturn, masked cat pulled a tape recorder from a pile of grenades beside him.
"Ha, darling, am I seeing things? A tape recorder?" Ms. Vic said.
Deadshot ignored her. He pressed a button on the recorder, raised the antenna, and adjusted it for a while. Then he said, "The employer wants us to turn on the radio once everyone is here. Be quiet, everyone, just wait. I assume you're all here for the money, and so am I."
So the four of them waited quietly, and soon, amidst a rustling sound, a voice finally came:
"Buzz buzz buzz... Can you hear me?"
"Yes, employer."
Deadshot replied, "What are we tasked with this time? Catching arsonist fireflies, or some other criminals that spring up from some nook and cranny, our righteous employer?"
"Neither."
Deadshot noticed the employer's voice sounded hoarse due to the radio interference. He had checked; the recorder was an oversized walkie-talkie. Did that mean the employer was nearby?
"I have assigned you a leader, and you must obey his orders completely. Especially you, Count Dizziness."
Count Dizziness was somewhat dismissive.
Although he knew he wasn't alone on this mission, he never considered cooperating well with others.
He's a lone wolf, a lone wolf. He's only doing this mission with others because of the money; who would expect him to take orders from others?
What do you think this team leader is, Batman?
