Chapter 124 Torture
Chapter 124 Torture
Chapter 124 Torture (Please continue reading after recovery!)
My name is John Coburn, and I am a metal man.
Under the Stars and Stripes, I pledged to fight for the American spirit.
John Coburn stood in the sweltering desert, piloting a massive kryptonite-powered armor.
Standing before him was a humanoid monster over three meters tall.
It has a sharp, metallic, skull-like face, and its deep-set eyes shine with a deep red light.
"Sergeant John Coburn, please be careful. This unknown enemy suddenly appeared outside the Earth about three minutes ago, then broke through the atmosphere and crashed here."
John heard the operator's voice in his ear: "Without a doubt, extraterrestrial life."
John Coburn glanced out of the corner of his eye at the large crater that was still emitting blue smoke not far away.
"Its entire body is made of a hard substance, far harder than metal, and it radiates energy."
He saw Doomsday looking around blankly, then suddenly smacked its head twice.
John Coburn heard the voice in his headset change, from the operator's voice to another, slightly older voice:
"I am Dr. Elmi Hamilton, Sergeant Kurben. You must be careful. The opponent is very likely to be able to use thermal release and freezing power like the Kryptonians. Moreover, given the opponent's size and body structure, these Kryptonian-like abilities, if they exist, will be even stronger and could even destroy everything."
John heard the other person say very quickly, "This is an emergency that has caught all of us completely off guard. If I may suggest, then..."
His voice softened, as if he were speaking to the soldier next to him.
"We should contact General Ryan immediately and have him cease all military operations against Superman, both those that have already occurred and those that haven't, and bring him here to join forces with Metal Man to deal with him—"
Such a request was, of course, perfectly reasonable, but it was rejected by the soldier next to him: "This is a decision made by His Excellency the President and the Pentagon..."
"I don't have time for all this nonsense."
John Coburn said.
His power armor revealed a green energy shield.
This action attracted Doomsday's attention, and the monster, which had just been standing there blankly, let out a deafening roar at the Kryptonite armor:
"roar!!!"
"I am the most skilled individual combat soldier among the 44 soldiers in the entire U.S. Army."
Faced with the powerful shockwave, John slightly curled his lips into a smile.
"I usually eat these little monsters for breakfast."
He struck first, landing a punch on Doomsday's face, sending him staggering. Before Doomsday could retaliate, a cannon barrel rose from the back of the mech, unleashing a green wave of kryptonite energy that sent Doomsday flying backward.
John Coburn piloted his mech into the air, looking down at his opponent as if he were a god.
"You think you can scare me with a face that even your own mother would find ugly?"
The cannon fired again, and the Kryptonite beam slammed Doomsday to the ground. The enemy let out a violent roar, but to John, it sounded like a scream.
He stopped the Kryptonite beam, landed on the ground, and slowly walked over, his massive armor clanging with metallic sounds.
"I don't know where you come from, you alien scum."
Doomsday blinked its eyes, which were slightly blurry from the Kryptonite beams hitting its face, and then, as soon as it opened its eyes, it was punched in the face.
"But you chose the wrong world and the wrong people."
He unleashed a devastating onslaught on Doomsday.
"This world has always been under one person's protection, and I, John Coburn, you son of a bitch!"
boom!
boom!
The metal man kept launching a relentless attack!
Frenzy!
Frenzy!
mad……
Then, as the game progressed, after the initial excitement wore off, he started to feel something was off.
Why didn't the other person's face even tilt slightly?
The next second, red heat vision appeared in Doomsday's eyes.
hum!
The mech was immediately blasted away, and Doomsday jumped on top of it, hammering upwards in circles through the green energy shield. The whole scene was almost a replica of the previous one, except that the top and bottom positions and the offensive and defensive positions were completely reversed.
"Sergeant Coburn, you must get out of the way quickly," John Coburn heard Dr. Hamilton's voice as he watched the increasingly critical shield indicator.
"The armor's strength is simply insufficient to withstand this monster's attack! I know all the stats of the Jaeger Lex Luthor created; it's incapable of resisting such a powerful monster. You must wait for Superman..."
"So, are you going to give me the order to retreat?"
Dr. Hamilton was taken aback.
"I don't have a military rank here..."
"There is no one in the command center with a higher rank than me."
"General Ryan gave me the order to 'be on standby at all times and take the initiative to strike if any alien creature is found to be hostile to the United States.'"
John Coburn had a gloomy face.
"Therefore, I am currently carrying out military duties. If you are not capable of issuing me a retreat order, then shut up."
"Can……"
"I am a soldier, and a soldier's duty is to obey orders. I will not go anywhere until I receive orders to retreat."
John Coburn gritted his teeth.
"I've looked at the map. There's a small town about 15 kilometers away from here, and the residents there refused to participate in the 'exercise.' Because of the distance, the military didn't force them in the end, right?"
"How dare you say that even though I'm out of the fight with this monster now, it won't go on a killing spree in that town before Superman arrives?"
John Coburn's eyes gleamed with determination, a far cry from the scoundrel-like expression he wore when he was teasing Louis: "Once the battle begins, there is no end, Doctor."
He slammed his fist into Doomsday's face.
"And I'm not necessarily going to lose."
He said, "There's something I haven't told you about this armor..."
A plate on the front of his armor split open, revealing the kryptonite at its center, and for a moment, a large amount of green light emanated from it! Doomsday yelled and turned his face away.
"I've connected my nerves to this suit of armor, so it's not me piloting this suit, but rather..."
"I am this suit of armor!"
The metal man stood up, his left hand flashing with a green kryptonite blade. He aimed at the area without bone covering and slashed Doomsday, creating a deep and large wound.
Doomsday let out a scream.
Bathed in green light, the metallic figure stood atop Doomsday's chest, raising its kryptonite sword high: "Will you bleed? You will!"
He said, "God bless America!"
His figure resembled Theseus, who slew the Minotaur.
4 minute later.
The metal man lay sprawled on the ground like a dead dog.
His spine broke when he ejected from the armor, and he lay on the ground, bleeding profusely.
Doomsday, like a mad dog, meticulously crushed the armor he had placed so much hope in into minced meat, leaving not a single intact piece on it.
Then he turned his head and stomped on John Coburn's lower body, crushing him from the chest down.
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor, having discovered the existence of Doomsday, immediately launched dozens of drones from his base.
……
……
……
Soldiers' tents.
Chen Tao stole a soldier's computer, and the original owner of the computer was trembling with fear beside him.
He used physical hacking to access the scene of the Metal Men vs. Doomsday battle.
The moment he saw Doomsday, a keyword popped into his head.
The Death of Superman
Then immediately begin to make associations:
The death of Superman = retirement plan failure = Justice League becomes Justice Alliance = only 6 leg-hangers left. After the big event, they can't beat them = they all die = world destruction!
Therefore, Chen Tao made up his mind immediately in the second.
Superman absolutely cannot be allowed to fight Doomsday one-on-one; that would be a guaranteed death buff.
But the problem is...
He never imagined he would face Doomsday at this time.
"hiss……"
Seeing the mechs battling monsters on the screen, Clark took a breath: "I'm going first—"
He lifted his foot to walk out of the tent, but Chen Tao grabbed him.
"You can't leave."
Clark looked at him, puzzled. "But it's obvious now—"
"You can't beat him, don't go over there yet, wait for me a moment."
Chen Tao rushed to General Zod's side.
Alfred's agreements typically involve allowing himself to extract some Batman from the multiverse after someone else's defeat. If it were Zod, he should be able to extract some...
Chen Tao frowned.
There was no response, absolutely no response.
Immediately after hearing Zod's first words, he realized the reason.
"Dirty Earthlings".
Zod opened his eyes, his gaze fixed on something as if he were looking at a bug.
Chen Tao narrowed his eyes.
He had privately studied the so-called Alfred Protocol and crisis energy.
In the comics, the so-called Crisis Energy is the dark counterpart of Anti-Crisis Energy, originating from the fear and anger of all beings. Crisis Energy is also known as the Seven Hidden Forces, corresponding to the Seven Cosmic Forces.
So the key is fear and anger.
Whether it was Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, or the dying Joker, Bane, or Claw, they all harbored similar feelings towards Chen Tao to varying degrees. Even Fiora before…
But for Zod—
"You lowly life form from a inferior planet," he said.
Although Zod saw Chen Tao in his Kryptonian form, Chen Tao later changed back to his original form in front of them.
Zod may not even know how he stole the Kryptonian's constitution, but once he confirmed that the other party was not a Kryptonian, his attitude immediately made a 180-degree turn.
"Let Karl El speak to me."
Superman appeared beside him: "I'm sorry, Batman, Zod doesn't consider any living being other than Kryptonians as human. It's in his genes; he's programmed to protect the people of Krypton, which means that to him, no living being other than Kryptonians is 'people,' but rather a bug on the ground or a venomous snake to be wary of."
Chen Tao understood the current situation. Anyone bitten by a venomous snake hidden in the grass would not react with hatred or fear of the snake, but rather with lamenting their bad luck.
Or perhaps it's hatred and fear of the person who let that venomous snake into the grass.
Zod stared angrily at Superman.
Chen Tao blinked and stood in front of Superman.
Then he took out a handful of kryptonite powder and smeared it on the other person's face.
It wasn't mixed with fear-inducing poison gas.
Fear gas is useless. Chen Tao had conducted an experiment before. After using fear gas, the target would become a completely terrified person who could not communicate. In this state, even if they were afraid of "Chen Tao", they were only afraid of the "Chen Tao" they imagined in their minds under the influence of fear gas, not the real Chen Tao. The target was wrong.
The fear of the poison gas dissipating meant that things would go back to normal as before, with no effect whatsoever.
Therefore, Chen Tao planned to use another method to extract a Batman from Zod.
"Cough cough cough cough... Karl El! Are you going to let this Earthling humiliate me until—"
"I intend to release you, General Zod."
what?
While he was still mentally preparing how to gently persuade Batman not to torture the captive Superman, he was taken aback by this unconventional statement.
"Wait, what did you say?"
"Go away, kid, go away."
Chen Tao impatiently shooed Clark away, leaving the clueless Kansas farm boy squatting beside him like a frog.
"Actually, we humans never wanted to fight the Kryptonians. We've always wanted to make peace with them."
Clark's eyes widened upon hearing this.
Chen Tao pointed at him and said, "Don't speak!"
So Clark obediently sat back down.
"But we have a proverb."
Chen Tao hesitated for a moment because he couldn't think of a suitable word, so in desperation he could only make one up on the spot:
"If someone comes from afar, beat him until he can't take care of himself, then treat him with courtesy."
"We Earthlings are a kind and civilized race. We are not good at, nor do we like, fighting. We especially dislike interstellar warfare and we dislike hurting others."
Therefore, we have demonstrated our strength, and you have been defeated. Therefore, I now intend to release you, and I hope you will leave this planet and never return.
Clark pouted.
That's just wishful thinking.
But seeing Batman's confident demeanor, he felt that the other was planning something, so he remained silent.
Having just absorbed a lot of kryptonite, the even weaker General Zod revealed a mocking smile.
"Go ahead and release them, but first take off these shackles. Stop with the high-sounding words, they're laughable. If you really release them, I'll do it right here and now—"
With a clatter, the handcuffs fell to the ground.
General Zod stared at the other man in astonishment, hardly believing that there could be such a fool in the universe.
He stood up, but his body was still very weak, and it was impossible for him to fly. Ek was still lying on the ground, unable to stand up even without the kryptonite shackles.
"Are you really letting me go?"
Zod asked Chen Tao with some disbelief.
"Yes, yes." Chen Tao's face was kind and peaceful, radiating a holy aura.
"We are a peace-loving people..."
General Zod turned and left, pulling up the limp Ek and limping away.
"I've never seen such an idiot in my life."
He watched Chen Tao warily, ready to defend himself against the other party suddenly going back on his word.
Superman stared blankly at the two people walking further and further away: "...What's going on?"
"Wait a little longer," Chen Tao told him.
Then, after they had walked several hundred meters, he finally heard Chen Tao say, "Bring them back!"
With a whoosh.
Two Kryptonians, who had temporarily lost their abilities due to severe Kryptonite poisoning, ran frantically for half a day like ants moving their nests, only to return to their original spot with blank expressions in the blink of an eye.
Chen Tao then offered them two more puffs of kryptonite powder, before shaking the shackles: "You dare to run after I told you to? You've got some nerve!"
I'm typing this out while coughing, it's a bit uncomfortable. But it's good that the hype has died down. I'm still a little dizzy though. If I don't get my leave slip and have to ask for more, I'll lose my perfect attendance bonus. Hang in there, everyone please keep reading! Please!
