Chapter 1035 Hehe, the Pharaoh is here!
boom!!!!
A tremendous noise.
The sound was deafening. Pharaoh felt that every word he spoke was stretched out infinitely, and beside him, the voice of the second Rorschach seemed as distant as the sky.
He couldn't hear what Rorschach was saying.
The scenery outside the spaceship began to change. It was no longer the sewer district where they were hiding. In fact, the Pharaoh had transformed it into a safe zone, and he could take off from the downtown area whenever he wanted.
As for whether the rocket launch will kill lives in that neighborhood?
Odysseus isn't Batman, or in some ways, he's even more evil than Lex Luthor.
At least in his normal state, Luthor wouldn't do something like killing millions of people without batting an eye. The Pharaoh could kill so many people; the potential casualties were nothing to him.
He was a true elitist fanatic who considered himself a savior, even more arrogant than Luther.
However, he is now with Rorschach.
A little kid wearing the original Rorschach mask thinks he can become a superhero, whose family was among the millions killed by the Ozymandias—
But the Pharaoh only used a lie about having cancer and the goal of saving the world to make Rorschach, who should have been his enemy, obediently follow his orders.
Oh, poor Rorschach, completely manipulated by the Pharaoh.
He was still trying to say something to the Pharaoh, but now the spaceship was starting up.
The Pharaoh had prepared a decoy on the spaceship to fool Rorschach, so that if the spaceship killed innocent civilians during flight, Rorschach wouldn't see it.
Of course, the Pharaoh was not a psychopathic killer, and he would try his best to avoid harming civilians. However, from the moment he built the takeoff base in this sewer, it was destined that he could not completely avoid accidents. But in the Pharaoh's view, these were all necessary sacrifices.
With the original Rorschach risking his life to reveal the truth that he and Dr. Manhattan killed millions to prevent nuclear war, Ozymandias is now wanted by the entire Watchmen universe. It's not that he doesn't want to avoid civilian casualties, but that it's already unavoidable.
The Pharaoh's attention was entirely focused on how to deceive Rorschach and start the spaceship. He was too arrogant. With his intelligence, he should have noticed Rorschach's stress response and the terrified expressions on the puppet couple's faces long ago.
But after glancing at Rorschach, he turned his head away to fiddle with the instruments on the spaceship, pondering how to deceive him so that he wouldn't discover that he didn't take anyone seriously at all.
These trivial matters interfered with his judgment and slowed his reaction time.
So when the second-generation Rorschach's voice, distorted with shock and anger, reached his ears and made him realize something was wrong, the Pharaoh turned his head.
"
—Whatthe—***?
"What?"
The Pharaoh wanted to know why the other party had asked such a question, so he looked at the second Rorschach and then felt a chill run down his spine.
He saw a shadow.
The sky seemed to have been suddenly torn open, revealing a power the Pharaoh had never witnessed before.
In the Watchers universe where Pharaoh was born, all the extraordinary power in the universe was completely monopolized by Dr. Manhattan. It was a world of utter silence, where all the extraordinary power had been drained by Dr. Manhattan alone.
A multiverse has given birth to a terrifyingly powerful being like Dr. Manhattan, who is the darling of the universe, but this also makes everyone else pale in comparison.
The Pharaoh had never witnessed such awe-inspiring supernatural power as Manhattan, but now he had.
A monster with pale skin, head down and arms crossed, slowly emerged from the spatial rift.
A tingling, electric sensation instantly pierced the Pharaoh's brain, causing him to shout at the top of his lungs, "Enemy attack!!!"
Rorschach II lunged forward, rushing towards a remote control stick on the console. The Pharaoh had previously told him what to do in case of an emergency, and Rorschach II faithfully carried out the Pharaoh's orders. As for the Pharaoh himself—
He pulled out a cat.
It was a red cat with big, bewildered eyes.
Honestly, this cat is absolutely gorgeous. It has long ears like a phoenix tail and beautiful red fur, which is the opposite of Dr. Manhattan's blue coat. It looks a bit like a lynx.
This was supposed to be the Pharaoh's last trump card, but faced with the Hanged Man, a magical creature he had never seen before, even someone as intelligent as the Pharaoh could only do his best to lift the cat and try to put up a futile resistance.
This cat's name is Bubastis.
Before Dr. Manhattan was transformed into a quantum god by that experimental accident, he was still an ordinary person.
Pharaoh used the original remains of Dr. Manhattan, which had been dismantled, to clone this cat.
Strictly speaking, this cat is part of Doctor Manhattan, just as the Manhattan bat is part of Doctor Manhattan's power in a possible future where the time stream exists.
If we make a more absurd inequality, we can even equate this cat with the Manhattan bat.
"Meow!!!"
The cat Bubastis howled.
Pharaoh knew that the cat Boubastis had seen Dr. Manhattan's time fingerprint on the strange, upside-down creature in front of him.
The cat's seven orifices emit a blue glow, as does the Hanged Man.
He was indeed under Dr. Manhattan's control.
Rorschach pulled the joystick, and the spaceship lit up with an energy shield. For the Pharaoh, this was even an immature technology.
The shield was pierced in an instant, as if it were made of paper.
The Hanged Man tore the spaceship apart. However, the turbulent timelines outside the spaceship did not instantly shred the Pharaoh and his companions.
"Why you?"
The Pharaoh raised the cat high, and countless blue lightning bolts, or rather, arcs of energy, swirled around him before striking the Hanged Man.
The Hanged Man made some strange roars. He seemed to have been deprived of his ability to speak by Dr. Manhattan, but his excitement could also be felt from these roars.
"Get out of our way! You can't stop us! Stop using these ridiculous proxies, Joan!"
He shouted Manhattan's real name: "Come out, face me! You don't even dare to face me?"
But the Pharaoh's cries went unanswered.
At least here, the only response he received was from the Hanged Man himself, who stretched out his palm to him, followed by another loud bang.
boom!
The Bat Who Laughs is absolutely disgusting.
Both Chen Tao and Papetua thought the same way.
Chen Tao needed to deal with the Void Hand, while Papetua wanted to try. Neither of them wanted the Laughing One to be by their side when facing Dr. Manhattan; otherwise, dealing with their own enemy while also keeping an eye on the Laughing One was no easy task.
-
If they could, they would prefer to join forces and eliminate the Batman Who Laughs directly. However, the Batman Who Laughs's current connection with the Manhattan Bat has given him a near-indestructible talisman. This is why the Batman Who Laughs, knowing the extent of their malice towards him, still dared to appear before Chen Tao and his group.
"No one can interfere in my battle against Dr. Manhattan, and you should also know very well that Dr. Manhattan cannot be lost."
When Chen Tao heard Papetua's voice, he actually agreed with what Papetua said.
If we disregard personal preferences and consider only the division of labor, he is more experienced in dealing with the Batman Who Laughs, and Dr. Manhattan poses a far greater threat than the Void Hand.
But the problem is that only Chen Tao knows that Dr. Manhattan is actually turning himself into a gift pack of experience. Why did you, Papetu, go to all that trouble to stop him?
But he couldn't say such a thing, nor could he reveal that he knew what the ending of Dr. Manhattan would be, otherwise his revelation might very well have changed the outcome.
so----
"I can keep an eye on the Batman Who Laughs, but on the condition that I have a synchronized perspective and can monitor your confrontation with Dr. Manhattan at any time."
Chen Tao paused.
"And any other additional conditions?"
Papetua asked.
"And I need you to take my advice more seriously when you're dealing with Dr. Manhattan."
Chen Tao said.
He initially wanted to tell Papetua that he had to listen to him, but he soon realized that Papetua was merely an enemy with whom he had temporarily allied, not a reliable ally.
So all he could say was, "Deal."
Chen Tao pondered silently.
Besides advancing his plans to deal with the Void Hand, he now has another task:
Finding the Pharaoh was one of the key factors behind the Dr. Manhattan Doomsday Bell incident.
He had to ensure things unfolded exactly as he had in the comics he had read in his previous life, as long as nothing changed.
Chen Tao's only concern was how to grab the biggest piece of the pie.
"Cough cough cough!"
Rorschach II coughed violently and woke up amidst a cloud of dust. He felt as if he had swallowed about two pounds of sand, and his head was buzzing; he had at least suffered a mild concussion.
He covered his head, and then felt someone reach out to him.
"Ah!" he cried out, and the feeling disappeared.
He sat up and looked around.
"Where are we? What happened?!"
Before he could figure out what was going on, he heard the Pharaoh's voice.
"I have done what I promised. I have brought everyone to the universe that Dr. Manhattan arrived in, and now you and I must go find him."
The Pharaoh's voice sounded strange.
The second-generation Rorschach couldn't quite hear what he was saying.
He turned his head and saw the Pharaoh.
His eyes widened.
