Chapter 1050 Batman's Dragon Killed by Doctor Manhattan
Chen Tao never believed in omniscience or omnipotence.
If someone could know everything, then he could never be omnipotent, and vice versa.
If Dr. Manhattan cannot resist the Pharaoh's summons, then Chen Tao's plan will be feasible.
If Dr. Manhattan could foresee this outcome, then he should also have been able to foresee the Pharaoh's summons to him. If he couldn't foresee the Pharaoh's summons, then he couldn't have foreseen his plan. It's a very simple logical deduction, isn't it?
The moment Pharaoh was struck by the Omega Judgment, he vanished from the main universe's timeline. Chen Tao immediately looked at Dr. Manhattan standing beside him, and then he saw the blue giant looking at him as well.
"A good idea." Then Chen Tao heard Dr. Manhattan say, "A clever imagination and the ability to act."
Chen Tao was waiting, waiting for Dr. Manhattan to be drawn away by Pharaoh, something Pharaoh should have been able to do, just as he had just successfully forced Dr. Manhattan to come.
But nothing happened.
Chen Tao took a deep breath.
"So, you were never actually summoned by the Pharaoh. His so-called forced summoning of you was just wishful thinking, right?"
"That's true. But Witt did contact me through his methods," Dr. Manhattan said. "He contacted me, so I came to see him, that's all."
"Understood," Chen Tao said.
"Is there anything else you want to say?" Dr. Manhattan asked.
"If the Pharaoh cannot forcibly summon you, then it will be easy for you to save him from the Omega Judgment."
"Yes."
Dr. Manhattan said.
He waved his hand, and a portal opened out of thin air. Immediately afterwards, the cat-shaped Pharaoh and the Lampshade reappeared in the main universe, howling: "Meow meow meow meow meow?"
In an instant, Pharaoh appeared in Dr. Manhattan's hand, his body motionless, still filled with the Omega energy of Omega Judgment.
Then Dr. Manhattan waved his hand, and all the purple Omega energy was dispersed by him, as easily as brushing dust off his shoulder.
"Is there anything else you want to ask?"
Dr. Manhattan asks Batman about the dragon.
"Wait, I—how could I—Joan, you won again."
Meanwhile, Pharaoh, recovering from the dizziness of being teleported, saw Doctor Manhattan raise his palm towards Batman Dragon. He was familiar with this gesture; the last time Doctor Manhattan made this gesture was when facing a man named Rorschach, and the next second Rorschach exploded.
"No, you wouldn't want to do that, Joan."
"Whatever you say, it means nothing to me, Witt."
Dr. Manhattan looked down at Batman Dragon from his elevated position.
He had already realized that the Batman Dragon in front of him was an illusion, but it didn't matter.
He is Dr. Manhattan, he is all-knowing and omnipresent, and Batman Dragon's attempt to escape his trial by using a phantom is impossible.
At this point, Doctor Manhattan no longer needs the normal development of the DC multiverse. The existence of Batman Dragon might affect his final showdown with Superman, the core of the DC multiverse, therefore he is no longer useful.
He wouldn't bother to kill the other party if they weren't in front of him, but now that he happens to run into them, he might as well eliminate them.
The incomparable god thought so.
Dr. Manhattan reached out his hand, and the next second, his quantum power was superimposed onto Batman Dragon's real body through that illusion.
Batman Dragon seemed to be planning a counterattack, but it was to no avail.
The Pharaoh watched as Batman Dragon faced Doctor Manhattan, his mouth agape, an expression unreadable—a smile or something else entirely—and then—
In an instant, he exploded.
clack.
A skeleton lay on the ground, leaving only wisps of smoke.
Dr. Manhattan lowered his hand.
"Witt. At first, I wanted to find a place to settle down among them."
The Pharaoh finds himself in a completely different scene from Dr. Manhattan, surrounded by conflict, a frenzied crowd, and burning banners.
Then the scene changed again.
"But then something happened. I looked ahead and saw the one among them who was most hopeful rushing toward me. Now there was no hope left, and then I saw nothing at all."
I am Dr. Manhattan.
Cavill Coleman was the first person I met after arriving in the DC multiverse.
He was an ordinary movie star.
In April 1954, I was sitting down to watch his last film, "Vacation".
In June, I saw Kavel Coleman's body lying on the floor, a hole punched in his head. He, too, had once been full of hope.
"But I was wrong, Witt. Everything comes to an end."
"But I don't understand, what does this have to do with us, Joan? What does it have to do with you killing Batman Dragon? Why did you kill him? All of this..."
It all means nothing, my sorrowful friend.
"We've talked enough, goodbye."
In a blinding flash of blue light, Ozymandias stood motionless, while Batman Dragon, reduced to a skeleton, lay beside him. Dr. Manhattan had refused to return to the Watchmen universe to help. He had also incidentally killed Batman Dragon, one of the key guardians of the DC multiverse. Ozymandias was now utterly bewildered.
What's next? What should we do next?
"Hello?"
Then, somewhat alarmed, he heard someone speaking, and it was Batman Dragon's voice.
"What?"
He turned his head and saw a phantom standing on the skeleton that Batman Dragon had transformed into, which was none other than Batman Dragon himself.
"Hello, I am a magical projection from Gotham City in the DC multiverse. If you see this projection, it means I'm dying sooner than expected."
"I cannot reveal the specific reason why I died, but please help me come back to life as soon as it is convenient for you. This is of utmost importance."
"Why—"
The Pharaoh tried to say something, but he soon realized that the projection was a pre-programmed video, not a real person with whom he could communicate.
The second Rorschach, who had previously tried to strangle the Ogre but was defeated by Batman's Dragon Core, was fast asleep nearby.
"Don't worry, my goal is not just to save myself. I must be resurrected as soon as possible. This concerns many lives and the safety of the entire Watchmen universe."
"I think I've made myself clear enough?"
The Pharaoh covered his forehead.
"There should be a magical item on my corpse that could resurrect me, but to prevent the Batman Who Laughs from finding my body, it's protected by multiple security protocols. If you are the Batman Who Laughs, I advise you to stay away from me."
The Pharaoh was in turmoil, but he still listened.
"So, if you are not the Batman Who Laughs, then I will now explain the specific resurrection process to you."
The Pharaoh was startled and immediately began to listen intently.
