Chapter 3 Body Tempering Level 6
Chapter 3 Body Tempering Level 6
Lin Dong didn't leave; he just squatted down and watched. He was not only curious but also worried that something might happen to Li Yi.
He saw changes in Li Yi's body.
The skin became firmer, the muscle lines became more defined, and even breathing became deeper and longer.
"Body Tempering Level 1..." Lin Dong muttered to himself.
Another hour passed.
"Second level of body tempering..."
Lin Dong's voice was somewhat hoarse.
As evening approached, Li Yi's aura suddenly changed.
It was as if something inside him suddenly exploded, and a surge of new energy erupted from his dantian, instantly engulfing his entire body.
Lin Dong suddenly stood up.
"Elemental Power Seed!"
He had cultivated for so long, barely reaching the point of about to enter the fourth level, while the person in front of him had been sitting there all afternoon...
Just then, Li Yi opened his eyes.
Those purple double pupils reappeared, but only for a moment before returning to normal. He looked down at his hands and clenched his fists.
"Sixth level of Body Tempering!"
Lin Dong stood there, opened his mouth, but couldn't utter a single word.
Li Yi stood up and stretched his limbs, his bones cracking and popping.
Lin Dong stared at Li Yi's chest and asked, "Why is your chest... glowing?"
Li Yi touched his chest; the bone was no longer hot.
He remained silent for a while, thinking about everything that had happened in the past two days, and decided to tell Lin Dong.
There's a bone.
"A bone?" Lin Dong frowned. "Doesn't everyone have bones? What do you mean?"
Upon hearing this, Li Yi offered no explanation. He didn't know how to explain, nor whether he should explain at all.
"What it produces can nourish the body." Li Yi touched his chest again and said, "But it's not unlimited; it takes time to recover after you've used it up."
Lin Dong stared at him for a long time, his gaze shifting from doubt to complexity.
He has cultivated for so long, enduring countless hardships and suffering countless injuries...
"That bone in your bone... was it natural?"
"have no idea."
"You know nothing?"
Li Yi looked at him and said, "All you know is the name 'Supreme Bone'."
"Supreme Bone?" Like the Double Pupil, Lin Dong had never heard of this term before.
"Forget it." Lin Dong waved his hand, plopped down on the steps, and looked up at the darkening sky. "Tell me or don't, it's up to you."
Li Yi also sat down.
The two sat side by side, neither of them speaking.
After a moment of silence, Lin Dong suddenly spoke: "What are your plans next?"
"What? What should we do?"
"You can't stay at my house forever, can you?" Lin Dong looked at Li Yi and said, "Although I don't mind, and my family doesn't mind for now, but if it goes on for too long..."
Although he didn't finish speaking, Li Yi understood the meaning behind his words.
He was silent for a moment, then said, "I won't stay long. I feel incomplete."
"Incomplete?" Lin Dong frowned. "What do you mean?"
Li Yi did not answer; he himself couldn't explain it, it was just a feeling.
Lin Dong stared at him for a while, and seeing that he didn't say anything, he didn't press him further.
"Whatever you want." Lin Dong stood up, dusted himself off, and said, "You can stay here for now, we'll talk about it when you're ready to leave."
He took two steps, then turned back: "By the way, your double pupils... don't keep staring at me like that, it's creepy."
Li Yi nodded.
Lin Dong waved his hand and went inside.
Just then, a figure rushed over, shouting as he ran, "Lin Dong! Lin Dong! Something bad has happened!"
Li Yi looked in the direction of the voice and saw a boy of about thirteen or fourteen years old. He was chubby and his face jiggled as he ran, looking just like a ball.
Lin Dong poked his head out of the house, frowning, and asked, "Lin Changqiang? What's the rush?"
Lin Changqiang is the son of Lin Dong's fifth uncle. Although he is a bit chubby, he is not a bad person, and Lin Dong has a decent impression of him.
"Qingtan...Qingtan was bullied by that guy Lin Shan!" Lin Changqiang wiped the sweat from his face, his eyes red with anxiety. "I saw it on the way. Qingtan found a Crimson Sun Grass in the back mountain, and Lin Shan and his gang of bastards saw her and are now blocking her from leaving!"
"It's Lin Shan again!"
Lin Dong's face instantly darkened.
"Where is he? Lead the way!" Lin Dong didn't wait for Lin Changqiang to continue speaking before turning around and walking out.
Li Yi also stood up.
"I'll go with you."
Lin Dong paused, turned around to look at him, and nodded.
The two left the courtyard one after the other. Lin Changqiang stood there, stunned. He looked at Lin Dong and Li Yi's backs, then looked down at his own round figure. He gritted his teeth and followed them.
"Wait for me! Didn't you ask me to lead the way?"
At the foot of the back mountain, beside a pile of rubble.
Qingtan was blocked by several burly figures, clutching a bright red herb tightly in her arms. Her clothes were covered in mud, and her palm was scraped and bleeding, but her eyes were still bright and she stared intently at the person blocking her way.
"Lin Shan! Don't go too far! I found this medicinal herb first!"
Qingtan stared at the leader of the group, her light voice tinged with anger.
"Hehe, we found this Crimson Sun Grass yesterday, we were just waiting to come and get it today. You took our stuff and you're saying I'm being unreasonable?" Lin Shan crossed his arms and looked at the angry Qing Tan with a smile.
"If you know what's good for you, hand it over yourself." Lin Shan took a step forward, "so I don't have to take action."
Qingtan took two steps back, leaning against a large rock, with nowhere left to retreat.
Lin Shan reached out to grab the medicinal herb from her arms...
"Lin Shan!"
A loud shout suddenly came from behind.
Lin Shan's hand froze in mid-air, and he turned around.
Lin Dong stood ten steps away, his eyes bloodshot, his fists clenched so tightly they cracked. Behind him followed an unfamiliar young man with purple eyes, coldly watching them.
"Lin Dong?" Lin Shan was taken aback for a moment, then sneered, "What are you doing here? Standing up for your adopted sister?"
"Give the medicine back to her." Lin Dong's voice was very low.
"Return it?" Lin Shan pulled the Crimson Sun Grass from Qing Tan's arms, held it up and waved it. "This medicine has your name on it? What makes you think it's hers?"
"Lin Shan, don't go too far!"
"Too much?" Lin Shan laughed, taking a step forward and radiating the aura of a fourth-level Body Tempering expert.
"I'm telling you right now. I won't return the medicine. And you're not taking the person with you. If you know what's good for you, get out of here. If you don't..."
He hadn't finished speaking.
A figure had appeared in front of him at some point.
Her purple, double pupils looked down at him.
Lin Shan froze, as if frozen in place by something. Those eyes were terrifying; the pupils seemed to hold swirling starlight, unfathomable depths that sent shivers down his spine.
“Who…who are you?”
Li Yi did not answer; he took a step forward.
Qilin Step!
The ground beneath their feet shattered, cracks spreading outwards like a spiderweb. An invisible shockwave erupted from beneath their feet, sending Lin Shan's two henchmen staggering backward and crashing to the ground.
Lin Shan, who was standing at the very front, was directly blown away by the shockwave, crashing heavily into the rocks behind him before falling to the ground, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
He lay on the ground, trembling all over, too weak to even lift his head.
The Crimson Sun Grass slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.
The surroundings were deathly silent.
