Chapter 39: Spider-Man and Useless Things
Chapter 39: Spider-Man and Useless Things
The vultures fled quickly, and they returned just as quickly.
A few seconds later, Spider-Man heard a cry of pain.
Then the vulture wearing a green flight suit fell from above.
He plopped down on the ground, rubbing his slightly swollen head, the downy feathers on his arms drooping.
"Damn it, there's a wall blocking the way out!"
"..."
Seemingly realizing that his earlier actions were somewhat inhumane, Vulture's attitude softened considerably.
He slowly rose to his feet, his eyes sharp.
The wings on both sides of his arms straightened instantly, no longer as soft as before, but transformed into extremely sharp blades.
Just when Spider-Man thought he was about to say something about his plan, this guy said something else.
"What was your previous battle plan?"
"..."
I thought I was shameless enough, but I didn't expect this guy to be even more shameless than Oz.
Spider-Man sighed, looked at the group walking towards them, and said:
"Leave the lizardmen to me, and you can take care of the other octopuses."
"no problem!"
After saying this, the two went to meet their respective enemies.
This place was probably prepared by Norman Osborn specifically for Spider-Man, as there were no webs around that could provide any leverage.
Spider-Man is in a large, open space and can only rely on his fists and feet to deal with the situation. Spider webs only occasionally become a small tool to break the deadlock.
call out!
The two lizard tails, like iron whips, lashed towards him with a whooshing sound.
Spider-Man barely managed to jump back to avoid the attack, only to be hit head-on by another lizard.
"Seriously, with your perfect teamwork, why don't you three apply for a job as mecha pilots?!"
Spider-Man dodged a lizard's attack by sidestepping it and grabbed the man's arm.
With a slight exertion of his arms, he lifted the lizardman into the air.
He looked as if he were holding a giant sledgehammer, ready to smash it down!
However, these lizardmen had clearly undergone special modifications, unlike the lizardmen at the veterans' hospital whom they encountered the first time.
This three-headed lizardman gave Spider-Man the feeling of facing... a weakened version of Dr. Dara...
wrong!
Spider-Man quickly raised his arms to block the Lizard Man's tail lash as he fell to the ground, and took a few steps back.
"It's Dr. Connors!"
Spider-Man shot out webs from his hands, left and right, right and left, which stuck to the heads of the two other lizardmen who were rushing towards him, and then he pulled hard!
The two lizardmen immediately bumped mouths together.
Spider-Man felt a little angry, and even a sense of betrayal.
He wanted to shout out why, because he knew that these three well-coordinated, highly skilled lizardmen were clearly the work of Connors!
Otherwise, there's no reason why it should be so difficult to deal with!
"There's no chance to get you a new antidote serum right now, which means you'll have to completely reduce these three lizardmen to their original form."
Oz suddenly appeared on Spider-Man's shoulder and said.
"I know."
Spider-Man ignored him and continued fighting the three lizardmen who had risen again.
"Do you need any help?" Oz asked.
"Need not!"
Spider-Man replied defiantly, with the stubbornness unique to a young man.
He mustered all his strength and punched the lizardman at the front of the line in the jaw.
Several fangs practically popped out on the spot!
"Wow, Parker, you really don't need any help?"
Oz was somewhat surprised. He hadn't wanted to help because Osborne's plan was clear: he wanted to capture his little brat alive.
This means that Spider-Man is not under threat of death.
But being captured alive doesn't mean you won't get hurt.
Oz was stubborn but soft-hearted; he didn't want his little Peter to get hurt too badly.
"No need!" Spider-Man repeated, then shot out a large strand of web that stuck to the Lizard Man who had fallen to the ground and was temporarily unconscious.
One has been dealt with for now!
Two left!
"I need to prove something to Dr. Connors," Spider-Man said.
"What?" Oz asked.
"That's why I wanted to be Spider-Man!"
Spider-Man maintained his composure despite his slightly angry tone. He knew that the upcoming battle would require him to give it his all, so he dared not let himself succumb to anger.
"I thought about it last night."
Spider-Man leaped up and delivered a flying kick to the back of a lizard man, causing him to stagger a few steps.
"I never stopped being Spider-Man because I was afraid of danger. Connors advised me against it because Norman was dangerous, and Gwen advised me against it because I was the person she loved."
"Essentially, they all want me to stay safe."
"But."
Spider-Man roared, grabbed the Lizard Man's arm, twisted it with all his might, and broke the man's arm on the spot!
Click!
A crisp, clear sound of bones breaking echoed across the open space.
Spider-Man's cold gaze fell upon the lizard man who had taken a few steps back.
"They don't understand why I became Spider-Man."
"..."
Oz was not at all surprised by Peter's realization.
He didn't have much to say, but he did offer a reminder:
"If you feel you really can't go on anymore, just call me."
"I will."
Spider-Man nodded, ultimately agreeing to Oz's suggestion.
Although Spider-Man doesn't need Oz's help right now, someone else does need Spider-Man's help.
"Spider! Spider-Man! Little Spider! Come switch sides with me!"
The sound of vultures could be heard.
Spider-Man turned his head to look.
The vulture was attacked back and forth by several metal tentacles, each one like a venomous snake, frantically darting about.
The vulture was like a mouse desperately trying to escape, terrified that the tentacles would touch it.
"..."
"What are you standing there for? I can't beat them, so I'll fight the lizardmen, and you fight these lunatics!"
Spider-Man was speechless. He turned around and glanced at his own battlefield.
The three-headed lizardman, one unconscious, one crippled, and one whole.
The results were not bad.
On the other hand, the vultures were being beaten unilaterally, like a spinning top, just taking all the hits.
Spider-Man couldn't understand why he was fighting like this even though he had a flight suit, and he didn't want to understand it.
Spider-Man quickly joined the Vulture's battle and helped him out of trouble.
The vulture flapped its wings and flew to Spider-Man's original battlefield.
"Damn octopus! If I can't beat him, I can't beat you bunch of crippled lizards!!"
The vulture, like a fishing eagle, swooped straight down at the two lizardmen.
He transformed his wings into daggers, the tips pointing directly at the lizardman's chest cavity.
As he passed the lizardman lying on the ground, he suddenly found himself unable to fly.
"Um?"
The vulture looked at it with a puzzled expression.
He found his legs bound by a lizard's tail.
This tail was the work of the lizardman after he awoke from his coma.
next second.
A crackling sound rang out.
Another lizard tail lashed it away.
The vulture bounced on the ground like a rolling ball for a long time before collapsing and not getting up.
"!!!"
Spider-Man looked at the old man in shock.
"Are you sure you're not joking?!"
The situation was like a collapsing building, turning around in an instant.
Spider-Man looked at the enemies on his left and right.
"Guys, maybe we can sit down and chat for a bit?"
Spider-Man slightly raised his hands, then glanced angrily at the little old man, Vulture, lying motionless on the ground in the distance.
What are you doing here, buddy?!
Instead of attacking Spider-Man immediately, the enemies on both sides surrounded him.
Then, Norman's voice responded to Spider-Man's words.
"Spider-Man, what do you think of this gift—who's pulling my breathing tube again!?"
"..."
