Chapter 241: The Crack Expands to the Boundary of the Star Chart
Chapter 241: The Crack Expands to the Boundary of the Star Chart
He used his scepter to scan the edge of the star map, trying to find the main path of the crack's expansion, but the crack's energy seemed to be alive, constantly changing its trajectory.
Lysa gripped his spear tightly, standing beside the observer, his gaze cold and stern: "If the star map is also completely swallowed up, we will lose our last line of defense. Is there any way to stop it?"
The observer shook his head: "Unless we find the core weakness of the Void Avatar before the rift fully expands, nothing will be of any use."
The cracks at the edge of the star map have expanded to multiple dimensions, and the fragments of rules swallowed by the cracks, like giant lightning bolts, are tearing apart the structure of the universe. The guardians of each dimension sense the crisis and have no choice but to put aside their differences and join this desperate battle.
A chilling aura surged from the void as Sophia appeared at the edge of the star map, accompanied by warriors from the extreme cold dimension. She was covered in heavy frost armor, and a path of ice and snow formed beneath her feet to block the spread of the rift's energy.
“Observer, is this your star map?” Sophia stood at the front of the rift, her cold voice tinged with sarcasm. “It doesn’t seem as indestructible as I imagined.”
“If you’re just here to mock us, you can go back,” the observer said coldly, but his gaze remained fixed on the trajectory of the expanding crack.
“I’m not here to mock you.” Sophia raised her hands, and a huge frost barrier stood in front of the rift, temporarily halting the erosion of the void energy. “But we have to admit that you and this star map alone cannot stop the rift.”
At the same time, Kane's figure appeared from the other side of the rift. He did not lead any troops, but instead ventured alone into the edge of the rift. His entire body was enveloped in a layer of dark red flames, a phenomenon resulting from the energy conflict after his contact with the Void Avatar.
“I’m not here to guard satellite images,” Kane said with a hint of disdain. “I just want to see what’s hidden at the end of this crack.”
"Kane, what are you doing?" Sophia turned her head, her tone now colder. "Do you know what it means to venture deep into the rift without permission? You will be swallowed by the void!"
“Maybe.” Kane shrugged nonchalantly. “But if I can find a loophole, we might still have a chance.”
The battle on the front lines of the rift intensified, with countless split forms of ethereal avatars pouring out of the rift, their forms even more terrifying than before. Each split form was covered with fragments of rules, which spun like blades, making it difficult for the guardians' attacks to take effect.
“These guys have gotten stronger.” Lessa used his spear to repel a split entity, but the entity quickly reformed and attacked again.
“They are absorbing the power of the rules,” the observer said in a low voice. “As long as the cracks continue to expand, these split entities will continue to appear.”
Sophia calmly directed the warriors of the extreme cold dimension to use frost barriers to seal the entrances and exits of the rift, slowing down the reinforcements of the split entities. But she knew this was merely a stopgap measure.
“We need a breakthrough,” Sophia said to the observer. “Can you use the star map to find the core of the rift?”
The observer nodded, closed his eyes, and focused the power of the star chart into the depths of the rift. However, when his consciousness touched the core of the rift, a powerful backlash from the void directly assaulted his mind. He abruptly opened his eyes, gasping for breath as he took a step back.
"The Void Avatar is hiding its core... It doesn't want us to find its weakness." The observer's tone carried a hint of frustration.
On the other side of the rift, Kane ventured alone into its edge. His goal was not to fight the split entities, but to find a weakness in the Void Avatar. He firmly believed that only by approaching the deepest part of the rift could he find the true breakthrough.
The energy from the rift relentlessly assaulted his body, but Kane paid it no heed. He ignited flames in his hands, using the power of the flames to resist the corrosive energy.
"Void Avatar... what exactly are you trying to do hiding here?" Kane muttered to himself, his gaze piercing through the depths of the crack, as if he had glimpsed some unknown truth.
Suddenly, a powerful shockwave emanated from the depths of the crack, violently blasting Kane back. His body slammed into a fragment of a rule, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
“Looks like I’ve found its lair.” Kane grinned, his flames burning even more fiercely. “If you don’t want me to get close, then I guessed right.”
He formed a shield of flames and charged into the depths of the crevice once more.
In the core region of the star map, the erosion from the cracks intensifies. The Observer and Lysa fight valiantly, but the number of Void Avatar splits continues to rise.
"We can't hold on much longer!" Lysa shattered a split entity with his spear, but the remains quickly reformed into a new enemy.
"The Star Chart's energy is rapidly dissipating!" the observer's voice was filled with anxiety. "If we can't resolve the cracks soon, the Star Chart's defenses will completely collapse!"
Sophia used her frost power to seal off part of the rift, then turned to the Observer: "The Star Chart can no longer sustain the battle alone. We need new power to counterbalance the expansion of the rift."
“A new power…” The observer’s gaze deepened, his thoughts returning to the initial balance between the cosmic rules and nothingness. He murmured, “Perhaps we must use the power of nothingness to fight against nothingness.”
“What are you talking about?” Lessa frowned. “The void is our enemy, how can we use it to fight against it?”
The observer did not respond directly, but instead plunged the Star Chart Scepter into the ground, channeling the power of the rules into the area around the crack with all his might. His gaze hardened: "The Star Chart's defenses need more time, and time is the only thing we can buy."
New void energy continues to gush from the expansion point of the rift. Although the warriors of the Guardian Alliance fight hard, the battle situation remains extremely unfavorable to them.
"How is Kane?" Lysa asked breathlessly.
“He’s still on the edge of the rift, and there’s no news.” Sophia’s tone remained cold, but a hint of worry appeared in her eyes. “If he can’t find a breakthrough, all our efforts will be in vain.”
The Observer took a deep breath and drew a circle in the void with his Star Chart Staff. He whispered, "If Kane succeeds, we still have hope. If he fails... we will have to face the final form of the Void Avatar."
“Then we have no choice but to take the gamble.” Lysa gripped his spear tightly, his gaze resolute. “No matter the outcome, we cannot back down.”
Deep within the rift, the vortex core of the Void Avatar began to spin rapidly, a dark red light erupting from its center like a star about to explode. This energy surge swept across the entire battlefield, shattering the silence of the Void Abyss. The Void energy within the rift seemed to receive a summons, frantically converging towards the core of the Void Avatar, its form undergoing unsettling changes.
