Chapter 86 First Hogwarts Lesson! Meeting Hagrid!
Chapter 86 First Hogwarts Lesson! Meeting Hagrid!
At 3:30 a.m., Dudley finally lay down on his bed in the Gryffindor boys' dormitory and drifted off to sleep.
Before going to sleep, he cast another 'Peaceful Guard' spell in his dorm room, just to be on the safe side.
He then cast a calming spell on himself to soothe his mind and quickly enter a deep sleep.
Use the shortest possible rest time to relieve the fatigue of a day and a night.
About three hours later, as dawn broke, the demolition genius Simon woke up first and woke his roommates.
It is now Monday, September 2, 1991, at 6:30 a.m.
According to the schedule, first-year Gryffindor students only have one Herbs class today, which is an early morning class.
We need to go to the herb cultivation greenhouse behind Hogwarts Castle in the early morning for classes.
Dudley and Harry woke up just in time, and thanks to the calming spell, they didn't seem too sleepy.
With renewed vigor, I set off with my roommates.
My first class at Hogwarts went very smoothly, without any major incidents.
The Herbalist professor was Professor Pomona Sprout, the Hufflepuff Headmistress, a short, stout old witch with simply dressed clothes and gray curly hair.
She has a very gentle and kind personality, is fair in her dealings, and has excellent teaching abilities.
This allows students to deepen their understanding of herbalism textbooks through practical experience, remember the properties of various herbs, and lay a solid foundation of knowledge about herbal materials for later potion-making classes.
Dudley and Harry studied very diligently and were quite adept at cultivating and transplanting herbs.
Magic is not just about spells and enchantments; herbs, potions, and alchemy are also important components.
Although Dudley had already memorized the herbalism textbook, this was the first time he had seen magical plants with his own eyes and cultivated them by hand, and he was very excited.
By the end of the lesson, Dudley had earned points for all four houses. Of course, Gryffindor earned more points because of Harry and Neville's contributions.
After class, Dudley told Harry to go to the library to study on his own, adding that he would go there in a while.
When Hermione heard that Harry was going to read a book, she happily went with him.
This stunned Ron. He had originally planned to invite Harry to stroll around the castle with him and relax, but his perfect plan was aborted before he could even voice it.
He looked around, pondered for a moment, stamped his little feet twice, and finally let out a long sigh before reluctantly catching up with Harry and Hermione as they walked away.
There's nothing we can do; he's a loyal friend.
Yes, that's right! It's definitely not because he was lonely wandering around the castle alone.
After parting ways with his cousin, Dudley went straight to the stone hut outside the Forbidden Forest to find Hagrid.
Twenty minutes later, Dudley knocked on the large wooden door of Hagrid's hut.
They found Hagrid roasting sausages in the fireplace.
"Oh, Dudley! What brings you here? Is today your first day of class? Where's Harry? Didn't he come with you?"
Hagrid seemed quite surprised by Dudley's sudden visit.
"Classes are over for today, and Harry went to the library to study. I'm here because I have some important things to discuss with you, and I need your help."
Dudley got straight to the point, explaining his purpose, and casually patted the head of Hagrid's pet dog, Tooth, a couple of times.
"Look! Toothpick really likes you!" Hagrid said happily, watching Toothpick wag his tail at Dudley. "Dudley, just let me know if there's anything you need me to do! I'm Professor Dumbledore's most reliable partner; no task can stump me!"
There are five things in total.
Hagrid agreed readily, and Dudley made the arrangements even more readily: "The first thing I want you to do is to inform the unicorn clan in the Forbidden Forest to try to huddle together or hide as much as possible during this period of time, and to be wary of dark wizards sucking their blood."
If any of them are unfortunately attacked by a dark wizard, it would be best to inform you as soon as possible, and then you can inform me and Dumbledore.
"What? A dark wizard is going to sneak into the Forbidden Forest to ambush unicorns and suck their blood? Who is so cruel?"
Hagrid stood up in utter shock, his initial thought of getting some rock bread for Dudley to try temporarily forgotten. "Is this guy crazy? Forcibly sucking unicorn blood will curse him!"
Unicorns are sacred creatures; their blood cannot be used unless they willingly offer it!
“I’m sorry, Hagrid, I can’t tell you who this person is,” Dudley said very bluntly. “You know why. I don’t want this to get out of Hogwarts.”
Hagrid's face flushed red, and he spoke in a softer voice, "Dali, I...I...I'll keep the secret!"
“I’ll wait and see, but I still hope that for at least the next two months you will not speak much to anyone other than me, Harry, and Dumbledore, and drink less alcohol. This is about a great plan.”
Dudley earnestly warned, "Also, be wary of anyone using Polyjuice Potion to impersonate me and Harry. Let's set up a code word!"
Hagrid's eyes widened. He could tell the seriousness of the matter from Dudley's explanation and the careful secrecy measures, and his expression immediately became even more solemn.
"Dudley, no, how can you prove you're Dudley?! Dudley's always been inseparable from Harry!"
Hagrid suddenly asked a clever question.
This surprised Dudley: "Hagrid, you...you also have to prove that you're incredibly quick-witted today!"
Hagrid was speechless.
A few minutes later, Dudley and Hagrid proved each other's identities through a few small incidents during their time studying in the Dursleys' small classroom, and set up an easy-to-remember but complicated code.
“Alright, I’ve got this in mind. I won’t tell anyone.” Hagrid patted his chest and assured him, “Let’s talk about something else, Dudley!”
Dudley nodded: "The second thing is, after we finish talking, I need to go with you to check on those two Norwegian Spinosaurus. I have a feeling there's something wrong with them."
Dudley's words were not unfounded, because on his system panel, the A-level regret - the hunting ground guard's long-cherished wish to raise dragons had not been perfectly resolved, and he was unable to receive the top reward.
“I see that too!” Hagrid nodded in agreement with Dudley. “They’re too docile and too inactive, and they don’t click with each other.”
At Dumbledore's request, I cannot yet untie their chains, nor can I let them soar freely through the sky.
“Dumbledore is right, Hagrid!” Dudley said solemnly. “Not every wizard has your strength and magical resistance, let alone the young wizards studying in the castle.”
The fire dragon and the eight-eyed giant spider are adorable pets in your hands, but to most other wizards, they are truly invincible and powerful beasts; if they get out of control, they will bring disaster. You must remember this!
“I know, Dumbledore warned me.” Hagrid looked a little aggrieved. “But am I just supposed to keep them chained up forever? The two dragons are old, and I don’t know if they’ll ever be able to fly freely again in their lifetime.”
“There is a way,” Dali said slowly after thinking for a moment.
