Chapter 91 Under the Control of the Hands
Chapter 91 Under the Control of the Hands
The idea of hiding a corpse in a suitcase is unsettling for both Muggles and wizards. Fortunately, after officially becoming a student at Hogwarts, Harry faced Voldemort directly for two consecutive years. Having witnessed the man's various methods, tricks like "hiding a corpse in a suitcase" had no impact on his thinking ability whatsoever.
Recalling the scene in the Brain Hall a few months ago, when Moran used the brain monster with long tentacles to transmit information, Harry's most cherished memory was of Peter Pettigrew being placed in his suitcase.
Little Huijin District, Privet Road, Dementors.
Regardless of how Mo Ran accomplished this, and regardless of the illogical sequence of his actions, the brain-eating caterpillar, which should have taken six months to transform into a brain, had already completed all the Dark Magic ritual transformations after the time Harry spent attending school before his time travel. Combined with what DB Cooper said when he transformed into Argus Filch, Harry quickly fabricated a series of stories that were difficult to distinguish between truth and falsehood.
......
Peter Pettigrew, Voldemort's secret agent, remained hidden in various places, providing him with intelligence.
In 1981, after learning that Voldemort had chosen James and Lily Potter's son as the prophesied child, Peter Pettigrew, taking advantage of Sirius Black's arrogance, replaced the Secret Keeper of the Loyal Heart Charm, originally intended for Black, with himself. This allowed Voldemort to find the Potters' home in Godric's Hollow.
Voldemort, with his superb magical powers, easily killed the Potters, who were important members of the Order of the Phoenix. Unfortunately, in his desire to eliminate his prophetic nemesis as soon as possible, he forgot about an ancient magic.
It is a kind of magic that uses love and sacrifice to create protective power.
Lily Potter's act of self-sacrifice completed the final step of the magical ritual, making her son invincible to Voldemort from that moment on. And so, the Avada Kedavra curse, which could never be neutralized by any spell, rebounded onto those who wanted to kill Harry Potter.
Voldemort killed himself.
In an instant, the tree fell and the monkeys scattered.
Most of the Death Eaters from prestigious families who wanted to increase their family's profits either fled or scattered. It was only among those who were captured that there were a few who genuinely followed Voldemort.
However, this does not mean that among those who were not caught, there were none who were equally loyal and courageous.
As the keeper of the Fidelity Charm, Peter Pettigrew obtained firsthand information about the Godric's Hollow incident from among the Death Eaters. He reacted swiftly, using Black's fabricated rumors to turn the tables and frame Black for the deaths of the Potters.
After several twists and turns, the bold and meticulous Little Pettigrew sent Black to Azkaban with just one finger, while also creating the illusion of his own death.
Having made Voldemort his idol, Peter firmly believed that his master was still alive. In the days before his master returned, Peter transformed into a mouse and stayed as a pet with the Weasleys, a pure-blood family that had once opposed Voldemort.
For years, Peter Pettigrew carefully gathered intelligence and tirelessly deduced and analyzed, finally figuring out what kind of magic had killed his master. Perhaps it was his loyalty that moved Merlin, because in the same year that the boy who had miraculously survived—Harry Potter—entered school, Voldemort, who had disappeared for ten years, finally reappeared.
From then on, the master and servant, one in the open and one in the shadows, began the ultimate plan for Voldemort's resurrection and return.
The plan was carried out in secret for two years, but with Dumbledore in charge at Hogwarts, the contest between the two sides could only be described as a draw.
Now that Black has somehow escaped from prison, Peter Pettigrew is forced to consider the worst-case scenario. If that scapegoat were to reveal the truth to the public, the European wizarding world would likely be plunged into panic once again.
Voldemort wasn't worried about being forgotten by the world; what he truly didn't want was for wizards throughout Europe to be on high alert and ready to fight before his return. To avoid this, Pettigrew contacted his colleagues who were wandering across Europe, evading pursuit, and began clearing obstacles and paving the way for Voldemort in various ways.
He instigated the Ministry of Magic to confront Dumbledore, stole a large quantity of goods from Borgin & Burke's shop, and attempted to steal Thunderbird eggs from North America...
In less than six months, the Death Eaters had planned and carried out a series of heinous acts.
Even wizards with no criminal background could sense, upon hearing this news, that the Dark Lord's return seemed inevitable. How much more so for DB Cooper?
He had originally planned to steal the Thunderbird Eggs in Europe, but after "Little Star" came to his door, he abandoned his original plan.
Using his ability to disguise himself as Magus, D.B. Cooper agreed to infiltrate Hogwarts with Pettigrew to work for Voldemort. In return, he didn't need any promises of Galleons or powerful Dark Arts instruction from Voldemort himself. He only wanted Peter to provide the intelligence he had gathered over the years, including details of major events in the last two years, such as the Philosopher's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets.
The story of history gradually came together.
Harry had Pettigrew focus on describing the basilisk, a monster that had lived in the Chamber of Secrets for nearly a thousand years. He also had Peter claim that Harry had talked in his sleep in Hogwarts' boys' dormitory more than once, and that the Parseltongue that could open the Chamber of Secrets was also very familiar to him.
Thus, DB Cooper, who believed he had all the core intelligence in the European magical world and could move freely between the underworld and the legitimate world, set his sights on the Basilisk corpse lying in the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts.
......
"Come on, Draco, haven't you always said you're good at flying? This time, let's have a contest without brooms!"
"Hmph, you think I'm afraid of you? Let's fight then, I'll make you admit defeat wholeheartedly..."
"Let's go!"
"Oh hoo!"
"Hmph, hmph, ahhh!"
Rubeus Hagrid's Conservation of Magical Creatures class proceeded vigorously amidst Harry and Malfoy's shouts, and as several more students and Hippogriffs completed their bows, the time, which had seemed long and slow due to its tediousness, flew by like a fleeting moment.
Soon, the third-year students who had come to the Forbidden Forest for outdoor lessons headed towards the castle amidst endless sighs.
After watching Harry and the others leave, DB Cooper, hidden in the Forbidden Forest, finally breathed a sigh of relief. He glanced at Pettigrew beside him out of the corner of his eye, then asked tentatively:
"Those powerful figures in the castle seem to have become aware of what we're doing. Has Lord Dark Lord said what we should do if Dumbledore finds out?"
"The Dark Lord's schemes will not be seen through... We just need to do our own jobs well..."
Looking at Peter, who was stammering and seemed simple-minded, DB Cooper sighed inwardly. No matter how powerful Voldemort's magic was, he didn't believe that someone who could employ such subordinates had the ability to rule the European magical world.
Therefore, the most likely scenario is that the Dark Lord never considered Pettigrew a confidant; he simply wanted to use this poor fellow to achieve his own goals and then discard the traitor who had betrayed his friends.
Cooper's theory is certainly not wrong, but it is based on incorrect and false information.
Combining Peter Pettigrew's memories with Voldemort's madness, Harry deliberately portrayed the corpse puppet as "loyal" to the point of being somewhat dim-witted and fickle, which just happened to make DB Cooper, who didn't really want to become a Death Eater, believe it to be true.
"It's not that I don't believe the Dark Lord's judgment."
After feigning hesitation for a moment, DB Cooper reiterated his explanation:
"But the headmaster of Hogwarts is still that old man Dumbledore. If we drag things out, he might find out at any time. If you ask me, we should contribute more of our strength to the Dark Lord, instead of just blindly obeying him. Think about it, you can turn into a mouse and live in the same room as Harry Potter. You are the most suitable person to do the blood-drawing work."
"Draw blood? What kind of blood?"
DB Cooper, who has been navigating the world of dark magic for decades, considers himself to have a very accurate ability to judge people, but when it comes to someone like Peter Pettigrew, he's really not sure.
"Huh? You didn't know?"
DB Cooper tried his best to appear genuine and asked:
"It was that lord who told me that the Dark Lord's resurrection ritual requires the bones of my father, the flesh of my servants, and the blood of my enemies? Didn't you know that?"
"I...I've never heard of that...Are you kidding me?"
"Of course not, but you don't need to think too much about it. I guess the Dark Lord probably doesn't want to put all his eggs in one basket, which is why he assigned us this task."
"Oh, okay... okay..."
After being forcibly crammed with incomprehensible information by DB Cooper, the fake brain inside Peter Pettigrew's skull had reached its limit. It seemed to want to understand what the other party was saying, but being merely a mushy mass of brain-eating caterpillars, it was simply incapable of thinking logically like a human.
"So, you'll help me get Harry Potter's blood, right? Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person who's greedy for credit and dishonest. If you manage to get that boy who survived, whatever reward the Dark Lord gives you, it'll all be yours! You've been diligently working as an undercover agent for him for so many years, you need a good ending, right?"
"Dark Lord...a reward...hmm, I can't stay here as an undercover agent any longer."
In DB Cooper's eyes, Peter Pettigrew, who was delirious and on the verge of collapse, seemed to have been persuaded. And taking advantage of this confusion, he cleverly steered the conversation back to Parsleyanism.
"Yeah, that's too dangerous. Besides, you've gathered enough intelligence over the years. Think about it, you even remembered what Harry Potter said in Parseltongue. If the Dark Lord were to reward you one day, you'd be second to none among the Death Eaters, haha... What's that Parseltongue saying again?"
“Hesa...Heshe?”
“Hesha-Hassah”.
"Haha, right! hessa-hassa. See me, I always pronounce it wrong! Haha...hahaha."
Harry nodded in satisfaction in the darkness when he heard D.B. Cooper ask Peter Pettigrew about Parseltongue.
The mantis catches the cicada, and the oriole is behind.
DB Cooper, who thought he had perfectly maneuvered among the Death Eaters and had all the information about them, still doesn't understand that Peter Pettigrew, Harry, or the mysterious dark wizard hiding under the black robe were all just actors that Mo Ran had arranged to use during his time travel.
Therefore, for Harry, who has seen some of Mo Ran's memories and experienced the many events that have occurred in the past few months, his "old friend" has gradually begun to approach the level of Headmaster Dumbledore.
......
Clouds drifted across the sky, and the moon occasionally shone through gaps in the dense clouds, casting its gentle light.
There was no wind, and the various magical creatures that usually appeared in the Forbidden Forest seemed to have vanished completely. Looking at DB Cooper holding a test tube filled with red liquid, Harry, feigning ignorance, asked from beneath his black robes:
"You told me you'd gotten Harry Potter's blood? How did you get it?"
