Chapter 9: Showing My Ticket to Another Woman
Chapter 9: Showing My Ticket to Another Woman
When we arrived backstage, Red Velvet's dressing room was bustling with activity.
Four people sat side by side in front of a makeup mirror, with stylists and makeup artists moving around them, the air filled with the mixed scents of hairspray and foundation.
Bae Joo-hyun seemed to have finished her makeup and was sitting quietly to the side, holding a glass of water, watching her younger sisters busy themselves.
Because she has a dual role as both host and performer, her makeup tonight is different from the other members.
"Xiao Yuan is here." Bae Joo-hyun turned her head, a hint of barely perceptible joy flashing across her face.
"Yes." Li Yuan walked over, his gaze falling on her face as he examined her closely.
Bae Joo-hyun's look tonight is indeed beautiful, but he feels like something is missing.
"Sister Pei, are you going to stay like this tonight?" He stared at her for a while before suddenly asking.
"Hmm." Bae Joo-hyun nodded, blinked, and didn't understand what he meant.
Li Yuan looked around and his gaze fell on the pile of decorative artificial flowers on the table.
He casually picked up a large red flower, then walked behind Bae Joo-hyun and naturally tucked it into her hair.
"What are you doing?" Bae Joo-hyun turned her head slightly and gently patted his arm.
Her tone was ambiguous, whether it was coquettish or angry, but the corners of her mouth were already curved into a smile.
"It looks great." Li Yuan took a step back and tilted his head to look at it.
"Isn't it a bit too tacky?" Bae Joo-hyun turned around and looked at herself in the mirror.
"Nonsense." Li Yuan chuckled. "It looks tacky on others, but on you, Sister Pei, it makes you look absolutely stunning."
At that moment, no one noticed that in the corner of the room, someone was holding up a phone, pointing the camera at the two of them.
The stylist came over, looked in the mirror, and nodded: "I think it's fine. This outfit was just missing a focal point, and this flower is a good addition."
"Oppa! What about me!" Kim Yerin, having finished her makeup, skipped and hopped over to Lee Won, her eyes sparkling as she waited for praise.
"You?" Li Yuan glanced at her, looked her up and down, and said, "You should think more about the details of your performance later."
"Hmph!" Kim Ye-rin pouted, wrinkled her little nose, and returned to her seat, muttering things like "favoritism" and "differential treatment."
"By the way, did Xiaoyuan go and say hello to Rongxian unnie and the others?" Bae Joo-hyun asked as if she remembered something.
She remembered that Lee Won also liked MAMAMOO quite a bit and kept in touch with the members.
"I messaged them, but they haven't replied. They're probably busy," Li Yuan shrugged, his tone relaxed. "I can check on them after the performance; they're not going to just leave right after the show."
Speaking of which, Lee Won has a good relationship with the members of MAMAMOO, but the atmosphere between him and their company is much more complicated.
The reason is simple—he hasn't written a single song for MAMAMOO yet.
When the company extended the invitation to him, he was writing a song for TWICE, so he declined.
As a result, TWICE became a huge hit that time, while MAMAMOO's performance was only so-so.
The company felt that if that song had been given to MAMAMOO, it might have become a huge hit, so they harbored some resentment towards him.
However, out of fear of Li Yuan's connections and background, they didn't dare to really do anything to him, only treating him a little coldly each time they met.
"Then I'm leaving." Li Yuan said, and began to "plunder" the snacks on the backstage table without any hesitation.
"So you came here just to get some snacks, right?" Son Seungwan stood to the side with her hands on her hips, her eyebrows raised high. "So eager to leave?"
"No way, of course I came to see you guys." Li Yuan turned his head innocently, still clutching a bag of cookies in his hand. "But I have some friends waiting for me over there."
"Friend? Are you a fan of Oppa?" Park Soo-young curiously leaned over.
"I guess so?" Li Yuan thought for a moment and said uncertainly.
Strictly speaking, Mina was indeed one of his earliest fans, and TWICE were among the first group of people to follow him.
"Then go ahead, don't keep them waiting." Bae Joo-hyun waved her hand.
"Then I'm leaving."
Li Yuan turned and left the lounge. Before the door was even fully closed, Kang Seulgi's furious roar echoed behind him, resounding throughout the corridor:
"Huh? My favorite snacks are gone! Xiaoyuan took them!"
When I returned to my seat, the concert was about to begin. The lights in the venue dimmed, and glow sticks in the audience lit up one after another, creating a sea of stars.
Li Yuan found his seat and shared half of the snacks he had collected with Mina.
The two sat side by side, quietly waiting for the show to begin.
Li Yuan wasn't very familiar with the first group to perform, but he still watched the entire performance attentively, occasionally turning his head to give Mina a few comments.
"The lead singer's high notes are a bit strained," he said in a low voice. "It's probably because he doesn't have enough breath support; his voice is noticeably weak near the break point."
Mina turned her head and glanced at him, her eyes crinkling slightly above her mask.
"The framework of this dance is quite good, but the core strength is a bit lacking, and some movements are disjointed," Li Yuan continued to comment, his tone as serious as if he were conducting a case analysis in class.
Mina finally couldn't hold back any longer. She reached out and gently patted his arm, laughing and whispering, "Keep your voice down. If there are any of their fans nearby, they'll beat you up in a minute."
"I'm just telling the truth," Li Yuan said in a low voice, looking completely innocent.
"You can't say it like that even if you're telling the truth." Mina glared at him, but there was a clear smile in her eyes.
Seeing her both angry and amused expression, Li Yuan couldn't help but laugh too, and obediently shut his mouth.
A little while later, another group came on stage, and he couldn't help but say again: "The choreography was actually quite good, but the formation changes in the second chorus were a bit unnecessary and made it look messy..."
"Hey!" Mina laughed for real this time. She reached out and slapped him. "Onii-chan, stop talking, or you'll really get hit."
The two people were chatting and laughing in their seats, which was clearly seen by someone on the stage.
Son Seungwan was standing on the side stage waiting to go on stage. When he was bored, his eyes swept across the audience and he caught sight of Lee Won.
She was about to wave at him when she realized he was talking and laughing with a girl next to him, his mouth practically stretched to his ears.
Her smile froze on her face.
Although the girl was completely covered up so that her face was not visible, the interaction between the two of them looked intimate and irritating no matter how you looked at it.
Son Seung-wan clenched his fists involuntarily.
Ok.
He took the ticket I gave him and showed it to other women.
Even if they are fans, they shouldn't be chatting and laughing like this, right?
She bit her lip, took a deep breath, and turned away, refusing to look again.
After the performance, Mina left, but Li Yuan did not leave immediately.
He realized that his account hadn't been updated for a few days, and since he had come to Taiwan to see a variety show concert, it wouldn't be right not to take some footage back with him.
So he greeted Mina and told her to go back and rest first, while he headed towards the backstage area.
