Chapter 8 The Sun
Chapter 8 The Sun
From the time Naruto was three years old, the role of his father became somewhat ambiguous.
He admired, respected, and loved his father, and being his father's son was something that made him incredibly proud.
But to be honest, because of his position as Hokage, his relationship with his father was somewhat distant.
Aside from occasional companionship, most of the time, his father was just a familiar stranger who would appear at the dinner table in the morning and evening to chat with him before being called away by the secret service.
At first, Naruto actually harbored some resentment towards his father, especially when he saw other children being accompanied by their parents.
But as Naruto grew older, gained a deeper understanding of the world, and communicated more with his father, he learned what a great thing his father was doing. After gaining a better understanding of his father, the misunderstanding between father and son naturally dissipated.
Even so, some barriers still exist between fathers and sons due to the lack of companionship.
Just like Naruto, even though he rationally knows that his father loves him, he can never truly feel it because there are no concrete examples.
So when Naruto heard that his father would go so far as to imprison the leaders of various ninja villages for his sake, he was honestly a little surprised, and also felt an indescribable joy.
But only for a moment, all sorts of emotions were overwhelmed by worry.
"Will Father's actions have any impact on the plan to unify the ninja world?"
For some reason, Naruto recalled the conversation he had with his father under a sky full of stars on the night he graduated from the Ninja Academy.
"The existence of ninjas is a blessing to this world. With the power of chakra, this world should have been more wonderful, but it has become like this. I think this is a very wrong thing."
"Correct? There's no such thing as absolutely correct. It's just that peacefully using chakra and sharing its power with everyone is in the best interest of this world."
"Ninjas should not be confined to unknown villages, serving as tools for killing like dark rats, and the power of chakra should not be confined to ninjas alone."
"Peace is everyone's wish and everyone's interest. War has always been just a means to seize interests, and I will give them an irresistible benefit to completely eliminate war. This is what I am doing now, and it is also what I hope you, the new generation of ninjas, will continue to do."
Thinking of his father's words, Naruto felt a sense of urgency.
He wanted to be by his father's side immediately; he would never allow himself to become a factor in his father's grand plans.
But thinking about how busy his father might be, Naruto suppressed his emotions.
Sasuke, however, seemed oblivious to Naruto's unusual behavior and continued talking about the Fourth Hokage's exploits.
Just as he leaned against the windowsill with both hands and said with an extremely serious expression, "Please wait patiently, I will bring news of peace,"
There was a knock on the door of the ward.
Naruto turned his head and saw that the wide-open doorway was now filled with people.
"Kakashi-sensei, Sakura, Shikamaru, Choji, Neji, Ino, Lee, Tenten, Kiba, Shino, and Hinata, what brings you all here?"
Kakashi, who was walking at the front, picked up the gifts he had bought and said, "I came to see you yesterday, but you were still unconscious then, so we agreed to come again this morning."
After saying that, Kakashi glanced mischievously at the girl beside him: "Of course, it also depends on someone's early morning gathering."
Standing next to Kakashi, a girl with long, flowing hair, resembling a Yamato Nadeshiko, blushed slightly upon hearing Kakashi's words, but offered no explanation. She simply carried the gift to Naruto's side.
She thoughtfully replaced the fruit on the bedside table, then replaced the cooled water in the cup with hot water, cooled it in her hands with water magic, and placed it on top of the table before shyly speaking.
"I thought Naruto would be very happy to see everyone if he woke up, so I took the liberty of doing it myself."
Seeing the shyness in the girl's eyes, Naruto smiled, raised his hand, and the girl, seeing Naruto's movements with practiced ease, squatted down by the bed and rested her head under Naruto's hand.
Stroking the girl's long hair, Naruto's eyes softened even more: "Thank you, Hinata. I am truly happy, but please try not to trouble everyone like this."
"I see."
Hearing Naruto's words, Kakashi waved his hand: "I don't know about others, but I decided to come here on my own, after all, you are my best subordinate."
"Yeah, yeah, me too!"
"Exactly! You only know how to bully Hinata. I decided to come here on my own!"
A cacophony of voices erupted in the room, and Naruto's mood brightened as he watched the room become increasingly noisy.
Seeing the relaxation in Naruto's eyes, Hinata's eyes flashed with a sly glint, but she still obediently squatted down next to Naruto, placing her head in the most comfortable spot in his palm, quietly enjoying the warmth of Naruto's hand.
Meanwhile, in the corner of the room, Sasuke, who wished he didn't exist, breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the lively discussion among the crowd.
He tried his best to make himself less noticeable, and tiptoed towards the door, hugging the wall closely.
But just as he was about to reach the door, he heard a gentle voice.
"Is Sasuke leaving?"
The voice made Sasuke freeze instantly. He mechanically turned his head to look at Hinata beside Naruto's bed, and nodded with a forcedly cool expression: "Yes, I remembered that I still have some things to take care of at home."
"That's such a pity. I wanted to hear more about the Fourth Hokage's deeds. My brother also admires the Fourth Hokage and sometimes imitates him, but he's still not quite up to the task compared to Sasuke."
Upon hearing this, Sasuke was struck dumb. He forced himself to maintain his cool and aloof Uchiha persona, but his voice trembled slightly: "What... what are you saying?"
"Hinata is right. I saw it at the door just now, and it really does look like Minato-sensei."
These words shattered the last glimmer of hope in Sasuke's heart. He remained as cold as an Uchiha, but his face turned uncontrollably red.
"Kaka, Kakashi-sensei, you both saw it?"
"Yes, especially the imitation of the Fourth Hokage's performance during the Chunin Exams, I must say, it's incredibly lifelike."
"Then why don't I see you guys?!"
"Huh? I was so engrossed in Sasuke's performance just now that I felt I shouldn't disturb him, so I asked Kakashi-sensei to cast a genjutsu. Did it cause you any trouble?"
"Aa ...
Sasuke screamed inwardly in despair, and even his usual Uchiha-style coldness in public could no longer be maintained.
Just as his expression was about to break down, a gentle female voice suddenly came from outside the door.
"Lady Tsunade has examined him and confirmed that Naruto's body is indeed fine. Lady Kushina also just said that Naruto has woken up, so you don't need to worry too much."
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Kakashi's eyes immediately filled with tenderness.
But the sound that followed immediately silenced the noisy room.
"I understand, thank you for your hard work."
Almost everyone turned to look at the door at the same time.
Sunlight streamed through the corridor windows, filling the entire corridor and adding a golden glow to the white robe with red cloud trim worn by the deity.
In this radiant light, the man, with his golden hair as dazzling as the sun, walked to the door.
No, he was the sun; the moment he reached the doorway, his radiant warmth and light instantly filled the entire room.
Looking at the people in the room, the man paused for a moment, then put on his signature gentle smile.
"It's so lively! Thank you all. I was worried that Naruto might feel lonely."
