Jade, with practiced ease, delivered the final blow.
The journey from the cliff to the cave is basically a solo performance by Mütter.
Along the way, only Weiss went forward to scout ahead. Whenever a monster appeared, it would be chopped into pieces by Mute's Void Scythe, but it would always leave one alive to finish off the rest of the group.
Unfortunately, except in special circumstances, the monsters here are at least level 15 or higher, and the two tanks in the team can barely withstand the attacks.
截至目前,希洛克Lv10→Lv12;卡斯Lv12→Lv14;杰德Lv8→Lv10;维斯Lv9→Lv10。
Yes, not bad, just as expected, the upgrade is very fast.
Even the thrill of each upgrade had numbed Sirocco somewhat.
It's so fast, it feels like the hard work of grinding levels before, it's almost unreal.
Sirocco, confirming that Mute's attention was not on this side, slightly opened the gap in his arm armor and quietly typed on the ring clock, the target being the tuner, ready to be sent at any time.
He also discovered that Beren, Brid, and Hill had all sent him messages.
However, Sirocco didn't even look at it closely; he just sent an emoji to indicate that he had received it.
I hope Belen isn't angry about the delayed reply...
As the saying goes, it's easy to invite a god but hard to send him away; the last thing to do was deal with Mütt's matter.
Sirocco whispered to Cass:
"Have you taken the antidote?"
"We ate. Speaking of Sirocco, I still don't sense that Miss Mute is a member of the Fallen Order. Didn't she have a chance to kill us when she jumped off the cliff?"
Cass felt a little guilty, as he could level up almost by walking the entire way.
For Cass, who enjoys defeating strong opponents, this isn't an upgrade at all; it's just being fleeced.
It was someone else who helped me; I just had to pick it up myself.
"You'll find out later."
Stone figures in the cave.
Its massive body, comparable to two trucks, emerges from the cave wall, blocking everyone's path, and has a chance to drop the monster "Transform into Rock".
Mütter casually chopped it into forty-eight pieces.
They encountered several more monster attacks, all of which were easily dealt with by Mute, and the group made it to the mining area.
"I got it! I really got it..."
A rhomboid purple crystal that shimmers with a mysterious light—this is the target of this mission.
Jade was happy for a few seconds after receiving it, then a sense of emptiness appeared on his face.
"Strange? Not as fun as I expected?"
"Isn't it all thanks to someone that everything went too smoothly along the way?"
Weiss said irritably, glancing at Mute.
"Congratulations, Mr. Jade, the commission is now complete."
Mütter still wore a magnanimous, saintly smile.
Five meters away from them, Sirocco and Cass were stuffing ore into their large backpacks.
"Can you carry that much?"
"It's alright, how can you not be happy when you have more money?"
Urging Kasdor to pack some ore into his bag, Sirocco could still hold on.
--------
“Miss Mute, I can’t believe we wouldn’t have gotten here without you. Even though we leveled up a lot, it doesn’t really feel like it…”
Jade scratched his head somewhat awkwardly.
"No, no, I just did what I was supposed to do."
Mute set up the stand, lit the alcohol lamp, and started making milk tea.
At Jade's suggestion, the group went to a room in the cave to rest for a while, and after resting, they set off on their way back.
Sirocco hugged his knees, staring blankly at the orange-purple flame of the alcohol torch.
Mute, dressed in fantastical medieval clothing, was making milk tea with modern camping equipment and chatting and laughing with Jed. Weiss looked quite uncomfortable, but only occasionally chimed in with a few words.
The scene, a blend of ancient and modern elements, gave Sirocco the illusion that they were cosplayers.
Weiss became passive, having witnessed Mute's strength and was quite wary of him.
Cass glanced at them several times but never joined the conversation. Instead, he began to maintain the sword, sprinkling it with protective powder, applying oil, and wiping it clean.
Sirocco specifically instructed Cass to avoid too much contact with those people along the way and to speak as little as possible.
"After you drink the milk tea... never mind. Anyway, don't panic, everything will be fine. Just don't move around too much and listen to my signal."
Sirocco spoke to Cass at a volume that the three people opposite him couldn't hear.
"Whatever it is, just say it sooner rather than later. Don't always leave things unsaid... I think you said the same thing when you met Cliff..."
"Wouldn't revealing everything be a breach of divine secrets?"
"you...."
Sirocco nudged Cass with his elbow, reminding him to keep quiet.
It turned out to be Mute, who was holding two bowls of milk tea and handing them to Cass's Sirocco.
"I used the finest Sri Lankan seasonal tea leaves, and added cardamom and cloves for flavor when boiling the milk. I hope you will enjoy it..."
"Thank you, I was just thirsty."
Before Mute could finish his introduction, Sirocco chugged his drink in one gulp.
It has a silky smooth texture and a rich, creamy flavor.
".....Phew...Delicious."
"Really? I'm glad you like it."
Mütter took the empty wooden bowl from Sirocco with satisfaction.
Eh?
Cass was a little confused.
This milk tea was just brewed and is still piping hot.
Besides, didn't you say that Mütter had a problem?
How could you still accept gifts from others without hesitation? Especially food.
After Sirocco subtly gestured with his finger several times, Cass, though unwilling, still blew on the milk tea to cool it down and drank it... It did taste quite good.
Across from him, Jade happily shoveled the contents of his mouth and asked for another bowl.
Weiss stared at the milk tea in his hand.
The milky white dough formed a thin sheet, and the aroma of milk and tea was almost intoxicating. She subconsciously looked at the woman who handed her the milk tea.
Mute's eyebrows curved into a happy arc, and a sweet smile lingered on her lips.
Weiss felt inexplicably afraid.
Can't drink.
The body craves the sugar in milk tea, but the mind protests.
I always feel like something is not right.
"I don't want to yet..."
"Drink it, it will make you feel better."
"Ugh!!"
A gust of wind swept past, and Mute appeared beside Weiss without her noticing, forcing the milk tea down her throat.
"Pfft!...What are you doing?!"
Weiss quickly spat out a mouthful of air, pushed Mute aside, took a big step back, and drew the short knife from his waist.
"Huh? This feeling..."
Everything before his eyes became blurry and unfocused, a sense of powerlessness spread through his body, and the dagger slipped from Weiss's hand.
Thump, clang, click.
Jade, Wolf, and Scáthach all collapsed forward, backward, or to the side, limp and powerless.
When Jade fell forward, he accidentally hit his head in the bowl. Fortunately, the spilled milk only covered his shoulders and above, and did not get on the fabric, so it wouldn't be difficult to wash.
"You...woman!..."
Weiss was lying on the ground, his consciousness gradually fading, his mouth opening and closing, drool spilling from the corner of his mouth.
Mute picked up Weiss and let her lie down in his arms.
