Hogwarts: I've acquired the Father System

A small, lonely bed with a small cabinet next to it.

Next to the cabinet was a set of old table and chairs.

When visitors come to tour the place, tablecloths are put on the tables, which makes them look much brighter.

However, it's not open for visits yet, so the place is still quite dilapidated.

Darren didn't care about any of that. He opened the cabinet and took out a mirror.

These are fragments of a mirror that Mrs. Linda once broke, which she distributed among the children.

Darren didn't mind, wiped it off, and then brought his face close to it.

He was amazed when he saw it.

No wonder Snape felt nostalgic whenever he saw him.

This face looks exceptionally good right now, possessing both the cuteness of a child and the handsome features of someone about to mature.

Its bright green eyes are watery, and when it stares at people, it looks as if it is intently looking at the whole world.

A head of bright red hair lay softly on top of his head, and for some reason, a strand of hair at his temple stuck up, looking a bit like a cowlick.

Her face was a little pale, and there was a scar on her forehead with bluish circles around it, but it didn't look ugly. Instead, it made people feel sorry for her.

The system is awesome!

Darren gave the system a high praise.

Only then did they put the mirror back in its original place.

He didn't plan to take the mirror with him; he wanted to leave it to someone else.

We'll take the rest with us, though.

It wasn't because he would need it later, but to make people feel sorry for him.

After all, this child is in such a pitiful state. He just did something wrong, who has the heart to blame him?

Even Snape carefully chose his words when speaking to him; he never uttered the kind of heart-wrenching lines he used with Harry.

This is the importance of compassion.

Of course, throwing away all of the original owner's things would indeed be immoral, and it would also not fit his current saintly persona.

Darren sighed and took out another set of patched clothes and a pair of underwear with a big hole in them from the closet.

Two cookies that were about to go moldy.

And a pencil that hadn't been used much; it was the pen Mrs. Linda used to make them write.

Although they are only allowed to use it when someone comes to visit.

Looking at all that stuff, Darren couldn't help but feel sorry for himself.

Fortunately, he obtained the system; otherwise, he would have had to stay in the orphanage for a while longer before finding a way out.

Moreover, it's an uncertain way out.

"Oh, my dear child, have you finished packing your things?" As Darren turned around, Dumbledore's voice came from behind him.

Chapter Eight: An Alternative Perspective

"Professor...I'm all packed!"

Darren held up his clothes, his tone still cheerful, pretending not to notice the furrowed brows of Snape and Dumbledore.

Didn't expect?

As Lily and James's youngest son, and the famous brother of Harry Potter, he only has two outfits.

Darren could roughly guess what the two of them were thinking.

But he wouldn't comfort the two of them; after all, he was in such a miserable state.

"Severus, I think the child might need some toiletries and a change of clothes..."

Oh, dear little Darren, I hope you accept this belated gift from an old man who doesn't know how else to make up for his guilt.

Before Darren could even adopt a saintly demeanor, Dumbledore cut him off.

Darren rolled his eyes.

He never intended to pay for the clothes himself, but he couldn't miss this opportunity to play the saint!

However, as a self-proclaimed saint who intends to showcase himself at all times, Darren has found another angle.

He tilted his head, looked up at Dumbledore, and suddenly said gently:

“Mr. Dumbledore, Mr. Snape, I think I understand. You feel guilty for not finding me all these years and want to make it up to me.”

I forgive you, really, and I think you'd like to hear that. You don't owe me anything.

If, and I mean if, you really feel bad about it, perhaps you could find me a place to stay; that might make you feel better.

[Ding, Fatherhood Value +100]

Darren was happy.

Having accepted the Holy Father Points, he now possessed several hundred Holy Father Points, yet he still didn't know what else the Holy Father Points could do besides manipulating the Silent One.

I'll watch it when I have some free time.

For now, we still need to deal with Dumbledore and Snape.

He had a feeling that he might gain another wave of "saintly father" points.

……

The boy's eyes were full of comfort; he wasn't saying those words against his will.

He genuinely wanted them to feel better and was even willing to accept their compensation.

But these things made Dumbledore and Snape feel even more complicated.

They should have been comforting the child, but instead, they were the ones being comforted by the child.

James and Lily protected the wizarding world, so their children should at least live a normal life, if not a wealthy one.

But Darren didn't even have a single piece of clothing without patches.

They were often beaten, went hungry, and were bullied.

This is all due to their dereliction of duty.

The child, worried that they were upset, comforted them instead.

This kid is the complete opposite of Voldemort!

Dumbledore took off his glasses, wiped his eyes, and sighed, saying:

"Child, I hope you can accept our compensation, as an old man's most sincere request."

As for where you'll be staying, you'll need to live at Hogwarts for now. I think Harry will also need some time to adjust to your presence.

“Alright, I have no objection, Professor Dumbledore, and if Professor Snape thinks so too, I will accept your gift.”

Although I feel like I got the better deal, if this makes you feel better...

[Ding, Fatherhood Value +50]

Darren was a little disappointed; this time it wasn't one hundred, but back to fifty.

However, since it can be obtained in just a few words, it's not a loss.

Harry didn't believe Dumbledore's suggestion that Harry should get used to his presence.

Dumbledore was probably afraid that he might have some hidden problems, after all, the old man was very suspicious.

And he also needed to explain to Penny. Considering Penny and Vernon's personalities, Darren couldn't help but feel a headache for Dumbledore.

As Darren smiled, Dumbledore smiled too.

He said with a smile:

"Severus would probably be happy to buy you a gift. He's not good with words, so you can just accept it without feeling guilty."

After Dumbledore finished speaking, he and Darren both glanced at Snape.

Snape maintained a blank stare throughout, only letting out a soft "hmm" through his nose when Darren looked over.

If Darren hadn't had good hearing, he would have thought he was humming.

"Alright, if you're done talking, then you should leave. Oh, by the way, your 'friend' who might have troll blood is over there!"

Snape emphasized the word "friends," then raised his chin, pointing his greasy nose in a certain direction.

Darren looked in that direction and saw Kenli with several children, peeking and looking in their direction.

Judging from their expressions, they seem to have completely forgotten what happened before.

Thinking of Snape chanting Avada Kedavra and giving each of them a look of utter oblivion, Darren couldn't help but silently mourn for those people for a second.

However, he immediately became a little sad.

He was leaving. He had originally planned to continue earning Kenli rewards at the orphanage, but who knew that things would turn out so unexpectedly!
